Obama, and the Future to Conservatism

From what I have seen and read so far, it seems that the Obama administration is going for a center-left approach. This would make sense as it would sure up all liberals and some conservatives plus those uninformed or voting for a historical marker in terms of race. I do, however, have a fear that no matter how centrist Obama tries to be, that there will be some sort of attempt to assasinate him. The sad thing is that if this attempt were to occur, what would happen to the conservative movement?

The public would be more than likely to assume it was from some racist. And since the Republican party lost this election, the public would equally be more likely to assume an assasination success or failure was from someone who held ideals of the losing party. Therefor, can we not assume further destruction of the GOP from racists with whom we do do not share values with? Afterall, it was the Republican party that took a harsh stand against slavery. However, history isn’t so forgiving to the ignorant or misguided masses.

It took years after the Civil War for the South to trust the Republicans on issues of concern to them, such as values. Now that the South has virtually switched to conservative ideals, our party carries a double-edged sword. Yes, maybe the South isn’t as racist as it was, but if someone who is black gets assasinated who is responsible? The Republican party has always been the party of what is morally right. We can’t let the potential of an assasination destroy what we stand for…

What can we conservatives, republicans, and conservative Democrats do to win this race?

All conservatives please post your suggestions and links!

A lot of the conservative base is fired up now that McCain has chosen his VP. However, a lot of us conservatives are in the fog about how we can make a difference other than use our vote. Sure we can try to persuade people, but we don’t have any control as to who they choose at the ballot box. Perhaps if some members post sites and links to us conservatives that will lead us to other ways of making sure McCain gets elected, then we will have victory for 08!

The sad thing is that there has been reporting that people won’t vote for Obama because of his race… well why hasn’t there been reporting about the 90%+ voting margin for black registered voters who are choosing Obama? Doesn’t the media think there is a race factor in that too?

GOP Convention and Gustav, Damned if they do and Damned if they don’t

The decision to cancel key speakers and events...

While I am glad that McCain picked a VP to energize the base and perhaps the female voting population, I can’t help but worry that hurricane Gustav could be the nail in the coffin. I would gladly like some optimism to counter-weight my pessimism. However, the facts are that the DNC rally gave Obama a pretty decent jump in the polls over McCain. While he did rebound somewhat the next few days after his vp pick, I am worried that ordinary Americans will be too focused on the events of Gustav to be concerned about what is happening at the RNC. The RNC has the choice to let the show go on, albeit less exciting. If they make the event exciting and positive, the attacks will come from the other side like “how can you celebrate during a crisis like this!”. At the same time if the RNC doesn’t show some excitement then we probably won’t see much of a jump in the polls for the Republican candidate.

Yes many Americans will see it as admirable that the Republican party members put the people before the convention, but the media won’t see it that way. They will probably point it out as political opportunism. The sad thing is that if the Republicans didn’t alter plans it would have been seen as evil or uncaring about the public. Will the media acknowledge the Republican Bobby Jindal helped a successful evacutation and that we were more prepared this time (even with Bush in the White House). I would assume that if Gustav struck New Orleans next year with Obama as president and the same outcome occurred, we would hear about how much more effective Obama and the Democrats were at handling national disasters.

My wish list is that the Republicans delay the event altogether by a week (it is my understanding that they have the convention hall rented until mid-September) rather than cancel speakers and alter plans. McCain should give a speech about how the State and Local governments played a big part in the successful evacuation this time around… and that people shouldn’t rely on the federal government alone. The Republicans could turn this storm to their advantage if they hold off on their convention rather than alter it. We can’t let the Democrats win simply because a God that most of their left-wing/secular-progressive constituents don’t believe in taught the Republicans a lesson.

Obama’s Change Mantra

Barack Obama, Joseph Obiden, Change

There is a lot of talk withint the Obama campain about “change” from the current administration or status quo. However, we are not exactly sure what Obama means by change. Change, in itself, mean something different than what we are currently used to. Is change always good? Obviously not! You could say that Hitler offered change from the democratic Germany in the 1930′s. I am not saying that Obama is going to institute the radical ideas of Hitler, I am only saying that saying you are going to change things, does not always mean it is in the best interest of the country.

Lets face it, Obama is a radical backed up by the media as a moderate of sorts among the democratic party. However, when you look at his vp choice… Biden… you can’t help but think that Obama is using the term change falsely. Joe Biden is deeply entrenched in Washington politics and special interests. Obama only picked him as a vp to counterweight his inexperience with foreign policy. Now lets see…

Universal healthcare is certainly a change… but is it a good change? Look at Canada and the UK. They both have residents who flock to countries (such as ours) that have private healthcare so they can receive the care they need in a timely manner.

