Help in OHIO!!!

Just $5 to help get out the vote in OH

Our friends the PUMAs are working hard to get out the vote in Ohio. A group from Chicago (DeMcCrats for McCain & Chicago Young Republicans) is spending the rest of the run up to the election in Ohio canvassing for votes. They need our help to fund the trip. They are looking for $4,500 to cover rooms and buses for those folks. These are very effective workers who helped Hillary Clinton win PA, Ohio, etc.

I donated, I would love to see my fellow Redstaters help with this. In order to close this deal, we need to work with those that are willing to go all in with us, regardless of party affiliation.

Nobama

Deplorable…

And they have the nerve to say our rallies promote violence

This is scarier than some claim by reporter that a loony yelled “Kill him” at a Palin rally.

Obama supporters think it’s Socialism…

Why shouldn't we?

A little help would be appreciated

Party in Chicago

I donated to support this good idea. I ask that those who can donate do so ($5 is all they are asking from each donor). Show our PUMA helpers that we aren’t all Eeyores and that we too want to make sure it truly is NOBAMA!

This tells me more about polls than any pollster could

Obama resorts the "scare the elderly" tactic

I just checked my news front page and saw this. I had to chuckle because this shows me that Obama’s internal polling doesn’t equal the “hopey-changey” model his backers in the MSM are pushing down all of our throats. If it did, he wouldn’t have to resort to the Democrat’s most overused scare tactic – The big bad Republican is going to take away your Medicare!

Watch Sarah Palin live from Scranton

Streaming on the web

Sarah Palin is in Northeast PA (Scranton to be exact) and will be speaking today (10/14) at 2 pm. Check out Wnep.com for a live stream of the speech.

If you are judged by the company you keep…

then Obama better find new friends in Scranton, PA

I now have a new chant thanks to the folks that showed up at the Scranton rally today:

While cops cleared the street and confined the protesters and Mr. McCain’s supporters to their respective sides of the street, the McCain side began a chant of their own, “Na-na-na-na, Na-na-na-na, O-bam-a, goodbye.”

I think I’ll be using that one myself!

This is the kind of mentality we’re up against

I was reading the 360 blog on CNN (I like to be amused sometimes) and saw an entry titled “Is the Tide Turning?” The entry wasn’t too bad, surprisingly for CNN, but I had to read the comments. While many are in the same vein – Waah, John McCain cheated – this one stood out for me:

Donna A. Reuter, Bremerton, WA August 18th, 2008 1:28 pm ET

Amended entry:

This event violated the Constitution of the United States. The Constitution forbids any religious means testing and shame on CNN for participating in this. I cannot believe how ignorant of the Constitution that everyone is (this includes the press), it is deplorable.

This also violated the First Amendment of the Constitution that states that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.” CNN and other media outlets have tunnel vision with this Amendment just see “freedom of the press” and nothing else.

Let me give you reasons why church and state should be kept worlds away, The First World War, The Second World War, The Taliban in Afghanistan and September 11th, 2001. Are you listening to me and do you understand what I am waring you about. When religion gets involved in the affairs of State, evil, horrible and awful things happen.

What? What is this lady smoking? Violated the Constitution? This is someone who needs to go back to high school and take 9th grade Civics. The One was not REQUIRED to be there. Her “argument” supporting her position was so off the wall, I think she has Obamalaria and is hallucinating.

I was tempted to respond to these stupid comments, but then I realized that no comment by a level-headed person would make an impact with someone like this.

If you want some amusing (and scary when you think about it) reading and quotes, check out the comments on that entry.

Chris Carney has got to go

He isn't one of us, no matter what his campaign says

As someone who lives in the hotly contested 10th Congressional district and is literally a neighbor to the current Congressman, articles like these drive me nuts. Chris Carney has played the game during his first term, trying to come off as something he is not – a centrist.

Those who know him personally (and his wife and kids) know that he and his wife are true liberals. While Carney officially refused to endorse a candidate (knowing his constituents would be furious with his real choice), he played the game – whoever won his district would get his endorsement. Clinton took the district overwhelmingly, so Carney ponied up the fake endorsement, all the while his 17 year old son’s Myspace page (and his other kids told at school) showed who the family truly endorsed (that same Myspace page also proclaimed his son’s non-belief in God and condemned those that did). Obama was a major supporter of his original campaign, even though that (and his other liberal supporters) was kept quiet until the election was over.

Carney barely grabbed the spot 2 years ago (52/48), only after a scandal chased the incumbent Republican from office. He has played the pork game, trying to buy votes with earmarks aimed at appeasing Republicans – defense, etc. He also refuses to publicly come down definitively on any issue that might offend the Republican majority in his district. He was for the war (because the district was) until this campaign. Now, when he thinks that Obama is going to be President, he is saying we need to end the war.

He also claims to be one of us, rural Northeast PAers, failing to bring to the forefront that not only is he not from the area, he didn’t live here in the area when his wife and children moved to Susquehanna County. He is from Iowa, moving to Nebraska and Washington DC before moving to this area little more than 10 years before he ran for Congress. His closest office to the rural part of the district is 25 miles away from his home – in the Democratic enclave within the district. His office announces every month that they are available one day a month for about 5 hours in each of the rural courthouses. Really available huh? Cares about whether we little guys get helped?

I call on anyone with the ability to help the Chris Hackett campaign does just that – help. Spread the word locally, donate money to the campaign. We need to oust this disingenuous person now, send him to another state looking for a liberal to represent them.

John Edwards lied…

Why isn't anyone surprised?

Sometimes the National Enquirer actually gets it right. John Edwards admits that he lied about the affair with Rielle Hunter. Of course he denies paternity of Frances Quinn Hunter, Rielle’s daughter, even though he hasn’t had a paternity test.

Guess he’s not in the running for AG anymore, huh?

And the Democrats accuse us of using scare tactics

Taking a page right out of what they call the Republican playbook, the DNC has launched this wonderful website to “scare us all straight”.

This group paints each possible VP with their own Bush/Cheney brush. The funny thing is, they even have the nerve to bring up links to Abramoff as if their party hasn’t had it’s own issues with fundraising – Norman Hsu, Charlie Trie, Johnny Chung anyone?

How about the former VP, current saint, Al Gore and his fundraising issues?

If all the DNC is going to do is claim we play dirty, then maybe we should get down and dirty and start reminding people about the real DNC.
