Should conservatives & tea partyers stand for any principles?

I read & hear from republicans, even conservatives who have an axe to grind…. it is time to fall behind Romney!  Similar to the argument we heard during the GW Bush days - you cannot go against a sitting republican president even when he pushed this country to a fiscal hole!  Now the same people complain about Bush’s liberal policies!

Do we have to support republicans (Romney & other elected republicans) irrespective of any position they take?  Do we have to abandon all our positions —or should conservative stick to some principles?  The republicans want to be elected (including Romney) just because they are republicans & not democrats!

We all remember fondly  ”contract with America” & a speaker with a conservative vision & action plan”….all we got now are Boehner, McConnell, Romney … stand for nothing people.

Conservatives & Tea partyers, … welcome to the republican party of Romney, Bohener & McConnell!  Your vote is important to us!  Your ideas, however, are not welcome!

What is the duty of conservatives who supported Non-Romney

This post is Not addressed to Rombots —you can continue to keep you head in the sand.  Newt should continue to stay in the race & people should support him to keep Romney honest & slow down his run to the left!

For the rest of us, we need to stand together & make our voices heard!

First of all, those of us who were in the Non-Romney camp should not back away from conservative principles because  Romney is Not a conservative.  There will be attempts by RINOs & republican establishment types, conservative media types to redfine conservative principles so that Romney is palatable to the conservatives & tea partyers….I already see post describing that he is “conservative enough” & followed by most likely how Regan was a moderate in many ways like Romney, etc…. remember 2008, it will be worse.     We should make sure that voices are heard -here & radio talk shows & letter to the editor etc.  One thing to compare Obama to Romney & another thing to say Romney is conservative!

As EE says, President Both Ways about Obama, Romney will be “Nominee Any way that day.  All the Non-Romney supporters should stay strong & make sure we hold this Etch a Sketch feet to the fire.  For example, if starts immigration reform support or say dream act, the Perry & Newt supporters should start calling all the talk show hosts (who will try cover it up!  they are first republicans & then conservatives!) & remind everyone what Romney said in the primaries & how he attacked Perry & Newt for their positions!   We should do the same for other issues where Romney took a conservative position in primary & would try to weasel his way to a liberal position.

The most important thing for RS posters who supported Non-Romney including people like EE is that ” to make sure our support of the Republican nominee (Romney) is conditional upon his sticking to his positions that he promised in the primaries” & otherwise, there will no difference between Obama & Romney by the time November comes along!

Everyone around us will keep repeating   “it is Obama on the other side & we all know the damage he can wreck on this country & so we have to elect Romney!”  We will be asked to cut him some slack , give him some room to attract the moderates, people will say that that goal is more important the means or he will move back to the right after the elections etc. etc.  – as he keep going back on one issue after another.  From Rush, Hannity, & others, there will be chorus – whatever position he takes, it is OK, he is still better than Obama.  We have to stand up & say it is NOT OK!  If Romney camp figures that conservatives are a sap & take them for granted, there will Not be a difference in the positions of the two candidates, it will be Obama vs. Obama Lite!

If we keep on compromising on our principles because one more boogeyman routine, we have ourselves to blame for the past, current (most likely future) wasted opportunities.  What is the point of being a Obama Lite – the independents would rather vote for the real deal….it is our duty to keep our candidate honest by making sure we are not taken for granted by the Romney camp!

Time to demand accountability from Republican congressional members

One thing I admire about liberal democrats …most of them fight for their causes & do not back down! Look at Republican leadership ….Boehner, Ryan, Cantor, McConnell – first thing they say is Compromise or how they only control only one third of the government  and whine that the president is not working with them!   I never hear that from Schumer, Durbin, Pelosi —when it comes to liberalism, it is pedal to the metal for them.. how is that they are able to stand on their principles while republican gang is so weak kneed!    Also, when GW Bush was elected, they had all three branches but did nothing!  While Obama is a disaster for the country, he passed Obamacare, the ultimate liberal goal!   Somehow, liberals are able to get their elected members to deliver on their promises, while our side comes up with fake votes to defraud the republican base (debt limit vote was a fraud of the biggest proportions that the conservative media chose to ignore! – voted to approve Obama to raise debt ceiling & then end of the year did a symbolic vote before the elections to rebuke the president on his debt limit to get cover before the elections!)

The reason I am raising this now is if Obama wins & republicans get the senate & house,  do the republicans have the courage to stop or even slow down the complete destruction of  our system?  I am not sure….it is time to hold the republican congress members feet to the fire!   Where are the Tea Party people — it is time to get active & start putting up candidates against  the republican leadership for 2014!

Something changed in Republican primaries last time & this time….

If we look at the previous elections, we see that voters on either side have been looking for a change from the previous POTUS – be it policy issue or personal issue.