America was founded on the ideals that people can create their own future, their own wealth, their own lifestyle… based on their on hardwork. America was never meant to be a socialist state that caters people from the cradle to the grave. We already have European countries that do that, so why can’t we have a nation that isn’t like Europe? What can’t we have a pure capitalist nation that people can use to their advantage to fulfill their happiness? If people want to live in a country where the govt provides everything then why not go to Europe? Let America be what it is meant to be, and that certainly insn’t a socialist state.

The Democrats(socialists/some communists) have changed their platform since the 60s against the Republicans to make it look like they were for a colorblind America. How false this notion could be. Affirmative action is far from being colorblind party platform and taxing the successful (aka the rich, but not the rich who know to hide their money overseas)is only another examply of socialistic semi-communistic aspects of the democratic party.

In all honesty, the democrats need people to be poor… need people to be jealous… need people to be angry. What would happen if the people woke and realized that with a lot of hard work they could live the American dream. And if they were true American’s, they would donate their extra wealth to charities for the poor (which conservatives do by a huge margin compared to liberals). For those who are religious, Jesus said help the poor within your own abilities. The govt taking your money and giving it to the poor without your consent is not righteous. The government is not an entity that can transcend death and live in heaven.

Hurricane Gustav

Do Dems actually believe God caused this?

It is interesting to note that Micheal Moore has mentioned to Keith Olbermann that it is probably God’s justice to republicans for the hurricane.

http://www.eyeblast.tv/public/video.aspx?RsrcID=34900

Can you imagine if this hurricane happened during a democratic convention? It would probably be seen by Michelle Moore and his liberal tv cronies as a sign from god (who I doubt they believe in) that the democrats need to take climate change as their main argument in this election. However, since it is happening during a Republican convention… Mr. Moore wants to say that he knows there is a god and that god is trying to show the Republicans of the errors in their ways. What isn’t good sending more disasters to other countries that pollute or rely on carbon emissions (China)? Oh wait China just had an earthquake, nevermind. My bad… the libs are always right. They can turn any catastrophic/natural earthly event against the Republicans.

Forget Bush, McCain/Palin are a new direction

Bush and McCain Theory

It is already obvious. The democrats and the liberal media are going to do everything in their power to stop a McCain presidency and that includes simple classifications. The main point here is that right now our economy is hitting hard times with the housing market and the high oil prices. Since Americans are feeling these pains, the democrats are taking advantage of it and trying to frame it as a Republican induced issue (even though the economy has strongly rebounded since Sept. 11th thanks to the Bush tax cuts). I would hate to think what the economy would be like if Bush hadn’t gave us those tax cuts (I am a lower middle-class American btw).

Their main argument will be… “Look, the economy is going south while George Bush is the commander in chief. George Bush is a Republican and that is the same party that John McCain and Palin belong to! So therefor if you elect them the problems we have are only going to get worse because they will follow the policies of the Bush administration that got us into this mess!”

First of the, the Bush administration didn’t get us into this mess. The world oil market is mostly to blame… and you can blame Democrats and environmentalists for that problem more so then Bush. Keep in mind that the democrats have a decent majority in congress. McCain and Palin both want to decrease our dependency on foreign oil by accessing oil in our own territories! Sure Barack is slightly open to the idea (only because of 70%+ poll figures from Americans) but McCain also backs alternative energy in the long term. Yes it would be great if we could be energy independent outside of oil, but we don’t have the technology to do that right now! McCain’s approach would be to drill and give us the oil we need to be more independent while simultaneously developing alternative fuels. Alternative resources are the future, however… that future isn’t here yet… and we NEED oil. We don’t need a socialist president who beckons to the extremist environmentalists in his party and tells Americans to inflate their tires to reduce gas prices. Or perhaps rather get used to the gas prices and drive less.

The only argument the Obama campaign and all his allies in the media are going to use is that McCain is just going to continue the failed policies of the Bush administration. Well exactly “what” failed policies is he talking about? I wish his campaign would be more clear. The only failed policy I can see is that we aren’t drilling for more oil. If it comes to Iraq, I can’t imagine what a “failed” policy it would be to bring our troops home prematurely from an oil rich nation and have that nation collapse and drive oil prices up even higher and cause more economic downfall in our nation.

Bush has made many mistakes, but just because McCain belongs to the same party as him doesn’t mean things will be the same. Obama seems to want to have a policy like the Carter administration…. uh didn’t our country suffer under that too? Could we not say that Obama wants to continue the same old failed policies of the Carter administration?
