Before we solve the issue of illegal immigration; before we restore and ensure no further erosion of the Second Amendment; before entitlements are reformed, fiscal sanity is instituted and socialist forces in this country are defeated – we must do something first:

We must defeat The Spineless

For the past 20 years or so, the Republican Party has been sliding down a sorry path, beginning just after the original “Contract With America” in the mid-90’s. That was a moment in time I’d love to see again, but who in the Republican establishment would push such a thing now? The Contract With America was wildly unpopular with the press, the Democrats and anyone in love with President Clinton. But the Republican leadership proudly let the American people in on what they were doing – and didn’t squirrel away behind closed doors, conspiring to see what they could get away with and still get re-elected.

The Contract With America I believe was responsible for Republicans in 1994 taking over Congress and forcing Bill Clinton to move to the right, balancing budgets, reforming welfare and taking credit for it all. But make no mistake – the conservatives in the Republican Party leadership told the media and the Liberals to be damned and stood up for Americans. It was glorious, but I was sorry to see – short-lived, because something happened.

Our party began having a party.

It wasn’t that long before Republicans were spending like sober Democrats, running up deficits, passing regulations and taxes, increasing the size of government at every turn. Sorry you fans of George W. Bush, but the de-spining of America accelerated on his watch and with his full consent. 9/11 aside, Republicans and conservatives of all stripes must fess up to this reality if we’re up to Republicans who currently make up the GOP leadership are not to be trusted or counted on. While they’ve been getting their asses handed to them since 2006, we’ve all been thinking the same thing, so why not just say it.

They are weak. They lack resolution and purpose. They’re cowards when it comes to the media and completely invertebrate versus Barack Obama. More? Okay: They lie to us. A lot. They’re selling us down the road. Instead of leading, they blame. Instead of telling it like it is, they pander. You get the point.

This is not about the wonderful conservatives, many swept into office in 2010 by the wake-up call of Obamanomics, whom I love and admire. I’m talking about the guys in charge of the GOP. A bunch of wimps who won’t bring their “negotiations” out into the light, refuse to do battle with the Chicago thugs, and simply won’t do what they were hired to do. I’m talking about the leadership and the newly hired Republicans who got to Congress and decided it was easier to go along than to hold true to their constituents. I’m sick and tired of asking you to grow a pair – I want you out of office.

Republicans love to hang back and blame Barack Obama, Harry Reid, Hillary Clinton – whoever – but they are complicit when they do nothing to stop the spending, defund ObamaCare, or prevent our military from being decimated. I love these guys who use “The Sequester” as their rallying cry: “It was Obama’s idea”!!! So what? You passed it, you did nothing to stop it’s being implemented and you are to blame, my friends. There is no one else in Washington that has any desire for less spending, fiscal sanity and a superior military, so we’re counting on REPUBLICANS to do the right thing.

But there you go, having drinks with Obama, making plans and proposals in secret, while pretending to represent us. You’re not. You’re tagging along with folks who want a fundamental change of America and the downfall of the Republic. What is the matter with you? Get out of the way and let some real conservatives do battle with these socialists and Islamic sympathizers.

I live in a world where Americans are murdered in Benghazi and they lie to our faces about what happened and Republicans are doing nothing that results in getting to the bottom of it. What happened to the folks who oversaw “Fast & Furious”? Why did the bombings in Boston occur when the Russians had these guys on a wire talking about it with their crazy mom? We don’t need more cameras, more DHS agents or more drones looking out for us – we need a competent FBI and this kind of crazy crap won’t happen. Stop going along with restricting our liberties and go home to enjoy the millions you’ve somehow compiled on a Congressman’s salary. You know who you are. You’re the ones raising taxes and going along with brand new taxes on the Internet. You’re the ones busy caving into completely worthless immigration reforms that won’t be complied with or enforced.

Millions more Democrat voters mean more free stuff, bigger government handouts, more spending, continued debt and drain on our economy. We will be Greece in no time, but I don’t see the GOP up in arms about it. You guys are insane if you think the Obama Justice Department will enforce any new immigration rules which make it difficult for illegals to become legal. The Obama Administration not only doesn’t protect the border, but when border states try to do it themselves, the Administration sues them! These are the same people who run guns over the border to Mexican drug cartels in order to exacerbate a phony gun crisis in this country – to help with gun control regulation. Do you not see what is going on?

We need true Americans to run and serve. Defeat The Spineless. Now.

