Radical Islam Finds Voice In New York College

There is a troubling story unfolding in Queens, New York, in which school officials and local Democrats have charged College Republicans with stoking racism and xenophobia.

Siraj Wahhaj, a radical Muslim cleric who authorities in 1995 identified an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, was last week invited to Queens College to speak on the subject “How Islam Perfected Thanksgiving.”

Wahhaj testified in 1996 for convicted terror plotter Omar Abdel Rahman, who was charged with attempting to bomb New York’s Lincoln Tunnel and the United Nations. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg was recently assailed–justifiably so, considering the imam’s history and inflammatory rhetoric–in the press for inviting Wahhaj to an event with local Muslim religious leaders to discuss the Ft. Hood tragedy.

Despite Wahhaj’s altogether sordid and troubling past, the imam was invited with open arms to campus of Queens College by the Muslim Student Association (MSA), whose members just days before attended a College Republican film screening event of an anti-radical Muslim film and reportedly laughed and muttered “good” as beheading footage of American businessmen and the collapse of the World Trade Centers aired.

At a debate following the film, one MSA member said, “If I had enough money I would be part of the jihad army, I would kill all the Jews,” according to one College Republican present. Another spoke of getting a “bomb.”

Following the events of the debate and the invitation to Wahhaj, the Queens College chapter of College Republicans demanded the school’s administrators defund the MSA on the grounds the group espoused radical, anti-American ideology. School officials defended the organization, telling reporters it was a matter of constitutionally-protected free speech.

The MSA “definitely should not be funded by the taxpayers,” Queens College Republicans Vice President Ryan James Girdusky told the New York Post.

But despite the school’s protestations, the Queens College Muslim Student Association has a history of associating with extremist elements of the Muslim community. One of the group’s most committed members, Adis Medunjanin, was last month arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation with Najibullah Zazi in New York City as a prime suspect in a terror investigation called “one of the most serious terrorist threats to our country since Sept. 11, 2001” by Attorney General Eric Holder.

Medunjanin, a respected member of the Queens College MSA, was a common fixture in the group’s prayer room, “where he came to worship two or three times a week,” according to the New York Times.

But the most alarming aspect of this is the College Democrats’ conspicuous silence on the matter. Wahhaj’s record of destructive and divisive rhetoric is such that, in an ideal world, both parties would be compelled–out of simple respect for the victims of September, 11th, if by nothing else–to condemn the imam’s radical brand of Islam and the group who so willingly extended an invitation.

Of course, we don’t live in an ideal world.

College Democrats’ are complicit in Wahhaj’s troubling anti-American rhetoric by failing to condemn his presence and ideology, a particularly tone-deaf position as disconcerted New Yorkers cope with the Obama Administration’s reckless decision to award enemy military combatants civilian trails in their back yard.

While school administrators’ insistence that the MSA is a run-of-the-mill student organization may be the politically expedient thing to do, it’s certainly not the right thing to do.

This seems to have an element of deja vu- say to the period directly preceding September 11th, 2001? Hateful organizations, solely because they have a certain ethnic or religious connotation that liberals don’t want to offend are allowed to promulgate and receive the ringing endorsement of our politically correct societal Illuminati.

Is this the point we are at in our country- erasing the fundamental principals of liberty, freedom, unity, rule of law and our unique identity in the name of some senseless, ill advised and destructive amalgamation of global equality and political correctness?

There used to be a time when our basic constitutional values enveloped the ubiquitous aspirations of every freedom loving, righteous person on this planet. Now, they are a dying idea replaced by the ethereal banner of change and crushed under the feet of this generations despotic tyrants.

Democrats? Never in history has there been such a erroneous, misleading sobriquet.

…when the opportunity promised by our Constitution was enough. Opportunity has been replaced by “equal outcomes”. Everyone now must be guaranteed success in their desires regardless of the effort they put into realizing those desires. BOs minions operate on “I exist, therefore I deserve” come to fruition. This is a nice addition to the SEAL ordeal going on now, American Servicemen thrown under the bus while the very forces they fight and risk their lives against are moved to the head of the line here at home.

Its been a weekend from hell and it sure isn’t getting a damn bit better. Karma is a son-of-a-b!tch and it always, always comes back around. I want to be there to see it when they get what they have earned.

It can be fixed and/or the country will survive. If we lose in Afghanistan, the country will survive. If the rails, banking and fast food industries are nationalized, we’ll adjust.

But, there is just no solution for the coming majorities of Muslims throughout Europe and the unwillingness of any current western government,(save maybe Switzerland), to require the cultural integration of western civilization into Islam.

And if you don’t think western civilization and Islam are not on a fatal collision course, you just are not thinking.

Socialization of any western institution hastens “western dilution.”

Socialism would become the new great democratizer, freaks of radical islam would be a protected species and there would be no point to “cultural integration.”

Yes, it begins and ends with capitalism, free markets and a free world.

If you had a job and real bills, you’d know this.

We hesitate to discern right from wrong and good from evil. Mistakenly thinking we are open minded and non discriminatory.

Instead, we incubate the very seeds of America’s destruction.
Inside our schools, our communities, our government.

Heck, there were and still are mosques preaching radical Islam with a 20 minute drive from Ground Zero. If anything, we have become more tolerant of those who openly vow to destroy us, who hate us simply because of our fleeting belief in freedom.

Not a peep from Congress, the FBI, or the media.

    Tick, tock…

the politically correct, and, the moral relevance in this country will destroy us.

        an “awakening” then what will?

I live about 20 miles from Ground Zero. Born and raised here, but gone most of my adult life due to a military career. There is a local, radical Mosque that was preaching hate before 9/11.

They continue to preach radical hate today.
8 years after 9/11, the facility is bigger, better funded, and a frequent stop for politicians who want to appear ‘open-minded’ and ‘inclusive’.

Rep King has been pretty good on this issue but both our Senators, the rest of our House Reps, local mayors, county supervisors, ect. have all been playing patty cake with these monsters.

I don’t see any indication of things changing in the near term.
I don’t want to see the nation get attacked again.

it will be suffocated and then thrown in the ditch.

Islam wants a “ban on blasphemy that would put them on a collision course with free-speech laws in the West.” The political arm of Islam intentionally confuses ‘Freedom of Religion’ with establishing a ‘State Religion’ free from criticism or comment. Islam is a military political organization and should be treated as such. The intent is to destroy the very liberal concepts of the Western Word. Especially, the liberal concepts of Freedom of Religion and Tolerance.
