When Will Obama’s Actual Birth Certificate Surface?

[UPDATE:  As of late yesterday afternoon, the Governor of Hawaii is saying in an interview that he's FOUND IT!  Eureka! Hallelujah! We can all rest easy now, I guess, secure in the knowledge that Barack Hussein Obama is actually, legally and constitutionally, eligible to be the POTUS.  ;)

The Governor is going to "do what we can..." whatever that means.

"It actually exists in the archives, written down," he said.  ... ""We'll do what we can as quickly as we can to make it inevitable that only those who wish the President ill, only the ones with a political agenda, will be the ones doing this kind of thing,"

What does "this kind of thing...." mean?  If he means playing hide-and-seek with the public, I would say that the blame for "this kind of thing" rests squarely on the people in charge of Vital Records in Hawaii.  I, of course, can take no credit for the Governor's new-found ability to search the vital records of his own state to produce and verify the birth records of the child of a personal acquaintance/friend who is now a pretty important person.]

At the beginning of this whole question, I tried hard not to be a ‘birther’.  I don’t know whether I am a ‘birther’ now, but the longer time goes on, and the weirder the prevarications become, the more questions I have about our President’s long-form statement of live birth here in the United States.

The more time that passes, the stranger and more politically intrigued the question becomes.  It should be a simple question that anyone could have resolved in an instant, with reference to a bonafide document, but the more time passes, the more convoluted the story becomes.  And that makes think a couple of things:

1) There is a real long-form statement of Live Birth for Barack Hussein Obama somewhere in Hawaii and nobody has found it yet, despite the Governor of Hawaii’s attempts to search for it.

In #1, what I would do as the President is wait as long as possible to show it, to maximize the impact on the Birther movement.  Keep it building, keep denying it’s a problem so that the voices grow more and more fervent and then !WHAM! hit them with the evidence, knocking all the wind out of their sails.

2) The long-form birth certificate from Hawaii doesn’t exist, but eventually some fascimile of it will be trotted out before the 2012 elections to accomplish much of the same thing as in #1, but with another fraud tacked on top of it.

3) There *is no* long-form birth certificate from Hawaii and no fraudulent document can be produced that will convince anyone.  In which case the President is in really big trouble, Constitutionally speaking.

I just don’t know.  I keep wondering about why the President and anyone else might want to play around with something so simple, so basic, and so seemingly simple to solve and/or refute, but all I see are media manipulations, and those manipulations have actually started me wondering whether there’s something to this idea that Barack Hussein Obama’s live birth certificate in Hawaii really just doesn’t exist.

If the Governor of Hawaii was telling the truth, he could have produced it two weeks ago, but apparently he’s still searching for it.  Why?  I can’t think of any reason except that he really can’t find it, or he is waiting for the moment of maximum impact to reveal it.

The thing that gets me about it is that I know there are people in this country who could very credibly validate the birth certificate in a responsible and scientific forensic fashion if one were shown to them.  We have experts on every kind of printed document that has ever been produced by humankind here in this country.  If a certificate was produced, and if it was real, it shouldn’t be a problem to verify its authenticity through a number of forensic means.  I would imagine such a task would be duck soup to a real art historian, for example, someone who works with old texts and works of art.  Someone at the Smithsonian surely has the expertise to validate that document, if it exists.  Lay the question to rest and let’s stop the enormous waste of people time and energy on the speculation.  That to me would seem to be something the President would be interested in doing here at this point in America - to positively stop people from wasting any more valuable time on absoultely frivolous things.

I can’t make a poll here at Redstate, so I’ll just put the options here and let people put their votes in the comments:

“WHEN WILL BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA’S LONG FORM HAWAIIAN CERTIFICATE OF LIVE BIRTH BE SHOWN?”

1) At the precise moment Barack Hussein Obama decides it will do the most damage to people asking the question, and not before.

2) Whenever anyone finds it in Hawaii.

