My Congressman, the one and only Ron Paul (Ronulan, Saturn), knows full well why the panty bomber wanted to drop a flaming airliner onto the city of Detroit. It is because we deserve it. Yup, you got it. We are just asking to be killed, and in fact deserve to be killed, because we are “occupying” all those middle eastern countries. You can check out his statement here on YouTube. If I embedded it, you’d have to look at his face even of you didn’t want to run the video.

This of course is the same reason that so many German, Japanese, South Korean and Californians are also mounting suicide attacks on America. You see, by “occupying” these countries, we are simply begging – no, demanding – to be attacked.

Of course, in the sane part of the world, some of us realize that the reason people like the panty bomber want to kill us is simply because we are kafir, or infidels. It would not matter one bit if we recalled all of our forces from every corner of the Earth and stationed them along the New Jersey coast waiting for the invasion, because the Muslim agitators will still want to kill us. Oh, and those other countries we are “occupying” will also be attacked. Not because we are (or were) there, but because they too are kafir or infidels. Whether or not we choose to fight back, and regardless of whether we choose to fight here or there, we are and will be under attack for the foreseeable future. In a Ron Paul world, we will stay at home and allow the soft invasion plus the occasional little airliner or mall bombing to continue; after all, we won’t really be allowed to counter the homegrown jihadis under a libertarian utopia.

There is a glimmer of hope this year in Texas CD 14, and that is Tim Graney who is running against Paul in the primary. Tim is a realist who understands the threat of Muslim invasion – both the terroristic variety and the soft version. He also understands the linkage between energy sources and the source of funds for Muslim terrorism. There is much more to Tim’s platform, but let’s face it – this one topic is pretty important! Here is an excerpt from Graney’s press release this morning:

“Ron Paul incorrectly believes America is reaping what it has sown around the globe, and in his eyes this attack is an example of what America deserves when it tries to extend peace, democracy, and inclusion throughout the world. In short, Paul’s ideas on foreign policy are a danger to the safety and security of America. He is not doing his duty as a Representative; instead pushing his own ideology and ineffectively representing the people of the 14th District of Texas. We know why we are under attack and we know that we need to bring the fight to our enemies, but Ron Paul lacks this understanding and the resolve to do what is right.”

You can read the whole thing at his campaign website: graneyforcongress.com

We all know that Ron Paul will bolt the Republican party for the 2012 Presidential race, so perhaps we can help him get started early! In the spirit of Hoffman, Rubio, Brown, and DeVore, please help out by contributing to and talking up Tim Graney.

I know that the folks here at RedState love knowing what’s going on in some of the local Congressional races. I also know that any of you (like myself) like to reach out and help those candidates that are true to our Conservative principles. In this instance, I am able to write about my own district and hope you will take a few minutes to get to know this candidate.

Over the last few weeks I’ve met with Tim Graney, a fellow who is running to unseat R*N P**L (Ronulan, Saturn). Over the course of the meetings, I really wanted to get to know Tim’s positions on the issues that are important to the people here in TX CD14. I think Tim is the right guy.

Tim Graney built a small consulting company over more than a decade and did major projects for companies like ExxonMobil. Through this experience, he learned the realities of the small business world and the challenges faced by large multi-nationals. He sees what a devastating effect a huge tax rate has on business growth and would work to reduce or eliminate it. So, from a business background, he gets it.

On energy policy, he is rational as well. Drill here, drill now. He knows that oil and natural gas are far more important than just simple transportation fuels. To generate clean power to charge up all those little electric cars, build nukes. Perhaps most importantly, he understands the relationship between our national energy policy and our national defense.

Tim believes in the core values that founded this country and which can still be found out in places like Katy, Texas, but which seem so absent from the halls of Congress. That is, hard work, minimal government interference in business and personal freedom will result in a strong and growing economy. Since he is not a career politician, he remembers what it is like in the real world. Something that the incumbent does not seem to get.