Why is everyone so surprised? No one who’s been paying attention at all over the past 40 years in Illinois is even batting an eye that Bob Woodward, of all people, has been threatened by the White House. These are folks from Illinois, folks. You know, Daley, Rostenkowski, Blagojevich, Daley, George Ryan, and for you old-schoolers – Dan Walker or Paul Powell – take your pick…

But it’s not so much the people who are in prison – it’s the folks who aren’t and have been running Illinois in such a corrupt fashion that it’s become a long-running joke. Ballot-stuffing, dead people voting, cronyism, guys with bad hair, bribes, organized crime, graft, selling of Senate Seats and nobody cares.. Kind of ironic that it’s Blago’s seat which is being sold to the highest bidder now, eh? But I digress…

In 2008, the country was sick of George Bush, sick of the wars, sick of the rear-ending they were getting with the financial meltdown, and we voted in a relatively unknown, un-vetted, unqualified community rabble-rouser named Barack Obama. People in Illinois who are able to string two sentences together knew who David Axelrod, Valerie Jarrett, Rahm Emmanuel, and Alice Palmer were, and when Barack Obama was elected President, there was a big “you ain’t seen nothing yet” being muttered across the Land ‘O Lincoln.

They knew what was coming to DC: Illinois-style villains, criminals, hucksters and hustlers. Nothing off-limits or off the table. Full-blown lies and corruption the likes of which the rest of the country apparently wasn’t ready for. In Illinois, it’s a political culture that’s been in place for more than 100 years. And all of a sudden, Bob Woodward has been threatened? Wait – what? The Watergate guy? Half of the great and mighty Nixon-slayer team? Isn’t he a hero to Democrats and hippies everywhere? How can this be? There must be a misunderstanding – won’t this backfire on Barack Obama? What are you, high? The last time Barack Obama experienced any backfire was from the old van the Choom Gang used to roll in…

This is, after all, an administration who when Americans are murdered in Bengazi, they throw a filmmaker in prison and move on, for crying out loud. They’re laughing over the prospect that the incomparable Bob Woodward is making these funny noises. You think they need Bob Woodward on their side? He’s more useful as an example to all other “journalists” who might think about veering off the program for a minute. As we speak, Bob Woodward is being re-cast as an irrelevant old hack by the Chicago thug squad – with plenty of assists and interference run from the leg-tinglers in the major media. On a side note, I understand Carl Bernstein got an email from the White House saying, “Keep up the good work” – but I digress…

One more example from this week for illustration:

Why on earth would you begin letting locked-up illegal immigrants go free just because of possible cutbacks in the federal budget? Ask someone from Illinois and they’ll tell you with a shrug about how back in the day, Chicago’s large immigrant population made it simple for corrupt political machineries to nurture power. Ethnic groups and different classes were pitted against one another and influenced with patronage and lotsa, lotsa cash. For their trouble, the Irish got this, the Italians got that, the Germans got the other thing…

Is any of this sounding familiar? Welcome to Illinois, rest of the country.

I went through my cable bill (actually, DirecTV) this month and knocked out what I really didn’t need and made a promise to not order any movies that weren’t available on Amazon Prime. When I was done taking a meat cleaver to my DirectTV budget, I had actually reduced my total monthly nut by 1.5%…

The government “sequester” is a 1.2% “cut.”

Do you see what I’m getting at here? Half of that is defense, and I’m sorry, they can find the money somewhere – and the rest of it is not going to tank a $3 trillion economy. End of story. In fact, we ought to be “sequestering” along with entitlement reform every quarter for the next five years. Don’t tell me it can’t be done and stop with the histrionics as Charles Krauthammer says. He looks so dour all the time, but always make a sarcastic comment when you least expect it and gets me laughing. Funny dude.

There’s my plan. Any questions, you belly-ache’s? Yes, I’m talking to you, Mr. President, Mr. & Mrs. Congressman, Ms. Pundit and General McWe’reScrewed. Shut up and get out your friggin’ cable bills and knock out what you don’t need like I did. It took a half hour, and yes, I’m going to miss Game of Thrones, along with some super movies like… well, at least I’ll have more time to practice the piano.

The temerity of people in high places telling you they can’t find 1.2% waste in government to cut is funny if it weren’t so pathetic. We all know it’s complete BS, but we sit around waiting for them to kick the thing down the road at the last second and we take it. Why? We have overspent trillions in a very short time and I ask you, where are the improved and additional government services for all that dough? You know what you have $6 trillion later that you didn’t have ten years ago? NOTHING!

