My thoughts were centering around Thanksgiving and out of the corner of my eye I noticed a 100 foot pole with what I believe is one of the most beautiful sights on earth waiving in the breeze. Old Glory was at full furl in the wind. As I took in this magnificent scene I began thinking about the marvelous heritage we as Americans have that no one else on earth can claim.

A heritage that at times we take for granted which has brought us freedom and liberty that have never been experienced before in human history except in this land we love, The United States of America. Freedom that began as ideals then flourished into the gathering of some of the most brilliant minds the world has ever known who met in Philadelphia in 1776 and displayed the courage to commit treason against the British Crown in placing their names on a most precious document that brought their ideals into reality and gave birth to a nation.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

These are more than just words penned to paper but the birth of freedom and opportunity that began the heritage which allows each of us as Americans to relfect with grateful hearts for all that God has given us throughout our short and prosperous history. This heritage came at a cost through great sacrifice to insure that those freedoms expressed so many years ago which are, “endowed by our Creator,” are able continue for us and future generations.

I think of those bitter days at Valley Forge when the determination of George Washington held the fledgling Continental Army together to later become victorious baptizing this new nation with the precious blood of fallen hero’s. Of those terrible years from 1860-1865 when this young country and her Constitution were put through the ultimate test when brother fought brother, both believing that they were fighting for the same ideals that the Founders intended and when the test was over this Nation found a new birth of freedom that, “this government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”

I think of the Dough-Boys living in the filth of the trenches of WW I hundreds of miles from home yet still fighting for the same ideals that their brothers died for in the Revolution. Of the , “Greatest Generation, ” who sacrificed and defeated fascism to ring liberties bell loud and long throughout the world as Old Glory flew proclaiming that all men can be free.

The men who landed at Inchon and climbed Pork Chop Hill in, “The Forgotten War, ” Korea, but who fought for liberties flag with the same determination and sacrifice as their brothers of the past. Those who sacrificed and gave of themselves in the jungles of Vietnam standing true to liberties cause. The thousands of hero’s of Desert Storm, Fallujah, Baghdad and the mountains of Afghanistan who defended liberty and sacrificed for freedom.

Then I realized that this marvelous heritage that has grown through history is not just a heritage of the past but a living vibrant heritage that continues to grow and flourish each day that the Red, White and Blue flies, whether here at home, the Middle East, north or south, east or west or where ever the influence of, ” We the People,” and the immortal words of the Declaration penned in 1776 and the Constitution penned in 1787 are expressed by our brave men and women in uniform or by travelers on business or pleasure both at home and abroad. For you see all of us are part of this historical and living heritage that is America.

As freedom rings in this land we love, General Washington still strides atop his white horse. Abraham Lincoln continues to share both his whit and his wisdom to us all. Orville and Wilbur Wright will always be flying at Kitty Hawk, NC. Thomas Edison is inventing the light bulb. Alexander Graham Bell still asks Watson, “can you hear me?” Both making earth changing discoveries. David O Selznick forever directs Scarlett and Rhett. Sousa still waves his baton to the stirring fanfare of , “Stars and Stripes Forever.”

As freedom rings in our beloved America, the battleship Arizona and her brave crew will always sail the seas. Lucy, Ricky, Barney, Andy and the Beaver forever make us laugh. John F. Kennedy eternally proclaims, “ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.” Neal Armstrong continues to, “take one small step for a man and one giant leap for mankind.” Ronald Reagan will always see, “the shining city on a hill, “ and the World Trade Center will forever stand glistening in the sun.

Today in distant lands our best and brightest are fighting to keep this heritage of freedom and liberty alive and vibrant so that future generations can forever sing, “My country tis of thee, sweet land of liberty of thee I sing.” So that future generations will always be able to reflect with pride on the liberties they are now paying for with their unselfish sacrifice.

During this time set aside on the long calendar year to give thanks for all that we have and all that we are, let us not neglect to remember the bountiful blessing each of us know as The United States of America. Giving thanks for our family, our hero’s serving in distant lands and here at home. Thanksgiving for our freedoms and the living, breathing heritage that keeps us free. This man does not care what the American people believe or think because we are the targets of his plan. It cannot succeed unless the very people he was elected to serve become complete dependants on the government which is his tool to use in dismantling America and destroying the free society that has been the hallmark of this Nation since it inception.

From the Stimulus to the bailouts to health care every move he has made has within its legislation and implementation, programs that remove freedom and force dependency of business and individuals on a centralization of power not just in the government but specifically the Executive Branch.

He has appointed more than 30 Czars who unlike those in past administrations whose responsibilities were to work on specific issues and inform the President on how best to approach the issue from a policy stand point, Obama’s Czars have the authority to make policy and to enforce that policy bypassing Congress and increasing the power of the Executive Branch far beyond its Constitutional limits.

The stimulus package which was claimed to be necessary to prevent the collapse of our economy and the rise of unemployment has actually greatly contributed to the record unemployment we are experiencing now. What better way to force Americans to depend on government than to institute a program that dries up their jobs then extend unemployment benefits indefinitely causing hard working Americans to look to the government for their income. Welfare roles have doubled since the stimulus went into affect again creating a greater dependency on the government.

The so called health care reform that has been front and center for months is nothing more that a complete take over of a massive portion of the economy with provisions that punish private business, increase taxation and fine anyone who does not comply with an accompanying jail sentence if the non-compliance continues. The entire debacle is nothing more than yet another forced control of Americans and the dissolving of our freedom.

A close friend of mine is related to a sitting United States Senator. He spent the day with his Senator family member last week and this was related to him by the Senator. After taking office a traditional luncheon between the First Lady and Senate wives took place. In past administrations the First Lady met with the wives and established a relationship that extended in a friendly and working manner throughout past Presidency’s.

