These Ridiculous Fiscal Cliff Negotiations

Just so we’re clear, aren’t these negotiations supposed to be about closing the gap on the deficit? That deficit this year will reach around $1.2 Trillion this year alone? And the presidents solution? $1.6 trillion over TEN YEARS assuming people don’t move their money around to avoid the new income taxes to people making over $250,000.

I get the sneaking suspicion that President Obama and the Democrats really aren’t all that concerned or serious about the debt and deficit. Even serious liberal economists (I’m NOT looking at you, Paul Krugman) acknowledge we need permanent tax reform (broadening the base by lowering the rates) along with spending cuts in order to get our economy roaring again.

No, this “fiscal cliff” talk is all designed to do one thing: make our economy “fair” in the liberals view. Yes, this is all about the left believing that the so called rich (where I live, a household income of $250,000 means you can afford to buy a house in a decent neighborhood) don’t pay enough. It has nothing to do with the fiscal crisis we’ve been in for years now.

Speaker Boehner needs to stop playing footsie with the President and demand he get serious about the issues we’re facing.

There are no negotiations. This is a power play by Obama. The Republicans are falling right into the trap again. The media is already starting to talk about the Republicans are not willing to negotiate. We will be blamed if we reach any agreement. What we really need to do is let Obama do whatever he wants. Don’t vote for it but instead vote ABSENT! Make it truly Obama’s economy and after two years of Obama’s recession we take over the Senate beginning with the Kentucky seat of our “not really a leader.” McConnell.

If this was a T.V. game show, and it is close to that, let’s call it DEAL OR NO DEAL, the “banker’s” latest offer is this: $1.6 trillion in tax increases and $400 billion in spending cuts that will come from the military. That is what Obama has put up as his plan. If anyone votes for that they are crazy! What Bonehead Boehner should do is bring that up for vote in the House as Obama’s Plan. The Republicans vote ABSENT, and see how many Democrats vote for that plan. If they vote it in it becomes their noose. You cannot compromise with these people. Let the Democrats send us over the cliff if that’s what they want but the Republicans should be willing to let the Democrats put in place policies that will without a doubt create a new recession: the Obama recession!