Unless you have a brand-new fat public union pension or started one of those kick-ass solar stimulus companies you raped and moved on from, I challenge you to name me how government is doing you $6 trillion better? The Post Office doesn’t even deliver on Saturdays anymore and guess what – if you’re pissed you can email them! Got the picture?

Thing is, we all need to stop spending money and practice the piano more. I’m going to learn “Year of the Cat” and the theme to “Out of Africa.” If September comes along and my economy improves, I’ll get to watch Boardwalk Empire, but if it doesn’t, I’ll learn “I Don’t Like Mondays.”

The next time you see one of these goofballs on TV saying the sequester is the end of the world and schoolchildren will be forced to work in iron ore factories, just hum the words; “I wanna shoot ooh ooh ooh ooh oot, the whole day down…” You’ll feel better. Get rid of Starz and half of those HD channels when you’re done watching Downton. C’mon – cut ’till it hurts…

I don’t know a lot of international film & television stars, but I know Nick Searcy – and if you knew Nick Searcy – you’d certainly know he is just such a star… probably because he’d tell you.

Seriously though, if you do know Nick, you’d know he’s constantly goofing on the industry in which he works – a business filled with folks who will tell you to your face how accomplished they are, and never think for a minute they’re being vapid. Anyone who works in showbiz knows a lot of these folks, mired in their own press and surrounded by sycophants who find it in their best interest to keep the money train’s ego un-checked and filled with sugary accolades.

And in that spirit I highly recommend you surf on over to “Acting School with Nick Searcy”– an hysterical web series giving an inside look at the life of an “International Film & Television Star” – who just happens to be the professor himself, Nick Searcy. Even if you’ve never known or met an actor, you’re going to love seeing Nick’s angle on what a life of show business can do to a person’s self-image. I know a LOT of actors and Searcy nails them to the wall – something that needed to be done a long time ago. Most of the time when Hollywood parodies itself, they end up patting themselves on the back, but not here. I don’t laugh at much but this seriously cracked me up.

In real life Nick is a terrific actor, currently starring in the F/X series; “Justified,” working alongside the great Tim Olyphant, many of whom you may remember as Sheriff Seth Bullock in the HBO series; “Deadwood.” Wish that show was still on, eh? But don’t worry, with the reviews “Justified” is receiving, my guess is it will continue for many, many seasons. Along the way, Nick has racked up an enviable resume, starring in independent films as well as big-budget studio movies, including The Ugly Truth, Blood Done Sign My Name, The Dead Girl, An American Crime, Runaway Jury, Cast Away, Head of State, and Fried Green Tomatoes. On television, he was a series regular on 7 Days, American Gothic, From The Earth To The Moon, Rodney, and Easy Money.

Also, lately we’ve seen Nick in the Oscar-nominated films Moneyball and Gone. So, on second glance, he may not be goofing around with all that stuff about being an International Star…?

Off-stage, Nick Searcy is unusual, to say the least, but I mean that in the best way. Nick can be so silly at times that it’s disconcerting, because he seems so serious at first glance. And when you finally realize he’s putting you on, it’s too late, you’ve been had. But it’s great to know someone who is so talented, but never takes themselves seriously for a minute. That’s Nick Searcy. Check out his acting school if you also have visions of being an International Film & Television Star – or if you just wants some laughs.

He’s one of us. – Your buddy, Kowenhoven

So I see where the great and powerful Roger Ebert says Clint Eastwood made a fool of himself at the Republican National Convention?

After failing miserably at what Mr. Eastwood has mastered, you woke up one day and decided you were now a “movie reviewer,” aka; the lowest form of life. That’s right, after an unsuccessful run at being an artist, you, like nearly every critic, appointed yourself an arbiter of what the rest of us should do when we get a dear few hours off from pushing the millstones.

Actual artists are out there putting their butts on the line, working for years, crying and pounding their heads and fists into the cement until maybe, maybe one day – they do or make something that moves people. Something that will communicate to folks far off into the future.

And you dare to pass judgment on their art?

If not for the government teat, you wouldn’t have even gotten your start over at PBS – so of course you support Barack Obama and the rest of the big government socialists! Without taxpayer funding, you’d be munching on yellow popcorn and Milk Duds in a basement somewhere, screaming at your little TV about how the rest of them can’t make a film like you could if only they’d give you a chance…

You’re a hack, Roger Ebert, reviewing films and now a box-office icon through your leftist political lens.