Michelle Obama did not attend the luncheon until after the meal was served and refused to associate with any of the wives upon or after her visit. She marched straight to the podium and informed the Senate wives that she was not there to be their friend nor exchange recipes. She was in Washington on mission to support Barack who, in Michelle Obama’s own words was ,”ordained,” from birth and,”divinely,” appointed to be where he is so that he could fulfill his destiny to, “change America.”

We are witnessing Obama’s change. The total rebuilding of American society and the dismantling of the Constitution, our freedoms and liberty and the forced dependency of the people on government with power centralized to the Presidency. This is why Congress has little access to Obama. This is why he does not listen to or care what the people think. He believes that he is,”divinely,” appointed to change our Nation whether we like it or not. Just who has divinely appointed him I do not know, but I suspect it is not the God I serve. But the important thing is that he believes it and it is dangerous for our country and the survival of America as a free Republic.

It is imperative that our fight against Obama’s dismantling of our Nation escalates before we no longer have the ability to fight because of restraints to our freedoms. Legislation at Obama’s behest is being forced through even though the majority of Americans are opposed to it. It almost seems that we are helpless to stop the juggernaut of destruction that is hell bent on dismantling our country. But we are still the people of The United States and there are still many in Congress who pay attention to us and are not brainwashed by the power hungry Obama.

There are many in Washington who are working behind the scenes to slow and stop Obama’s power grab and his plans to deconstruct the country. We still have within our power as citizens to stop this destruction by our voice which is still heard by most in Congress and especially our vote. Obama’s hands can be tied if we eliminate the one avenue he is trying to use to force government dependency and that is the Congress through legislative action. They must fear the people more than they fear Obama. It can be done and it must be done or else one day we will see the fulfillment of this warning from Ronald Reagan, “And if you don’t do this and if I don’t do it one of these days you and I are going to spend our sunset years telling our children, and our children’s children, what it once was like in America when men were free.”

Lincoln was not the main speaker of the day. In fact his invitation was actually an after thought to the dedication and he was asked to deliver a,” few appropriate words.” The great orator Edward Everett had delivered his usual masterful oration lasting more than two hours. Lincoln quietly rose and spoke for just two minutes. The crowd of nearly 20,000 made no response to Lincoln’s words because of the awe they felt from what they had heard. The President thought he had failed. Yet his two minute speech is is considered one of the immortal speeches of all time. Everett commented after ward that Lincoln had said more in two minutes than he had in two hours.

In his,” few appropriate words,” Lincoln sought to unite a Nation devastated by Civil War. He sought to honor those who, “gave the last full measure of devotion,” on the now famous battlefield. He sought to encourage Americans that the Nation would survive and be better as a result of the pangs of such a war. Lincoln succeeded in all he sought with the immortal words of the Gettysburg Address.

Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.

Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation, so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battle-field of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.

But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate…we can not consecrate…we can not hallow this ground. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here. 146 years ago a real President leading a divided country sought to unite the greatest divide our Nation has known in a,” few appropriate words.” Today a pretender to the Presidency seeks to divide a Nation and take us down a path that Lincoln gave his life to unite and to find a rebirth of freedom.

ABC News is reporting that Hasan was contacting Al Qaeda recruiters in Yemen and not only did the CIA know it but had informed Army intelligence yet Hasan was still promoted from Captain to Major and transferred to Fort Hood in preparation for deployment to Afghanistan. Evidence has also been found that Hasan attended the same Mosque that was used by several 9/11 hijackers and was in attendance at the Mosque when the 9/11 Islamic killers were there.

Eyewitnesses of the terrorist rampage at Fort Hood have reported that Hasan calmly shot those who he killed and wounded and reloaded several times. While shooting he was also quoted as yelling, “Allahu Akbar, god is great” as he was killing soldiers and civilians. Hasan’s actions in the days leading up to the terrorist attack were also similar to the activities of the 9/11 killers, such as saying goodbye to friends, giving away personal possessions and visiting strip clubs.

The political correctness both in the media and the Obama administration avoiding ANY reference to Hasan being a Muslim and that his Islamic religion was at the center of his terrorist attack is a dangerous precedence that will only encourage further attacks of this kind and worse as terrorist groups like Al Qaeda see the weakness toward terrorism from the the administration. This was a terrorist attack performed by a Muslim fanatic killing in the name of Allah and now it must be determined whether he acted alone or was part of a larger plot. Avoiding it for PC does not change this fact!

Another interesting development concerning Hasan is that during the Presidential transition Obama’s transition team created a special task force to review Homeland security procedures and Nidal Hassan was PART OF THIS TASK FORCE, which gave him access to security procedures which could have given him the ability to move as he did at a secure military instillation. Follow this link to Appendix C “Task Force Participants.” Continue until reaching page 29 and the eighth name in the left column is listed as, “Nidal Hasan Uniformed Services University School of Medicine.”

With Hasan’s obvious Islamic terrorist connections which were under investigation by the CIA and the FBI as well as his continual vocal condemnation to US policy BECAUSE of his Islamic affiliation should have forced this Muslim fanatic out of the military and NEVER on a Presidential task force. This sounds similar to the break down in communication prior to the 9/11 attacks.

I cannot help but wonder if the activity by the Obama administration in seeking criminal prosecution for those gathering intelligence allowed this obvious terrorist to slip through the cracks. Additionally the political correctness and the softening toward terrorism that is running amok in the current climate in Washington under the Obama administration attributed greatly to not preventing this terrorist attack before it happened. Could this be just the beginning of further attacks testing the weakness of Barack Obama in preparation for another 9/11 ? If so then Obama failed miserably in responding in a manner that would deter future attacks.

