For all of you trying to discredit Gov. Palin w/ Polls…. PART II [REMIX!]

Boom.

They money bits:

After trailing Obama by more than 20 percentage points in polls all year, the new national survey, taken Sept. 13-14, found Palin trailing the president by just 5 points, 49-44 percent. The key reason: She now leads Obama among independents, a sharp turnaround…

By a margin of 49 percent to 36 percent, voters said they definitely plan to vote against Obama, according to the poll. Independents by 53 percent to 28 percent said they definitely plan to vote against him…

Obama is neck and neck with Romney, leading by 46-44. Obama had led by 5 points in August, 4 points in June, and 1 point in April. Romney now leads among independents, 44 percent to 40 percent.

Obama leads Perry by 50 percent to 41 percent. They split independents 43-43. Obama had led Perry by 19 points in August, as Perry was joining the campaign.

Again, when it comes to polls, I agree with Gov. Palin. It could go either way. What’s most important to me is the values, character, and record of the candidates. I think both Palin and Perry trounce Obama by a LONG SHOT when it comes to all three of those things and either would be a formidable candidate.

So don’t use polls. If you don’t like her for whatever silly reason, fine. But choosing a candidate based on polls is a terrible, terrible idea. Electability is important, but polls don’t determine electability. It’s a whole lot deeper than that.

Polls especially this far out are unreliable at best. This period during the last cycle had Hillary and Guilianie (however its spelled) leading the respective primaries and Hillary winning the general by 5.

Of course the problem I have with Palin has nothing to do with polls. It’s the coy game of is she or isn’t she. While I have nothing but love for her and respect for her record. I think this game of hide and seek is beyond old.

I’m absolutely not certain that this whole “Will she or won’t she?” farce hasn’t been for the benefit of Sarah Palin and Sarah Palin alone. I’m sorry, but candidate selfishness simply won’t cut it this time around.

Regarding the poll, I’m not sure I’d take a single snapshot in time as invalidation of the substantial polling that has taken place in previous months. One poll can be (and frequently is) an outlier to the group, as CBS News polls showing Obama winning by 20 points in 2008 will attest to.

Where are you seeing narcissim in Gov. Palin? And to call it “dripping”? I just don’t see it…

    I feel like I’ve said this before…..

More important is a) Obama polling under 50% against everyone and 2) Fav/unfav numbers.

*not actually meaningless, but close enough