3) Sometime after Obama is no longer the President after losing the election because of it.

4) Never, because it doesn’t matter to anyone, even if the whole thing is a put-up job.

Neither of Honolulu’s primary hospitals have any records of Obama’s birth– which is odd. And his mom hadn’t been in the country for a long enough time prior to the baby’s birth to meet permanent residency requirements as they were constituted in 1961. I think it is very likely his grandparents (whose address was used in the birth announcement in the newspaper) filed the Certificate of Live Birth on his mother’s behalf (better, in their judgement, for a baby to be of American heritage, than Kenyan. I would have done the same thing). I think it is as likely that Obama was born in Kenya (as his aunt says), as it is that he was born in the States.

None of this matters, however. He was certified as President of the United States by the Senate. He is the President. However, I DO wonder, when he places his name in consideration for 2012, if some jurisdictions might be a little less deferential to this, and might demand actual proofs of natural citizenship.

than they did the last time. And even if one or two states did buy into this nonsense, any action they took would be quickly shot down in court. The only way he does no run in 2012 will be if he chooses not to. Birther crap will not be the end to his presidency, period,

We can beat him without all this birther nonsense.

  • powertothepeople

He is a citizen, he was born of an American mother even if you want to buy into the conspiracies he was born in Kenya which would discredit many accounts from several sources that say otherwise, he is not bound by any rule to give us his birth certificate, and this continued crap is just making us look like fools.

He is a freakin American citizen and this crap needs to stop. We will fire him without all this nonsense.

I have no clue as to why so many can not understand that this hurts our side, there are plenty enough VALID reasons to use to get people motivated to fire the bum, and even if it was all true, not one damn thing would be done about it. No one is going to step up and start proceedings against him and even if they did, no where near enough votes. This does nothing but give very powerful ammunition to the left and they know how to use it.

This does not belong her on this site or any other legitimate site. And I am very surprised to see who authored this.

Sometimes the search for enduring truth does make someone “look” foolish– For example, I am sure all those sweaty guys in a closed-in hall in Philadelphia in 1787 “looked” a little strange, too, with their secret and quiet comings and goings, when everyone else was out sitting in the shade, or swimming in the river. But, I think they ultimately stumbled onto a beautiful, enduring truth after much search and deliberation. And either their writings and creeds mean something, or they don’t.

As I said, none of the pedigree of President Obama is germane to the here-and-now. And, not being an elected Secretary of State, or sitting on any Boards Of Canvassers, my opinion means nothing, anyway. But, I will not judge harshly those who ARE, and whose opinions DO matter, that choose to be a bit more thoroughgoing in this situation: They are foresworn to uphold the law, and this sometimes leads folks down paths that might, to some, “look” foolish.

And, I would hope, that these public officials would be as picayune in their detective work toward ANY aspirant to the most powerful office in the world.

Finally, why would not the polite, respectful and intelligent exchange of conservative thought NOT belong on this site? Are we, as conservatives, so terrified of what a casual, left-of-center reader might think about what they may (or may not) read here that it prevents us from vigorous, intelligent debate about points of Constitutional law? In sum, and in fine, Politics is all about the ability to offer well-reasoned, rhetorically sound argumentation, and not shrink from the engagement.

      • powertothepeople

the whole issue is nonsense, the constant raising of this issue is not the search for truth, please do not try to equate this nonsense with what occurred at the start of this nation as you would really make yourself look foolish, detective work was done on many levels and he met all criteria so this crap is nothing more than tin foil rantings of the less than stellar intellect, and this site has already made it clear this issue (birther), the truther theories, and a few other topics will not be discussed here, allowed here, supported here, etc. and since you say you are conservative you would respect the sites right to dictate what happens on their private property instead of using the tired line that we as conservatives should allow all speech and debate.

Long run on sentence, but I think that answers all your points.

