Precinct Reorg 4 min video .. Arm Yourselves!

The folks at Conservative.SC put together this SPOT ON video for use in explaining the progression of county precinct delegate through to national convention. Feel free to use it! The Spartanburg Tea party is using this video, plus precinct information, and even role play opportunities at our next meeting to “demystify” the precinct reorganization process. We are also attending our county GOP precinct reorg training scheduled early in February. We have two goals … 1) help people who have never before been involved in their precinct to understand how important this delegate position is and how easy it can be to get involved and 2) build their conviction that becoming a precinct delegate is their patriotic duty. And I don’t think I’ve ever typed those two words before. We’ll supplement these activities with some letters to the editor and calls in to our local talk radio. That’s our plan. What’s yours?

As the process moves forward, we at Conservative.SC will be putting together additional educational pieces… to guide folks through the entire process. It’s important for people to understand what is going on, how the system works, and how to make sure their voices are heard. Thanks again Karen!!

I wasn’t there today. I voted by proxy. But I got the news that the conservative state committeemen, elected by the conservative precinct committeeman in their respective local legislative district committee meetings in Nov. and December, were in the majority today at the Arizona Republican Party organizational meeting, and elected conservative write-in candidate Tom Morrissey.

Bruce Ash, on of our two RNC delegates, was the “conservative” candidate, but he dropped out on Monday morning basically due to “doctor’s orders” — a cancer flare-up requiring treatment and been diagnosed. So, that left us conservatives searching for a new candidate. I called Tom and urged him to get into the race. He said he would if certain other conservatives would not. When those others decided to not run, Tom stepped forward.

Then the conservative PCs and their elected representatives, the conservative state committeemen, sprung into action. Phone calls were made. E-mails were sent. Blog posts were made. Digital videos were created for Tom. And five days later he was elected our new, conservative, Arizona Republican Party Chairman.

The Neighborhood Precinct Committeeman Strategy works, folks. It just takes conservatives to get to their local Republican Party committee meetings and learn what it takes to become a “voting member” of the Party. Each state has its own requirements. None are onerous. Any registered Republican has the right to participate. You can learn more at my little blog below — I’ve got links to state-specific info that I’ve come across.

We conservative Republicans in Arizona who got involved and became precinct committeeman in the 2010 election cycle got ‘er done in Ariizona. You can in your state, too.

    Thank you.