If Michael Moore or Spike Lee made the exact same presentation at the Democratic Convention mocking Mitt Romney, you’re jaw would fall off from laughter. OW! Yeah, I said it – you’re bought and paid for – first by the taxpayers, then by Disney.

Get a job in the Romney/Ryan recovery and stay away from the movies.

Producers of the HBO hit, “Game of Thrones” aired an episode featuring the bloodied and severed head of George W. Bush on a stake last season. Were they set upon by Secret Service and detained for evaluation or questioned by the FBI? Of course not – all in good fun.

Should I bother stating what would happen if it were a Tea Party activist and a severed head of Barack Obama? When a theater in Colorado gets blasted or a lawmaker in Tucson gets shot in the face, it must have been a member of the Tea Party. Who else could it be?

It’s a double-standard, and nothing more. Folks at HBO don’t advocate the beheading of President Bush, and Brian Ross is a harmless liberal in journalist’s clothing. We’re so used to it now that most conservatives have been lulled into indifference, but when does a double-standard end; and an attempt to intimidate legitimate dissent begin?

Enter Brandon J. Raub: The 26-year-old Marine Veteran was confronted at his home in Virginia by FBI agents, ostensibly for some strident anti-government online missives. They didn’t arrest Raub, but cuffed and took him to John Randolph Medical for evaluation after questioning him about entries on his Facebook wall. On August 5th, he posted; “If you are unaware of the great amount of evil perpetrated by the American Government I suggest you take your head out of the sand. The day of reckoning is almost at hand.”

I’m fully aware there may be other reasons Mr. Raub was detained, but did his Facebook rants rise to the level of intervention he received? After all, I live in a time where our own president publicly advises to bring a gun to a knife fight; citizens who make political donations to the opposition Party are investigated and smeared; and big city Mayors tell a business owner his company is not welcome because they disagree on the definition of marriage. Does that suppress free speech, intimidate or silence dissent? You betcha.

Besides, who has time to be taken into custody? I just cut three paragraphs out of this article because I have stuff to do tomorrow. It would literally ruin my life. They spring you 72 hours later, but your family, fans, or potential employers don’t just forget – it’s the accusation that sticks, not the exoneration. I dig my life – you think I’m going to chance being taken away in handcuffs, all because I got a little too rambunctious? No way, Jose. I almost cut that.

To be fair, I myself would probably find cause to give Brandon Raub’s family or fellow servicemen a ring to see what was up after things began to get a little jiggy in the stability department. Although he begins with reasonable gripes about the TSA and Constitutional issues, the tone of Mr. Raub’s harangues took a turn for the worse, like this one:

“This world is secretly run by a shadow organization of people who among other things enjoy raping children. Some of leaders were involved with the bombing of the twin towers. It was a sacrifice and a complete inside job. Also the Bush’s are very sick twisted problems. I believe they have a secret Castle in Colorado where they have been raping and sacrificing children for many years.”

Borderline and delusional, yes – but I read and hear far worse stuff all the time. The leader of the (NEW!) Black Panthers declared publicly that he wants his army to kill white babies and skin white people. Was he detained, arrested, investigated or even told to lighten up, bro? Mental health workers should have given some heads up on the poor souls who gunned down people in Aurora, Colorado, Virginia Tech, Tucson, and Fort Hood – but they didn’t. Why not?

It apparently matters whose side you’re on when it comes to free speech and on the issue of freedom, it looks like I’m going to deserve what I get. If you run into me in the Gulag, you got the green-light to kick my ass for not saying what I’m really thinking today.

But like I said, I have stuff to do tomorrow.

Your buddy, Kowenhoven.

Everything is upside-down.

The cool people are deviant, selfish, use drugs, commit crime, cheat on their loved ones and engage in reckless and sociopathic behavior. People who attend services, play by the rules, live clean lives or honor their elders are ignorant chumps and mocked as buffoons.

When depicted in television and film, Liberals and Democrats are almost always the compassionate and humanitarian heroes, while conservative and Republican characters are the greedy, destructive and bigoted oppressors.

Yet, when you speak to people who actually have spent some time working in the entertainment business, they’ll describe to you an industry rife with avarice, misogyny and prejudice. Actresses both successful and unknown routinely describe the prevailing atmosphere in Hollywood as one of harassment and intimidation.

Liberals and the entertainment products they produce, scream racism every day of the year, yet nowhere will you find a more segregated and un-inclusive place to do business. Ask any gay in Hollywood and they’ll tell you what a homophobic and prejudice town Hollywood is.

