Keep an Eye on Darrell Issa.

As Governor Moonbeam settles back into the Governor’s office in Sacramento, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Oceanside, Calif.) will become the Chairman of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

Let’s not kid ourselves: As bad as Meg Whitman was as a candidate she should have won that damn election and the only reason why she didn’t was because Jerry Brown got Gloria Allred to put a woman on TV and cry hysterically about what a horrible woman Meg Whitman is. In other words, Jerry Brown played dirty and won and it really pisses a lot of conservatives in California off. Appeal to the lowest denominator in people: their emotions and you’ll win every time.

If Issa does a good job in making sure the Obama administration isn’t pulling any Chicago tactics, I’d say he’s the perfect guy to go up against baldy in 2014. Issa generally holds conservative views and The California GOP’s bench is incredibly weak at this point, and I think it’s great that Issa is being given this platform to try and raise his profile.

…investigating Hatch Act violations, Sestak and Romanov scandals, etc. Maybe he needs us to keep a “different” eye on him, a TEA Party eye???

    • Scope

and the time and resources that will be required, I personally agree that the Sestak and Romanov investigations should be further down on the list. I’d rather see Issa and his team go all in on things like Fannie and Freddie and Obamacare and the Pigford fraud. Man there is a long long list, as Issa said, this has been the most corrupt administration in modern time. He needs a whole team just to go after the rampant corruption in the DOJ.

Issa is way too comfy with jihadists and Baathists:
    http://www.debbieschlussel.com/3627/jihad-darrell-hezbos-fave-gop-congressman-911-simply-a-plane-crash/

Issa has a troubling criminal record:

We need to keep the heat on him and give him all the support we can for the investigations we want him to lead, but let’s not fool ourselves about his basic character, and let’s certainly not be promoting him for any higher office!

Issa is wrong on foreign policy, to be sure, but his role as Oversight chairman shouldn’t be affected by that.

Whitman lost because she ran a poor campaign, and because she was an Arnie squish. Brown’s ad exposing her as an Arnie clone sealed it.

    • earlgrey

voted against her too. Of course I don’t live in CA.

Still upset about Fiorina. I really liked her.

      • centerrightcali

Californians do not want an arnie 2 were completely fiine were Brown since the state is going over I am just bracing for myself and wondering how to pay for college. And about Fioriana she fired thousands of people obviously those people all over wouldnt work tirelessly to elect her if her business did support her she might have had a fighting chance. But Boxer despite the ideology is dedicated to her service and Devore or Campbell both also dedicated public servants wouldve fared better due to their progress though Campbell may have had issues with the base.
And Josh L I really thik California’s gop may survive in 4 years if not thrive. We just need to be conservative consistent and PATIENT. Before we kow it itll be Regan country again :D

    • leonidus2010

It’s hard the energize the base and get the independents to vote for your candidate when the candidate was on the board of Goverment Sachs the pariah of 2008 the same fate that doomed fomrer Gov Jon Corzine (D-NJ) when Tea Party candidate Chris Christie handed him his walking papers.

2010 was not the year for people perceived to be Washington or Wall Street “insiders” which may have also created headwinds for Fiorina.

    Go Darell Issa!!

Rep Issa voted against TARP in 2008 along with some othe real conservatives to say NO to socialism and redistributing our money to Government Sachs (Goldman Sachs), JPMorgan Crooks (Chase),Saudi Group (Citi Group), Bank of Apartheid (BofA) and Wells Fiasco (Wells Fargo).

We owe our gratitude to these leaders with said NO to socialism in their 2008 TARP votes…

I just noticed Joe Wilson was mising on the vote records I saw in the Congressional database. Was he not present or did not vote that day on HR 1424? Being the only in congress with the cajones to call out POTUS and his communist redistributiuon plans I doubt he would have voted for any socialist redistribution like TARP.