218 Democrats and one lone turncoat Republican from Louisiana signaled clearly to the American people by their vote passing the House version of health care, that they do not care what the people think and that the Constitution of The United States is nothing more to them than a historical document whose day has passed and whose principles have no meaning in the political climate of Washington under the socialist umbrella of the Obama Presidency and the Pelosi Congress.

Never before in our history have elected representatives whose Constitutional oath and responsibility is to listen to and act in accordance with the will of the people, shown such a total usurping of the foundational Constitutional principles of liberty and taken such a ideological stand against the people as they have with the passage of this unconstitutional and freedom stealing health care monstrosity.

Before and especially after the vote Congressional leadership and the President arrogantly claimed that what they were about to do and eventually did was for the people and what the people wanted. Yet poll after poll clearly have shown that no more than 35% of the people favor the government take over of health care. Even as the bill was being debated tens of thousands of angry Americans were standing outside of the Capitol screaming to, “kill the bill.” Millions more have expressed their anger and disgust with the bill by e-mail and phone yet 219 terrorist representatives forced an ideological nightmare of socialism down the throats of the American people.

Prior to the debate Barack Obama went behind closed doors with Democrats to arm twist many who still opposed the bill and refused to meet with any member of the opposition which were only foot steps away from his location at the Capitol. So much for transparency and promises of bipartisanship. Nancy Pelosi took to the cameras with her evil botox smirk after the meeting and after the vote lying that this, “historical,” legislation was for the people. The only people that this debacle is for are the liberal socialists who see health care as their greatest opportunity to control our lives using government as the means of that control.

Everything about this bill stands in direct contrast to the Constitution. From the provision which requires every American to purchase health care or face fines and imprisonment to its total deconstruction of private insurance and private health care. Making government the deciding factor in the free process of individual health care decisions and the government running private insurance companies out of business through, “competitive, ” practices designed to give government health care the greater financial advantage in the cost of coverage.

The passage of the House bill is not the final outcome of the seeming never ending health care debate or a signal that government will take over health care. The Senate still has yet to put together their final bill and vote on the Senate floor. In fact opposition is so fierce in the Senate to its version of health care that Harry Reid has signaled that it will be January at least before the Senate takes up the bill moving it into an election year which stands to favor Senators paying more attention to the voice of the people.

Which means our task as citizens who love our freedom and do not want a socialist take over of our health care have much more work to do. It will require each of us to place the fear of our vote and our anger in the very soul of every Senator who enters that Chamber when Reid places their bill on the floor for debate and vote. Senators have shown at least a passing sensitivity to what the people think as opposed to the total arrogant ignoring of the people by most in the House. Yes many Senators, Harry Reid among them, could care less about what we think and the principles of the Constitution but more actually seem to listen than not.

So we as Americans who believe in liberty and believe in a Republic of the people where government is not our controlling force and the individual is the deciding factor in every aspect of our lives, we must take an even more determined stance than ever before. We must also mark for destruction every terrorist who voted for passage in the House of Representatives. Destruction of any possible future for a political career. Any possible re-election. Any possible opportunity to usurp the Constitution and the will of the people again.

We are at war with these socialist terrorists and just as our military has systematically taken out Al Qaeda we must by our vote and our activism take out the socialist terrorists who have shown that creating fear and their socialist ideology is more important that freedom and the people of The United States. Their day is done and their cause is finished. Their cheers which permeated the House floor after the final vote was tallied will be silenced by we the people. If they thought we were loud and angry before they have not even begun to see our wrath and revenge as we are resolved to save our Republic and our way of life from their government sponsored terrorism.

The killer has been described as a quiet and calm man whose religious belief are found in the, “peaceful,” religion of Islam. His comments to fellow soldiers before his murder spree were of complaint with US policy in Afghanistan and his future deployment to that region in which he complained that he would have to fight against, “fellow Muslims.” Was this the motive behind his actions ? It is not yet known. Could he have been a sleeper cell for terrorist activity in the US and yesterday by order from his handlers his cell was awakened like those who hijacked the planes on 9/11 ? This too is not yet known.

But once again the, “peaceful,” religion of Islam is behind the murder of innocent people and the PC press says little about the possible religious motivation behind this heinous killing spree at Fort Hood. If this had been the killing of an abortion clinic doctor, not only would the religious affiliation of the murderer been headline news but his political affiliation also. Fox News to their credit discussed the killers Muslim ties as length. CNN mentioned it in passing and MSNBC never mentioned it at all.

The President mentioned the killings almost as an after thought AFTER he praised the organizers at a conference he was attending at a press conference after the meetings. He gave a , “shout out,” to the organizers THEN and only then switched gears to speak of the tragedy at Fort Hood. Am I nitpicking here ? Absolutely. As President it is part of his responsibility when this type of tragedy strikes to console a Nation and when it strikes the military it is his responsibility as Commander in Chief to show order and calm and sympathy for his troops FIRST and not praise the organizers of meetings that fits in with his political agenda.

Now that I have that off my chest, the heroes whose lives were taken and those who remain in a hospital suffering from wounds received from the same Islamic radical who took the lives of their fellow soldiers are ALL brave Americans whose lives were cut short defending this country. Their sacrifice while not specifically on a battlefield once again brings to light the evil that we are fighting in defense of liberty against those who kill in the name of Allah.

God bless those who are still suffering from their wounds. God bless the families of the fallen and the wounded. And God bless the memories of those who were murdered in defense of freedom.

No matter how the spin is spewed by Democrats the 2009 election was a referendum on the mood of the country toward Barack Obama, Democrats and the agenda they are trying to force upon the people. Both Virginia and New Jersey were huge wins for Obama just one year ago in the Presidential race and in 2009 both states became huge losses for Democrats and a slap to Obama.