        • conservativecurmudgeon

I guess I’ll go back under my tin-foil hat, and see if the tiny receivers the CIA implanted in my teeth can pick up any other frequencies. But, I remain unthreatened by the search for truth.

However, you are absolutely correct about what people allow on their web-sites. And, as always, it is their place to judge.

But, I would certainly be interested in your knowledge about this issue. You seem quite assured of your position, and I would like to know what firm knowledge and documentation you have: I have always found this to be an interesting, albeit ultimately marginal, issue, and I would like to be more sanguine and self-assured about my opinions on it.

        • kowalski

But because the whole thing is bordering on the absurd at this point.

Look, you need to show a birth certificate as proof of age for a child under 18 for them to join the YMCA. That’s right: for your child to join the YMCA and swim in the pool, you have to produce a birth certificate.

For two years now we’ve had this game of cat-and-mouse being played and the bizarre wording of the Governor’s statements (“we will do what we can…” doesn’t inspire much confidence, but at least he seems surer that the records actually exist) has only muddied the water up until now.

I ask this question because I want to see the fake controversy come to an end as much as anyone in the world. It’s a Birth Certificate, for pete’s sake. Ordinary people need to show them all the time to prove their identity, for trivial and important matters. It would just seem to me that the President of the United States and the Governor of Hawaii would *want* to get the controversy put to bed definitively.

For the record, I believe he’s an American citizen. I always have. But this silliness is going on two years now and Hawaii could solve it by just producing the dumb document. Even Chris Matthews and David Korn and that other guy agree with me.

The man has been sworn in as the 44th President of the US (twice). The Electoral College cast their votes for him. There is absolutely no mechanism to actually DO anything if we found out – and he admitted – that he was born somewhere other than the US.

All this exercise in mental masturbation does is take our eye off the real issues at a very critical time and it gives BO and his enablers another shield to hide behind. This whole discussion is a complete exercise in counterproductive lunacy.

          • kowalski

All this exercise in mental masturbation does is take our eye off the real issues at a very critical time…

Precisely. It’s a waste of time, but it’s a waste of time and energy that accrues to the benefit of the President and his party. Right after Obama was inaugurated I said something to the effect here on Redstate that the people who couldn’t get past this thing were doomed to waste their time, that there were much more important matters to pay attention to.

But the Search for Sasquatch hasn’t gone away and it’s time that it should. The Governor of Hawaii and the President could just produce the document and end the matter, Case Closed. At that point Redstate and a lot of other blogs could say:

“Anyone who brings this subject up again will have their posts summarily deleted. This matter is closed for discussion, permanently. Think about something else.”

And with that, I write my final words on the subject.

          • kowalski

The President and His Party want to mandate that everyone in America must purchase health insurance through the power to regulate interstate commerce, and yet the Governor of Hawaii hasn’t so far been able to demonstrate that the President’s live birth records exist in Hawaii’s Vital Records archives. If you don’t find that bizarre and galling and absurd, I don’t know what you will.

  • JadedByPolitics

I think that they are playing games….there is some serious crap going on with Hu, the President meeting him with NO ONE there to say what was discussed and what is everyone talking about yesterday and today? this stupid birth certificate. You know what, that piece of paper isn’t going to mean a hill of beans if this Country is sold down the river to the Chinese. When Chris Matthews was talking about this a few weeks ago and got everyone talking about it again what was happening then? oh yeah the Presidents EPA was fighting TX and setting up WV to be destroyed financially…..ALWAYS look at what the left hand is doing while they have everyone watching the right hand!

    • powertothepeople

we have enough to worry about with this administration without pandering to the birther screw jobs. And we have more than enough valid reason to rid this country of this obamanation that we do not even have to give a seconds pause to these conspiracy theories.

Nothing, and I repeat nothing, will ever come out of this nonsense other than the left having ammunition to use against us and it makes us look like fools. And we already have enough fools that use our banner, we do not need anymore.

