If There Is a Bill to Defund Planned Parenthood, These GOP Senators Will OPPOSE It

Republicans are in control of Congress. A Republican (of some sort) is in the White House. In general, the GOP has absolutely no excuse over – at least – the next two years to get things accomplished.

Many are hoping that defunding abortion giant Planned Parenthood is on this time-sensitive To Do list.

As my colleague Scott Hounsell wrote on Monday, Cecile Richards quickly rejected an offer from President Trump that would fund PP clinics as long as they stopped performing the legal homicide of abortion. Of course, this rejection was hardly surprising. First trimester abortions in PP clinics can cost up to $1,500. This is not only big business, it’s the main business they’re engaged in. And at more than 320,000 abortions per year, they’re doing well. The shredded remains of their tiny victims are not.

So yes, we do hope that Planned Parenthood is defunded. Any organization which takes lives on a daily basis should not be given taxpayer funds. I do not care if this specific dollar is the dollar used to scrape or vacuum lives out of wombs. It matters little. Their mission is murder, and nothing under their roof is the government’s responsibility to fund.

If the GOP can get their act together in time and submit a bill to defund, two female “Republicans” in the Senate will oppose it.

And who are the spineless women? You won’t be surprised. They are Senator Lisa Murkowski from Alaska, and Senator Susan Collins from Maine.

LifeNews reports:

“Taxpayer dollars should not be used to pay for abortions, but I will not vote to deny Alaskans access to the health services that Planned Parenthood provides.”

The news is not a surprise. Murkowski has defended the abortion giant Planned Parenthood numerous times. In 2011, she stood up for the abortion group’s taxpayer funding even after undercover videos showed staff at Planned Parenthood assisting alleged sex traffickers in getting abortions and STD testing for the girls they victimize.

Sen. Susan Collins, a moderate Republican from Maine…

“If the House Republicans want to bring it up, it should be in a separate bill. I would oppose that bill…

Along with not caring about unborn life, these two falsely promote the idea that Planned Parenthood is an absolute necessity in the lives of American women. Comprehensive women’s healthcare clinics, which don’t also perform abortions, outnumber Planned Parenthood 20 to 1. Women’s health in America would not suddenly deteriorate because Planned Parenthood no longer received federal dollars.

And, let’s be clear, despite the handwringing by the pro-abortionists, Planned Parenthood would not cease to exist without those monies.

The Republican Party has fashioned itself as the pro-life party that stands against federal dollars funding abortion in any way. It’s shameful that two GOP senators would be among those who would torpedo a bill that would finally see an end to a murderous organization like Planned Parenthood receiving money from American taxpayers.