We got Reagan who articulated that he will save the country from a fiscal disaster caused by Carter….he got elected two times doing what he said he would do!  George HW Bush would have lost  since he called Reagan’s economic policy as “voodoo” economics & talked about moderate ideas ….luckily the challenger Dukakis was such a lame duck candidate & Bernard Shaw sank his campaign with one question!   Clinton beat HW Bush because he came across as more centric & George HW Bush “flip flopped” on his tax pledge.  Clinton moved to the center & with Newts help & brought some commonsense changes to government.   GW Bush was elected for one reason – he could keep his pants on & for his image as a family man.

If we look at last election, republicans & independents were mad at GW Bush because of his spendthrift ways….all Republicans had to do  was elect a guy that would have articulated fiscal discipline & had a recent record on that ….we had all moderates towards the end (McCain, Romney, Huckabee) & we lost the race since Obama “talked a good game of hope & change” & won easily.  This time all republicans had to do was the same thing – get a decent fiscally conservative guy who had a decent record that can contrast himself with Obama!  We screwed up again (Newt would have been OK in many respects but there were issues at play…as listed below)

I am jus thinking about what caused these changes & if it will continue?

1. Has the establishment become somehow more powerful?  2.  Have the PACs changed the playing field so much that candidate with tons of money support (wall street, crony capitalists) can kill the other primary candidates very easily?  3.  Are republican primaries held in blue states in the early stages of the primaries to favor moderate/liberals?  4.  Has the conservative media been taken over by “RINOs” who constantly smear the conservative candidates?  5. Are republicans & conservatives in the media are afraid to vet the primary candidates thoroughly to protect their side in case that person becomes our nominee (seem to be the case for Romney – a cursory search on the net will bring how liberal he has been in MA)  6. Is the big money republican donors are all liberal/moderates & are pushing for the liberal/moderate governors on the rest of us?  7. Has the polarization between a republican & a democrat has become so great that we do not care how principled is our candidate as long as there is an R after the candidate?  etc. etc…

My concern is how do we get out of this self destructive cycle?  I see already people rooting for Chris Christie (many better conservative governors are available in the south & middle of the country – Walker, Jindal, Kasich etc.).  Republican party is becoming just like the Democrat party  with party leaders & others in DC & NY showing so much disdain towards the average republican who lives in the “fly over country”.   I do not foresee this cycle changing in the near future!

RS posters already making excuses for “Etch a Sketch” nominee

Is “Etch a Sketch”  a euphemism for “flip flopper”.   The arrogance of Romney campaign is plain to see - ”where will the hicks & bible thumpers go in the general elections”? They are not even waiting for the primaries to end before moving from the center to left of center! Unfortunately, EE & other posters have already started lining behind Mittens – “we have no other path but support Romney “.  No wonder, Romney gang is getting bolder & already saying what they will do in the general!

Question to other Etch a Sketch Nominee supporters – In general, he will move left enough – just not to make the base NOT  too angry!  They will play both sides - his mouth pieces will say one thing & he will come out say the opposite (just like what we witnessed)!   That way when Mittens pivots left, he can say their camp did say that!  If he is elected POTUS, he will be a full fledged MA liberal in action!! Revised Obamacare, Cap & Trade, same policies on social issues (Cathlolics need to wake up!) etc… 2014 will be a disaster – Pelosi back as the speaker!   We will again have liberals in charge of all three corridors of power!

Do we want Obama as the POTUS with Senate & House Republican majority or Obama Lite as POTUS with Reid & Pelosi?

Time to evaluate the primaries on the Republican side!

RINO establishment has succeeded in nominating their candidates for many years (GW Bush somehow managed to hide his big spending tendencies!).   What makes this time as the final straw for conservatives /Tea Partyers is that things have gone from good to bad one election cycle (since 201).  But, we got Romney who does not even qualify as remotely conservative!  The objective should be to get the base (conservatives & tea partyers) back one of the plans (based on discussions & vetting) & change the current Republican primary system.   The goal is to prevent a RINO candidate to run away with the primary win by winning blue states (inhabitants are mostly RINOs) that will never ever go to Republicans such as CA, MA, Vermont, Maryland etc., in the general elections.

1.  For every blue state primary, there should be a red state primary on the same date so that Republican moderate does not get all the momentum & cash while the conservative candidates are forced out due to lack of cash & RINO attacks!

2. In addition to the above, delegates should be awarded based weighted system that takes in to account how that particular state voted in previous elections and/or registered democrats or republicans.

For example, if Vermont population is 70% democratic based on previous presidential election and/or registered voters, then the delegate count should be multiplied by 30% or a similar number to get a much a lower number of delegates.   Basically, this will reduce the power of blue state republicans whose votes do not factor in the presidential elections since electoral college gives all their votes (except Maine & Nebraska) to the popular vote winner.