Virginia ran a Republican sweep as Bob McDonnell won the Governorship by a 19 percentage point margin. Virginia also easily elected a Republican Lt. Governor and Attorney General by similar margins and six out of seven State Assembly seats also going Republican giving a GOP majority in Richmond. Embattled Democrat Governor Corizine of New Jersey who embraced Obama’s agenda and had Presidential campaign visits five times in the last several weeks lost his Governorship to Republican Chris Christie in a state that is usually as blue as they come.

As the evening began to show just how bad Democrats were losing both the DNC and the White House remained quiet. In fact the White House claimed that Obama had gone to bed early and was not watching any returns. I guess Robert Gibbs had the cable turned off in the private quarters because if not no one can tell me with even an ounce of truth the Obama was not watching returns in which he staked so much of his political clout on through campaigning in Virginian and especially New Jersey.

The DNC sent underlings to the few interviews that they granted and the spin was not on Virginian or New Jersey but trying to tout the New York 23rd district victory as great news for the Democrat agenda since this seat has been held by Republicans for 100 years. What they forget is that the loss of the seat did not come because the Democrat was so popular but more a result of the trouble that brewed over the GOP choosing to run a liberal Republican over a conservative and the resulting third party run gave nearly 6000 wasted votes to a GOP candidate who had dropped out of the race.

The bottom line with this election is that the policies of Barack Obama and the Democrats which have been lauded by Democrats and the liberal media both are extremely unpopular with voters and they proved this by virtually shutting out Democrats in two states that were extremely blue only a year ago. Over the next few days I am sure that Obama, Pelosi and Reid will be spinning this as no big deal but the reality is that 2009 is a precursor for 2010 and if the results are any indication of next years election than 2010 will be a devastating year for Democrats.

Will this fact slow down Obama and his push for an very unpopular agenda ? I don’t think so. This President has shown that he is arrogant and cares little for what the people actually think. In fact he is under the illusion that his agenda is for the people regardless of voters response or protests that all have shown just how unpopular both he and his agenda truly are. So arrogance will continue to push for what he cannot have because in 2010 Congress is up for re-election and Obama’s arrogance does not equate to votes and a happy constituency!

Michael Steele stated that he supports Doug Hoffman in his bid and never supported the candidate chosen by the local Republican party. Newt Gingrich who initially supported the GOP candidate has since changed his support to Hoffman. Now the RNC is running radio ads supporting Hoffman urging voters in this key race to support conservative values, ideas and the Conservative party candidate. Following is an example of one of the radio spots.

“Whose side are you on?

The Pelosi/Patterson tax and spend train wreck? Or do you believe in Republican conservative values, like thrift, personal responsibility, and family. Let’s tell the liberals, enough is enough. No more bailouts, taxes and budget busting spending. It’s time to create jobs, with proven conservative ideas like lower taxes. Let your voice be heard, join the movement to bring real conservative change. Tell the politicians, no more, we won’t let you bankrupt America. We need conservative leaders who stand up for our values. Fight Back! Vote conservative, it matters like never before.”

Has this embarrassment for the GOP in the New York 23 finally become the wake up call that the party has needed for years ? And if so is the support they are showing for the conservative candidate prove that the Republican party is heeding the wake up call ? Conservative candidates are already mounting challenges to strong well known GOP candidates gearing up for primaries prior to the 2010 election. On of the most prominent challenges faces Florida’s Charlie Crist who openly supported Obama’s stimulus package angering conservatives yet still supported by the GOP.

The GOP leadership has long bought into the idea that the only way the party can win is to cater to liberal elements in the party and those elected in Congress have regularly caved into Democrat style policy of expanding government and spending like drunken sailors. Doug Hoffman’s run in New York proves that even in this most liberal of states, Americans are tired of liberal politics and are reaching out for conservative ideas and values. If the GOP is truly taking heed to this wake up call then the party stands to make great gains in 2010. If not and politics as usual continues with the GOP, conservative may totally abandon the party that has abandoned them leaving a void in the midst and a possibility of Democrats continuing as the majority party despite the fact that the majority of the country disagrees with Democrat policy and liberal ideas.

Elections are taking place in a few days and they are poised to become referendums on Obama and his agenda. The summer saw Tea Parties, which continue, and a great awakening of the American people, many of whom have never been politically involved, taking a stand as the silent majority is no longer silent and the 2009 elections look to be a precursor to 2010 and a slap to Obama.

Bob McDonnell, the Republican candidate for Virginia Governor looks unbeatable against a once popular Democrat state Senator Creigh Deeds in a state that went for Obama in the 2008. In New Jersey incumbent Governor Jon Corzine is in a dead heat race against Republican challenger Chris Christie with a more conservative and former Republican Independent Chris Daggett holding at about 12%.

The most telling race of all of the key 2009 races is the New York 23rd Congressional seat which had three candidates running for an open seat without a primary before the general election. The Republican Dierdre Scozzafava who received the party endorsement and has been showing a dismal third announced on Saturday that she was dropping out of the race. Her liberal stance on many issues prompted another former Republican Doug Hoffman to run as the Conservative party candidate and received several powerful endorsements like Sarah Palin and Fred Thompson which filled his war chest and helped bleed dry Scozzafava. Prior to her withdrawal Scozzafava was running a distant third in polling with Hoffman showing a slight lead over Democrat Bill Owens. Hoffman should easily take this seat now.

So with the Democrats crashing and the 2009 election a referendum on Obama with Democrats falling to defeat in key races, does this mean a resurging Republican party as we approach 2010 ? Polling shows NO ! In fact while the GOP has gained a slight advantage over Democrats in Congressional polling the majority of the American people still do not trust the party. Which does not bode well for 2010, at least at this point in time.