Phony and deceptive bookkeeping practices in Hollywood are so legendary and prevalent, that even favorite son Michael Moore recently felt compelled to sue his producers for his fair share of profits. Although what a self-described anti-Capitalist cares about evil profits, I don’t know…

And sadly, over the past twenty-five years, the lion’s share of studio films about war much too often depict our military as deceptive, power hungry, fascist and expansionist, and the American soldier as bloodthirsty and murderous occupiers.

So what happened? I’ll tell you what happened – the hippies took over. Greedy hippies. Earth Day, Global warming, private jets and limos.

They scream about tax cuts for the rich, yet run off to Canada or Shreveport to make their next $100 million film because of the tax cuts (and the non-union labor). Through their entertainment platforms, these people routinely tell you how bad you are at raising your children because you dare to give them rules. You’re a fascist if you don’t want your child to do drugs or have sex with the neighbor’s kid.

Gone are the days when movie stars would proudly go off to war and stand shoulder to shoulder with their less famous brothers in arms, fighting for our freedoms, liberty and the American way of life. Gone are the family viewing hours when parents and their children could sit around the television and not be exposed to an onslaught of immoral and explicit behavior, graphic violence and vulgar language.

And gone are the weekends where it was simple to find a movie or four or five to drop the kids off to watch without fear of them being corrupted. Or worse. Yeah, I said it. Worse.

Every once in a generation an investigative reporter is launched into the political zeitgeist, using highly trained instincts, the time-honored tradition of following the money, hard-nosed persistence and some good old-fashioned hard work. Sweating the details, thinking outside the box…

You may not have heard of Sabrina Eaton of the Plain Dealer, but you will..

For in the midst of the chaotic, fog of war that is the elections of 2012, Eaton has uncovered a scandal so shocking, so disgusting and complicated, that its mere existence will have consequences that reach deep into the abyss of campaign abuse and threaten to bring down an entire web of high-level deceit. Woodward and Bernstein, step aside, the mother of all ‘gates’ has been revealed: It’s “Wardrobe-gate;” and yes, it involves a plumber…

But in order to fully explain, I must first tell you the story of the woman who, with one email, brought this house of cards tumbling down into the light of justice. Her name: Sabrina Eaton. Her paper: The Cleveland Plain Dealer. Her mission: Get the Republican.

On July 17th, Eaton contacted Joe for Congress 2012 Communications Director, Phil Christofanelli, via email to clarify the glaring question in Joe’s six figure FEC filing: his $600 expenditure at Jos. A. Banks. Christofanelli explained that Joe did not own any business attire prior to running for Congress, thus the campaign purchased a few shirts and dress pants in order for Joe to attend certain campaign events.

While most journalists would have been fooled by this clever form of campaign spin, Eaton was undeterred and began to dig. Later that day she earned a major break. By delving deep into the intricacies of campaign finance rules, she discovered that it is impermissible for campaigns to purchase clothing for candidates. She knew right then that Joe’s campaign was finished. Ever the intrepid journalist, Eaton quickly got to work penning an article entitled “Clothes purchases by Samuel Joe the Plumber – Wurzelbacher appear to run afoul of campaign finance law.”

What is the moral of this story? While excoriating every minor detail out of Joe’s campaign, the complicit liberal media in Northern Ohio completely ignores their friend, Rep. Marcy Kaptur; who is Joe’s Democrat opponent for Congress. Since the start of Joe’s campaign, Eaton has been nothing but hostile, threatening to “Politi-fact” all of Joe’s press releases and writing negative stories at every opportunity, while fawning over Kaptur.

The real story coming out of Joe’s FEC report should have been this: Joe the Plumber, a first-time candidate in a challenging district, raises nearly as much as 30-year incumbent Marcy Kaptur. Not only that, but Joe raised his money mostly from small donors all over the country, while Marcy Kaptur earned most of her money from special interest groups, particularly unions which require all workers to hand over a portion of their paychecks in order to fund the political donations of the union boss.

Liberal journalist hacks like Eaton are hell-bent on determining how you view this next election. They must be exposed for the political activists they are. The American people deserve to decide this election, not the media. They’ve largely ignored Joe’s campaign, platform, successes, speeches or appearances, but they are right on top of this suit thing. Conversely, Marcy Kaptur’s few words during this cycle have been cheered and saluted. As far as they’re concerned, the economy is doing just great, and it’s Joe the Plumber’s wardrobe that needs more coverage.

Carry on Sabrina, and start thinking about who will play you in the film.