Also, higher weightage should be given to red states & battleground states since they are the states that make or break a republican candidate in the general election.  This will ensure that a liberal does not sneak through the system only to lose in the general elections.

I am sure there are other ideas to improve the current system & suggestions above….but the Big question is how do we get this enacted with the RINO in complete control of the establishment!   The base has to pressure people like Jim Demint, Rand Paul, Rubio, Sessions & such like-minded people to start a movement to change the status quo.  May be people like EE, Levin & others can also help in bringing this issue to the forefront, discuss it & suggest improvements etc.

If the system remains as it is now,  we will have one RINO after another as our candidates for the foreseeable future!

Should we start a RS campaign for Newt to step down & endorse Rick!

Newt did not win any state other than his home state while Rick was able to win TN – far away from PA!  Newt being a southern guy could not win TN or even come in second, which pathetic!  There is no way to spin Newt’s loss to Romney in TN!  It is clear that Newt is not the first choice among the conservative wing of the party.  Newt needs to evaluate his chances & for the good of the conservative movement, he should step down & endorse Rick!  This is the last chance to stop Romney from becoming the Republican nominee.

I am making the plea to Newt, please step down & endorse Rick.  Newt should be picked as the veep & Rick -Newt has the best chance of beating  Obama!

Evangelicals/Tea Partyers are not playing their hand well !

I am listening to reports of many evangelicals (exit interviews) saying that they will vote for whoever is the Republican nominee!  This is going to really backfire for the conservatives!  Already, Romney is saying he is not going to say anything or do anything to fire up the base.  The Romney was really in the middle or slightly left of the middle and because of Newt & Rick, he moved a little bit to the right to come back to the center (examples of his recent tax package, few social issues etc.).  If Evangelicals & Tea Partyers show their hand now, Mittens will move to the left slowly now & move hard left for the general elections.  He will screw the Evangelicals &  Tea Partyers for sure in the primary – it is important for this segment of the Republican party to hold Romney’s feet to the fire till the end of the elections.  The difference between Obama & Mittens will be negligible by October, 2012!

Conservative thought leaders – The time is now to reject Moderate as the nominee!

I am sick & tired of Rush, Sarah Palin, De Mint sitting on the sidelines while the conservatives are struggling the primary while a MA moderate Romney, with the help of Libertarian fraud, is taking over the primary.  I can understand their non-support of a particular candidate but at least they should clearly tell the republican primary voters to avoid Romney & Ron Paul!

Rush & Hannity do not want to antagonize any supporter & lose their ratings & dollars.  Also, Rush’s big ego will not let him support somebody & his candidates loses!  Down the road, when Romney loses big time to Obama, he will shamelessly take credit that he called it!  Most of these conservative media types lost their credibility (except Savage & may be Levin) when they kept their mouths shut when Bush was spending like there is no tomorrow!

Sarah Palin is supporting indirectly – she does not want to antagonize the RINO establishment…not sure why?  She has the support of the conservative & tea party base.  Her credibility will only go up if she says to avoid Romney & Paul! DeMint also needs to come out & help out the conservatives now!  He needs to show the courage to go against establishment – he expects that from other freshmen senators during votes. It is all about power – Power corrupts even good people!

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of a MA liberal first & later a Socialist is for good men/women to do nothing”

Nexus between Ron Paul and Romney is out in the open!

After weeks of speculation that Ron Paul & Romney Campaigns are working together based on how Ron Paul smeared Newt in FL & now has attack ads against Rick in MI even though he is not campaigning much there.  There are tons of articles that discuss either Ron or more likely, Rand Paul will be the veep nominee for Romney!

I hope Libertarians who thought Paul was a honest broker can go to Libertarian party rather than support this fraud Ron Paul!  Ron Paul turned out to be the “typical Washington insider that wheel & deals to get himself & his family taken care of “.  This guy, just like Obama, fooled all his followers especially the youth!   Also, I feel sorry for the Judge Napolitano, Stossel & few other openly libertarians who thought this guy is for real…shame on you Paul especially aligning yourself with a MA liberal!

Conservatives & Tea Partyers, this is the last chance to prevent two frauds (Romney-Paul) from being nominees of the republican party!  Vote Rick or Newt whoever is leading the poll in a state or running second to Romney in a particular state.  I am reading & hearing that Newt is not doing any campaign in MI so that the conservatives can vote for Rick!   Thank you Newt!  Hope Rick will do the same in the southern states! Also, if Romney gains any momentum & primary voters are still splitting the conservative votes to give Romney victories in some states, maybe it is time for one of you to step aside to be the veep for the republican ticket.  Conservatives are still the majority of the republican party!