It’s a distraction, in my opinion, and I don’t think that it will win many votes for our candidate in ’12. I think that dwelling on it smacks of desperation and could actually harm our electoral chances.

That may make me sound like a concern troll, but the last thing we need is to sound like birchers or truthers.

If so it would have been produced. Heck, even the Governor can’t find it.

Personally, I really don’t care where the the jerk was born. If not being a naturally born citizen was the only damage Obama had done to our Constitution I would be happy to accept that. Unfortunately, it is the least.

But, to make up silly conspiracy theories as to why it hasn’t been shown is just as goofy as the birthers demanding that it be shown or Obama gets the boot.

It does not exist. Accept that and move on.

the Constitution and interpreted by the Supreme Court throughout history:

“The Constitution does not, in words, say who shall be natural-born citizens. Resort must be had elsewhere to ascertain that. At common-law, with the nomenclature of which the framers of the Constitution were familiar, it was never doubted that all children born in a country of parents who were its citizens became themselves, upon their birth, citizens also. These were natives, or natural-born citizens, as distinguished from aliens or foreigners. Some authorities go further and include as citizens children born within the jurisdiction without reference to the citizenship of their parents. As to this class there have been doubts, but never as to the first. For the purposes of this case it is not necessary to solve these doubts. It is sufficient for everything we have now to consider that all children born of citizen parents within the jurisdiction are themselves citizens.”

This (and other statements) is the basis for Obama’s ineligibility; note that parents (note plural) must be natural born for the child to be natural born. Obama’s father was a British subject, NOT natural born in the United States. For more information, reference “The Manchurian President”.

“Therefore, I as Director of Health for the State of Hawai?i, along with the Registrar of Vital Statistics who has statutory authority to oversee and maintain these type of vital records, have personally seen and verified that the Hawai?i State Department of Health has Sen. Obama’s original birth certificate on record in accordance with state policies and procedures. ” Dir of Health, Fukino

Now the new Gov says they don’t know where it is?

During that interview, Abercrombie said his goal to combat birthers was a personal one.

“It’s a matter of principle with me,” the 72-year-old said. “I knew his mom and dad. I was here when he was born. Anybody who wants to ask a question honestly could have had their answer already.”

So we are going to get a straight answer in HI? Wonder what the details behind an obama friend running and winning Gov? A little convenient.

Who would spend millions in legal fees NOT to show a document that ANYONE who has one can produce after a 15 minute visit to the Department of Vital Statistics and paying roughly $10 for the certified copy. It defies all reason and logic that he does not do this and has paid millions to avoid doing so. There is NO reason why he won’t produce the record other than he DOESN’T have it. Even if he were born in Hawaii (which I doubt) he could have lost natural-born status when he was adopted in Indonesia, which unquestionably happened. He may be a US citizen, but I do not believe he is a natural born US citizen as required by the Constitution. Why would he spend all this money not to show this document unless he doesn’t have it or is certifiably insane. Nothing else makes any sense. Also, what are the odds that in 1960s Jim Crow America, his America-hating mother would have thought to protect the natural-born status of her half-black possibly illegitimate son? About zero? He’s not eligible. America got conned and no one in authority seems to want to do anything about it which is a great travesty.

…resting under the coffee table in this video. [If you watch closely, you'll see a glimpse of it...]

Now, that you’ve watched it, can I ask:

What is the point of continuing this argument?

If 10 years from now, Andy Stern comes out and says ‘boy, we fooled them all (except for those birthers)’, then what?

Focus on the battles in front of you, not the ones that lead you searching for the Wizard of Oz because, chances are, you’ll wind up seeing that the Wizard isn’t really a wizard after all–but by then you’ll have wasted a lot of time that could have otherwise been spent doing something more productive.

[I would recommend becoming a precinct committeeman, but ColdWarrior would probably shoot me...so don't do that.]

Sorry if the above insults you, but the argument is getting old (and boring)…

    Get over it.
