C’mon Now, Laura…..

I like Laura Ingraham, her show is one of the most relevant and entertaining talk radio shows, and she is easily the most listened to conservative female talk radio host (not overall, Dr. Laura still owns a large audience.) I’m also not the biggest fan of Meghan McCain, but this is a bit below the belt.

If anyone saw Meghan on Hannity the other night (which happened after my post), she’s actually more conservative than her Dad on some issues (like closing Gitmo, for example.) I think what Meghan, Laura, and Ann (who hasn’t hit Meghan back yet) need to realize is that this conservative vs. moderate crap is lame, we need to win and we’re all going to have to work together. Based on the line-up that’s shaping up for 2012, it looks like we’ve got a bunch of principled conservatives with moderate flares (there’s a case to be made that Mike Huckabee is a moderate.) So not everyone is going to get someone they’re 100% thrilled with, but we need to get geared up and ready for 2010 and then stand behind our candidate and do what we need to to get him/her elected president in 2012. And trying to pick fights with eacher (Meghan) or getting drawn into those fights (Laura, myself) is not going to solve anything.

    It is time to have these discussions. We need to decide as a party whether we want to be Conservatives or Moderates. My vote is to become Conservatives since being Moderates has brought us to where we are today given the current administration.

    -Also, why is it conventional wisdom that we can’t win with a conservative?

    -The Dems didn’t settle for a moderate Democrat this time around. The weeded those people out and made way for the most far left canidate they could find.

    If we can’t produce someone who will run as conseravative then we don’t deserve to win any election.

    on the one hand we need to present the party as an alternative to the Dems ( conservative) but we also cannot show the “in-fighting”; we need to show a united front;

    since at least 2006 when they started their offense is a good defense campaign to cover up their fault in our 2006 losses. They have only gotten more unglued since their dream candidate lost in 2008.

    It is the moderates that cause this rift in public. Conservatives should and must defend themselves.

    No, I really am. I am a mean girl…and even I don’t resort to calling women who are prettier than I am FAT when I can’t think of an educated retort.

    (Haha…yes…did you see what I did there? I told you so.)

    Did anyone else think of…

    Oh Laura…way to set (a tiny) fire to your credibility. I understand that “starting dialogue” is a phrase that turns your heart to stone. I agree that the conservative movement should stay true to its values and ideals and not attempt to pander to the flimsy sensibilities of the undecideds; but if the only comeback to the counterargument is “blahblahblah plus size model snarkitysnarksnark”, then maybe you should rethink your strategy.

    Women are always way more vicious when attacking each other. Somehow they feel more threatened by another woman they disagree with than a man. I’d say the same thing happened to Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin.

    I have no idea what the guys above were talking about when they said this was needed. Do we really need women attacking other women’s body weight under the guise of a political argument?

    We just got her up in Boston. I actually like her better than Rush – a little more humourous, offbeat and insightful.

    I have to side with her here. And of course, the media is going to make young McCain a Republican “contrarian” star just like they did to her old man. And she really has to be stupid not not to see it or shallow to sell out the same people who used her father like toilet paper.

      Laura has been my favorite since I started listening to talk radio. I like how she can balance being serious and being humorous; and she has always been respectful without watering down her principles or passion, a rare trait these days.