Democrats are crashing and Republicans are meandering so what choice do we conservatives have ? A recent poll has shown that conservatives are the largest ideological group in the Nation with 40% of Americans considering themselves conservative. While conservatives have traditionally voted GOP most, including myself believe that the party has abandoned us and moved to the left of our beliefs and values. The recent support of the GOP for the liberal Republican candidate in the NY 23rd and a disappointing endorsement by conservative Newt Gingrich only enforces that feeling of conservative abandonment by the GOP.

The move by the party to encompass everyone and the belief that if they follow a conservative platform it will exclude moderates and Independents has allowed the GOP to drift aimlessly without real direction nor a strong issue based platform. Which also has equated to a nest full of what are referred to as RINO Republicans in elected office who have certain conservative ideas but regularly expose their true liberal beliefs by their vote on legislation and their willingness to spend money and grow government.

So as a result their is strong support for a third party conservative alternative and the NY 23rd Congressional race is fueling this as the Conservative party candidate will likely take the formerly Republican seat. Most do not understand that if a primary had taken place in this district as is the usual practice before a general election, conservative Doug Hoffman WOULD have been the GOP candidate. So the election is serving both as primary and general election which has brought about the end of Scozzafava’s campaign and a likely victory for Hoffman.

Yet the abandonment of conservatism as a whole still exists and conservatives are looking for an answer. Many believe by her recent moves and her endorsement of Hoffman in New York, that Sarah Palin is leading up to a Conservative party run for the Presidency in 2012. A move that she has not mentioned but that many are almost hoping for.

Historically a third party run on a national stage like a Presidential election has only split one party allowing the other to win the election. It happened to Republican William Taft in the 1912 election as Teddy Roosevelt started the Bull Moose party out of anger against Taft which propelled Democrat Woodrow Wilson to the White House.

In 1992 Ross Perot won 18% of the vote as the Reform party candidate which allowed a victory for Democrat Bill Clinton as 80% of Perot’s total came from Republicans who chose not to vote for George H. W. Bush allowing Clinton to take the White House with only 43% of the vote. With historical precedence going against a third party run as a possibility for the future with conservatives who have been abandoned by the GOP, what choice do we have ?

Do what Ronald Reagan did. When Reagan first came to prominence on the national stage after winning the Governorship in California, the Republican party consisted of Country Club Republicans who had a moderate middle of the road platform which left many socials issues dear to conservatives out in the cold and believed in spending and expanding government, much like the GOP of today.

Reagan nearly defeated incumbent Gerald Ford at the 1976 Republican convention but the Country Club leaders of the GOP were still the driving force in the party and through back room deals managed to defeat Reagan on the last vote giving the nomination to Ford and the Presidency to Carter.

In the next four years Reagan took his conservative platform to the people. He fought the idea of big government and increased taxes at every opportunity. He campaigned against the socialist type programs being legislated by Jimmy Carter and the Democrat Congress. At every turn Reagan condemned the appeasing Carter’s foreign policy against the Soviet Union and touted a strong military and a hard line stance against Communism and the Soviets.

In the short time between 1976 and 1980 Reagan transformed the GOP from the Country Club to the everyday conservative American and as a result forced the Republican party into becoming the conservative party because if they had not, Reagan’s message would have caused a massive out cry from grassroots conservative Republicans much like that which is taking place now.

Reagan’s philosophy was not to allow the GOP to abandon conservatism but by the force of our message cause the GOP to embrace it and embrace it they did. The GOP and conservatism became synonymous with one another. That is until the last several years as the Country Club has moved back in but this time the association of Reagan conservatism to the GOP has caused the press to claim that Republicanism and Conservatism are one in the same. They are not and we conservatives know it.

So how do we force the GOP to embrace conservatism as the path to victory ? Do as Reagan did. Support conservative candidates with our time, our voice and our money. When Reagan was asked about whether the conservative platform was leaving out liberal Republicans his response was, “we don’t need them!” At every opportunity we need to let Michael Steele and the RNC know that if they want to win in 2010 and beyond then a strong and true conservative platform is the ONLY way that 40% of America will support the party.

You may ask, how can 40% win. Well Reagan showed the way there also. As he campaigned on his conservative message Independents and more conservative Democrats embraced the message and the movement because they did not like the direction that Jimmy Carter and Democrats were taking this country. Again much like today as Democrats and especially Independents are becoming more and more troubled with Obama, Reid and Pelosi and are searching for an answer to their disillusionment.

Reagan presented strong and true conservatism as the answer against Carter and we can do the same today against Obama. Just like Reagan we can take the GOP and lead to a conservative victory with a strong conservative platform and candidates who stand by and will vote for conservative ideas which are the true Constitutional principles that have sustained this nation since it birth. We cannot split the vote like 1912 and 1992 or we will be faced with another four years of Obama and the complete and total destruction of what will be left of our proud Republic. We can and we must, for the sake of the Nation take back the GOP and return the sanity of true and strong conservative leadership.

Obama claims that health care is all but a done deal and that it will be passed making the government the guardian of the health care for every citizen of this country. Whether his confidence is arrogance, misguided optimism or both remains to be seen but recent activity by Obama and a key vote which took place in the Senate last week shows that Obama is acting out of desperation. Desperation that stems from not only the inability to get legislation but the massive unpopularity of this center piece of Obama’s agenda.

Never before has a President set himself so decisively against the will of the American people as Obama has on the issue of health care. Poll after poll including some of the most liberal polls have shown that the majority of the people are against health care because no matter which option is being discussed, each results in government involvement and the people want no part of government in health care.

The Town Halls, protests and constant bombardment at White House and Congressional e-mails and phone lines back up the polling showing the total lack of support for health care. Yet Obama has chosen to side against that American people and it not only has sparked desperate moves on his part but has destroyed his once thought untouchable popularity with most polling having him at 50% or lower.