Finally (for now), on the issue of defense and especially defense from radicalized Muslims… Tim understands that we must fight this battle on many fronts, in many places, and in in many forms. We are being attacked in military ways, on the cyber front, and through a soft infiltration. We must protect and fight back on all fronts, not just sit at home waiting to defend the homeland as the incumbent would have us do.

Please learn more about Tim here and if at all possible, please donate. We here in CD14 know that R*N P**L is a source of great entertainment for the rest of the country, but we would like to have actual representation in DC for a change! Thanks.

A nice reminder here by RedInABleuState about ramping up for 2010. A call to action. He asks what each of us is going to do. I was a bit suprised how long it took ColdWarrior to chime in (heh). To some CW may sound like a broken record. To me, he sounds like a war drum. Here in my first big-time, real diary entry I | Read More »

A nice reminder here by RedInABleuState about ramping up for 2010. A call to action. He asks what each of us is going to do. I was a bit suprised how long it took ColdWarrior to chime in (heh). To some CW may sound like a broken record. To me, he sounds like a war drum.

Here in my first big-time, real diary entry I thought I’d tell my story and give my answer to RedInABleuState’s question. My short answer – all I can.

In an incredibly prescient move, I sought out and began attending the county GOP Executive Committee meetings about three years ago, even before CW began beating the drum. I was pissed. Mostly at my Congressman. Still am. Even finding how to get involved was difficult as the local GOP had no website to speak of. I was able however to contact the Chairman and get started at the meetings. The meetings were short and focused on business and I kept a low profile until I could get the lay of the land. During this time I joined RedState, read a lot and wrote every member of Congress more than once. My wife nixed my idea of quitting my job, dressing as a revolutionary war patriot and handing out copies of the Consitition at the Houston malls. That was about 18 months before the first Tea Party.

Next I took the initiative to get a decent website going for the local party. I’m not a programmer and haven’t been able to recruit a good one yet. I also work within the maintenance bounds that are required to keep the site up to date. I cannot do that part on a daily basis. So now we have a website where at least the people wandering in the wilderness can find us. It’s not the best it will ever be, but it’s functional and the contact form has already helped recruit more activists.

Next, I wanted to work elections. We’re in a rural area and a pretty small precinct and madam Chairman recruited me to become an election judge in time for the ’08 primaries. In our little precinct, the GOP and the Donks hold their primary votes in the same room. While our side ran smoothly and efficiently, it was quite humorous watching the other side stumble, fumble and generally make a fiasco out of the day.

I was there as the election Judge for the 2008 general election, had recruited my wife and some co-workers to man the tables and we made sure there was nothing shady going on. At this point I was appointed Precinct Chairman as the previous fellow was MIA.

Even still, it wasn’t enough. A gentleman at one of our meetings brought up an idea to rent billboards throughout the county and post revolving Conservative messages. He did some research into the idea and reported back a couple of times. Months went by and the Executive Committee was not getting on board. The idea began to falter. The proponent became ill and could no longer fight so I picked up the banner. Wrote some persuasive papers and re-pitched the idea to the group. Got permission to form a committee and spend some money. After researching it, we decided a better investment was 4′x4′ campaign style signs. For the price of one billboard in one place, we can deploy 28 signs throughout the county. Next month, 28 more with a different message, next month 28 more. All signs include our URL. This is so inexpensive, I’d encourage every county in every state to do something similar. The slogans you develop can then be printed on shirts and bumper stickers which you can sell directly to raise funds, or through a hosted site like CafePress. Here are some of our slogans we’re printing:

MORE Govt can’t fix BAD Govt!
Freedom: Miss it Yet?
Socialism: A Political Disorder
Hey Congress – You Work for Us!
Give me Liberty – NOT More Govt!
America – No Apologies Needed

So, I’m just one guy, but even in our local GOP, I feel like I’ve been able to make a difference and you can to! Attend the meetings. Volunteer some time. Get involved in working elections. Rally for Conservative candidates. Write your CongressCritters. Find one or two young people to adopt as projects to educate.

Get off the sidelines and get moving! And, hey ColdWarrior – keep beating the drum!