Last week the first floor vote on the issue of health care took place in the Senate. Harry Reid and Democrats have been secretly meeting behind closed doors for nearly two weeks discussing health care on both Capitol Hill and occasionally at the White House. These meetings have been covered by Fox News and mostly neglected by the rest of the media which follows the nearly all positive coverage of anything that this administration does by media with the exception of Fox.

Secret meetings are in direct contrast to the claims of transparency by Barack Obama yet most of the health care decisions have been made behind closed doors. The floor vote which took place last week was over a provision for the Senate bill which would provide more than 200 billion dollars of funding for the debacle to be taken from Medicare which would have brought the cost of the Baucus bill down from nearly one TRILLION dollars to just over 700 billion.

Of course the provision would have decreased seniors benefits but it would have given the illusion of health care being paid for and not increasing the deficit. Of course this illusion was nothing more than a scam to deceive the people into believing that this monstrosity was not a budget buster but Harry Reid took it to the floor of the Senate for a vote with closed door assurances that not only would the votes to pass this scam be there but that the AMA and the AARP both backed this scam.

When the final votes were tallied 13 Democrats joined every Republican and Reid not only lost the vote but lost it big with only 43 votes in favor of the provision. A devastating blow to health care and a strong indication that the bill was in danger of not passing because the support so touted favoring the bill by legislators is not there and may not be there for future votes in either the House or the Senate.

Combine this with the fact that the Senate version does not have a public, (government), option and that Nancy Pelosi had emphatically stated that she would NOT allow a bill without the option on the floor of the House and it creates the possibility that even with Senate passage the bill will NEVER make it through the committees which reconciles House and Senate bills. Making a distinct probability that health care may legislatively be virtually dead in the water.

Obama’s continual diving popularity adds to this possibility as those in Congress without strong Presidential coat tails are not and will not be willing to stick their necks out in opposition to the American people in order to vote for health care. So the Senate vote was a huge and possibly completely devastating set back to Obama’s push for health care.

He and Congressional leaders are still showing a confident front to the public but desperation is setting in and that was proven by a move made by Obama concerning the H1N1 , Swine flu, virus. Saturday, which is an almost non-existent news day Obama declared H1N1 a National Emergency claiming the move would open up more availability for the vaccine and allow hospitals to use facilities other than their own if the virus causes large out breaks needing isolation treatment.

This move came only two days after the World Health Organization, the UN watch dog for health related problems, announced that the H1N1 our break was much smaller than anticipated and that the worldwide death toll was less than 5000, which also was far less than anticipated. Both indications that the pandemic scare which came when this virus was first discovered is likely not going to happen.

Looking at facts concerning H1N1 especially in comparison to the seasonal flu, the virus is nothing more than a minor blip on the health scale yet Obama has declared it a National Emergency. There have already been more than 200,000 cases of the seasonal flu with most states recording widespread out breaks and the death toll in the US alone from the seasonal strain has exceeded the worldwide toll for H1N1. In fact the US averages nearly 36,000 deaths each year from the seasonal flu and yet it is not considered a National Emergency.

H1N1 has recorded less than 1000 cases in the US with only a hand fill of deaths associated with the virus and Obama declares a National Emergency doing so on a day when few Americans pay even a moments attention to the news. Is this a sign of desperate actions being taken in order to pass health care ? Rahm Emanuel, White House Chief of Staff stated earlier this year that a ,”crisis,” should never be wasted. This was in reference to the economic crisis and Obama’s push for the massive stimulus bill which has failed miserably.

So is it just a coincidence that health care is failing and that Obama declares a National Emergency for a virus that is to date nothing more than a news created crisis ? The number of Americans who have been diagnosed and treated for H1N1 does not warrant a declaration for a National Emergency which is why I believe that this is a political move by Obama to pressure legislators into passing health care. Creating a , “crisis,” to use as a means of arm twisting Congress into backing Obamacare as their ,”patriotic,” duty due to the, “National Emergency.”

So as not to be accused of creating a public panic in conjunction with the arm twisting move by issuing the declaration, it was made on the slowest news day of the week so that most Americans would not realize that an emergency had been declared. But Congress is well aware of the emergency and I can guarantee that already on Capitol Hill Rahm Emanuel and other White House staff have been making calls ,”urging,” legislators to side with the President on health care in light of the health related National Emergency.

Desperate measures taken by a desperate President who sees his agenda failing and the center piece of that agenda possibly not even making it to a vote due to differing views in the House and Senate. Has Obama seen the hand writing on the wall for health care and used his Executive Powers to create the crisis he deems necessary to force passage ? If this is the case, which I believe it is, then the pressure which will be brought to bare on members of Congress will be intense. So we as the majority who oppose this health care debacle must make the pressure we have already been creating much more than that by the White House.

When a President takes desperate measures as it seems Obama has, it is a last ditch effort to achieve what he sees slipping through his political hands. With next year being an election year this gives the people a distinct advantage over a desperate White House in making our voice heard above the fray of the likes of Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod. We are winning this fight and Obama knows it. Keep up the pressure and we the people will prevail!

White House Chief of Staff Rham Emanuel and White House Senior Advisor David Axelrod using similar talking points declared Sunday that the administration did not recognize Fox News as a news organization and encouraged other news organizations to, “side with the administration,” in this unheard of stance against the cable news network.

This attack by the top senior staffers in the White House follows a similar action taken only a few days earlier by Anita Dunn, the White House Communications Director when she accused Fox News of being nothing more than a ,”mouth piece,” for the Republican party and that in her view the news organization has no credibility because their only intent is to bring down the Obama administration.

Dunn in an earlier move following an interview conducted by Chris Wallace of Fox News Sunday with the Director of Veterans Affairs in which he questioned a booklet issued by the VA which instructs Vets on how to die gracefully rather than accept treatment, Wallace was informed by Dunn that the White House would no longer send representatives to the show because Wallace, “fact checked,” the official White House line on the subject.

Ms. Dunn, isn’t fact checking the job of a journalist ? But that is only the case when the fact check has nothing to do with the rhetoric coming from the Obama White House. This is a blatant attack against the First Amendment right of freedom of the press because the reasoning behind this war with Fox News is nothing more than the news organizations balanced and concise reporting of the truth about the administration and its agenda and policy.

Fox is the only television news source that is asking the hard questions. It is the only television news source that is not just regurgitating the White House line but is actually investigating the facts and telling Americans the real truth about what is happening, good or bad, which is precisely what a news organization is supposed to do.

Throughout his campaign and extending into his Presidency, Barack Obama has been given a virtual free ride by the liberal media and has not been asked tough questions, in fact other than Fox News not one Television media source even questions anything that the administration does but rather only report what they are told by the White House.

Accusations initially began against Fox News by the White House because of conservative commentators like Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck whose Fox programs are not news shows but in actuality televisions version of Opinion Editorials in the news paper. They reflect the thoughts and beliefs of the commentator. Yet even these shows have had their impact because in their own truth gathering they have revealed many problems in the administration. Most prominent was the Glenn Beck story about radical Van Jones which eventually led to his resignation as one of Obama’s many Czars.

The actual news shows on Fox like Bret Baier at 6 PM Eastern and Shepard Smith at 7 PM as well as similar programming throughout the broadcast day are true journalistic news shows that cover the news as it happens with in depth reporting that is truly fair and balanced as Fox claims. This is what troubles the Obama administration with Fox. Unlike outlets like the alphabet networks and CNN and MSNBC, Fox presents all sides of a story and does not just repeat White House talking points. Obama obviously cannot handle being questioned about what he does so therefore his administration is seeking to discredit Fox News because they report the truth no matter what that truth may be.

This fair and balanced approach by Fox unlike their competition is driving them to record ratings while all other news outlets are falling like a rock. Fox is up more than 25% over this point last year and in a non-election year. This rise in audience is unheard of outside of an election especially when the numbers Fox is competing against are FROM and election year. At any given time in the day or night Fox programing has a three and four to one audience advantage over the combined audiences of CNN, MSNBC and Headline News. Fox also beats out the NBC Nightly News and the CBS Evening News on a regular basis.

Dick Morris in a recent poll discovered that 50% of the Fox audience in made up of Democrats and Independents and not just Republicans as the administration claims, and those numbers are growing. His polling also shows that 1 out of every 5 Americans watches Fox News daily. These numbers speak for themselves. So in a war between the Obama administration and Fox News who wins ? Thus far it is Fox as the flak created by the administration is causing more to check out Fox and numbers are showing that those who view the network stick with it because of is balanced reporting.

The Founders included freedom of the press in the First Amendment almost as a fourth branch of government in order to keep the politicians and the other branches in check by scrutinizing them through journalism and informing the people of what was happening in their government. The press Constitutionally was never intended to be a mouth piece for anyone especially the President and the federal government. Yet this is what Obama expects and frankly with the exception of Fox, what he has received from the television press. Not a free press investigation and informing the people but a media propaganda machine spewing the Obama line in the fashion of Joseph Goebbels who manipulated all news for Hitlers Germany.

The last sitting President who directly took on what they considered a hostile press was Richard Nixon when he created an enemies list of journalists who were investigating him because of Watergate. The result of Nixon’s war on the press is documented historically by his resignation. It was the revelations by that very same press about the illegal activities taking place at the Nixon White House that eventually led to his downfall.

Obama’s war against Fox is benefiting the news organization and bringing harsh condemnation against the administration even from some very staunch liberal journalist. Most prominent of those is White House corespondent for the Hearst Corporation Helen Thomas, who has been on the White House beat since Andrew Jackson was President. She makes no bones about her liberal beliefs and has stated that this action by the administration is crazy and wrong. She has been critical before of Obama press practices as she challenged Press Secretary Robert Gibbs on the practice by Obama of choosing questioners at a press conference prior to the conference.

Freedom of the press is one of our basic fundamental rights and freedoms in this country. For a sitting President to challenge the right of a highly respected news organization like Fox and to attempt to discredit them while soliciting the assistance of their competition in doing so is a direct attack to freedom and our Constitution by the one individual who took an oath to protect the very Constitution he and his staff are attacking. In a war with Fox the ultimate winner will be the news organization as viewership will continue to rise. But the real looser in this type of war are the American people and the country as the President uses fascist tactics to try and prevent the truth from being told.

Not so with Barack Obama. Only days from the culmination of his first full nine months as President and Obama STILL takes every opportunity to place the blame for current problems on Bush and the Republicans rather than accepting any responsibility for the current state of affairs both domestically and with foreign policy.

As recently as a few days ago at a Democrat fund raiser in San Francisco, Obama once again blamed Bush for current affairs and Republicans for obstructing his agenda. Since taking office Obama has not yet figured out two things. One, how to stop constantly campaigning and two, how to accept ANY responsibility for current events here at home and abroad.

This continual campaign mode I believe comes from the fact that campaigning is his only true experience as a national politician and as such it is all that he knows how to do. Look at his flimsy record. He was a US Senator for three years and during that time he spent the majority of it campaigning for President. Additionally when one campaigns, blaming the opposition is an essential part of campaigning in order to garner votes.

So as a professional campaigner Obama knows nothing more than to blame the opposition for everything even when most is a result from initiatives that are directly related to his agenda and not his predecessors.

As far as his claim that Republicans need to get out of the way and let him clean up the mess they made. Let’s look at the facts. First, Republicans have not been the majority in Congress since 2006 and much of what Obama is facing today has taken place since the Democrat take over of Congress three years ago. Second, he has a 60 vote majority in the Senate and a 76 vote majority in the House which means that Republicans CANNOT stop anything so how can they be obstructing Obama’s agenda. The problem with getting his agenda passed lies within his OWN party not Republicans.

As far as his claim that Bush is the problem with everything he faces and that he , “inherited,” everything from Bush. Again let’s look at the facts. When Obama took office the projected deficit for fiscal year 2009 was about 484 billion dollars, not good but minimal in comparison to the 1.9 trillion dollar deficit that Obama created through his spending and government expansion. The projected deficit for fiscal 2010 by the Bush administration was again just under 500 billion under Obama that deficit has ballooned to 1.45 trillion and growing. So who is truly the blame for the massive deficit ?

The deficit is not the only thing that Obama tries to blame on Bush. Unemployment is hovering at about 10% with no end in sight for the current rise in unemployment. When pushing for the stimulus according to the bill itself, if left alone, without ANY , “stimulus,” unemployment would have peaked at 9%. According to their own projections, Obama’s bill concluded that if passed unemployment would peak at 8% in 2010 and begin falling as a result of the bill. None of which has happened and the reality is that the stimulus has INCREASED unemployment and not saved any jobs with each month bringing hundreds on thousands of new job closings. Obama carries the total responsibility as it was his stimulus that increased unemployment well beyond projections.

Also was it Bush who lobbied for and signed a 787 billion dollar stimulus that has stimulated nothing? Was it Bush who ignored his Commander in the Afghanistan theatre when asking for an additional 40,000 troops and then continually dragging his feet in even responding or considering the request and strategy ? Was it Bush who toured the world apologizing for American greatness ? Was it Bush who nationalized GM and Chrysler ? Was it Bush who use TARP funds to move to take over banks rather than just bail them out ?

On the subject of administration appointees, was it Bush who appointed several tax cheats and known Communists to the administration ? Was it Bush who appointed an Educational Czar who advised children to use protection when criminally sodomized by an adult ? As far as the vetting process being the blame for these disgusting appointments, this is just another excuse used by the Obama administration to avoid the truth and responsibility for terrible appointments.

I do not believe for one moment that vetting is the problem with these appointments. In actuality each of the appointees shared the same political philosophy and beliefs as Obama so what they had in their past was an attribute for Obama and it was only when objection came from the public that the administration backed away from some, while staying quiet about the rest in order to keep them in place waiting for the flak to subside.

Obama has consistently refused to take responsibility for anything that has taken place since he took office. When questioned on any subject that concerns the economy, Obama’s first response is that he , “inherited,” the problem from Bush, NEVER taking any responsibility for what he has done to make matters far worse. Using the example of inheriting money from an estate, the individual who inherits the money inherits it ONLY once. What they do with it after the fact is their responsibility and theirs alone.

Obama inherited economic problems once. What he has done to work those problems has resulted in failure and a far worse situation that previously projected. The excuse that he did not have the full extent of the problem when making his projections is unacceptable. As President of The United States he had every means and all available resources to access in order to have ALL of the information. So this too is a lame and ridiculous excuse.

The economic problems we face are his not Bush’s. The problems in Afghanistan are his not Bush’s. The problem in passing his agenda falls in his party not Republican obstruction because many of his own party members in Congress know that he is taking the wrong approach and that if they side with him they will lose any chance of re-election in 2010.

Most importantly the American people know that the responsibility for the wrong direction of the country and the problems we now face fall to the current resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and NOT the person who lived there ten months ago. For Obama to arrogantly think that we believe his blame Bush policy is absurd and an insult to the intelligence of the people. We don’t buy it for one moment and he needs to accept the responsibility for the mess that HE created. Or as Harry Truman so truthfully noted with the sign on his desk while President, “the buck stops here.” Mr. Obama the buck stops with you and you are responsible for this mess!

There have been so many Constitutional questions concerning much of Obama’s agenda but this one particular mandate found in the health care agenda is one of the most blatant Constitutional violations, yet no one was challenging this attack by every health care proposal on our freedom and our Constitutional rights. Well FINALLY the Constitutional question concerning the mandate to purchase health care coverage is being raised and if this long overdue challenge is successful it will be the legal and binding death to all forms of Obamacare.

Fox News is reporting that Constitutional attorney David Rivkin is calling the mandate to purchase health care, “an unprecedented imposition on individual liberty.” Officers of The Congressional Budget Office stated, “The government has never required people to buy any good or service, as condition of lawful residence in the United States.” And according to the CBO this one center piece of Obamacare is, “the most challenging question,” about the health care debate because it is unprecedented in its theft of individual liberty.

Those who defend the mandate to purchase health care use the Interstate Commerce Clause which allows the Congress to regulate all interstate commerce and because health care supplies, medicines, etc. are subject to interstate commerce, Congress can mandate the purchase of health care under the clause. But again it still comes down to the question of the Constitutional authority of Congress to require Americans to purchase anything.

The argument using automobile insurance as a requirement example of mandated purchasing does not hold water for two reasons. First if someone does not drive then they are not required to purchase auto insurance except in states where it is required to have a drivers license, but not for a legal ID. Second auto insurance is not for the protection of the one purchasing the insurance but for the protection of those who may be involved in an accident with the policy holder. Health care under the mandate will be required regardless of choice or condition and it is for the purchaser and not to protect someone else.

According to Rivik the insurance requirement is an attempt to dictate personal behavior and, “What’s unique about here is the mandate imposed on individuals is merely because they live.” Raising Constitutional questions about this health care debacle is long overdue and the legal avenue needed to insure that this monstrosity is not passed and forced on the American people. The only remaining question is, ” will Obama and Congressional leadership bow to the restraints and protection of rights in our Constitution which they so obviously have shown little if any adherence to since Obama took office ?” We shall see. It is up to we the people to hold their feet to the Constitutional fire !
