I bet at this moment he is wishing he would not have brought up that 20-year old thesis. The two ads from Bob McDonnell’s campaign are POWERFUL.
“Reality TV” even captures Deeds calling the female reporter “young lady” as he tries to explain his “no tax”, but “some tax” policy.
“Trust” has to be the best one, other than the one with his Iraq vetern daughter (she is hot BTW, I dont know if I can say that). “Trust” has a litany of female officials Bob McDonnell has hired/appointed, the Deputy Attorney General, a black female, is awsome in this ad. The guys at the McDonnel campaign are great, I love the thesis defense, but how could this be a defense…they are on OFFENSE.

I think that’s gonna leave a permanent mark.

That was an impressive statement, there Creigh. Killing two birds with one stone–lying about taxes and showing a condescending attitude toward women, all in one short sentence.
I don't pity Deeds, he decided to go all in with the move.on crowd...
JadedByPolitics (Diary) Friday, October 2nd at 8:02PM EST (link)and thought the conditions were the same as 2008. He neglected to see that ANGER and RESENTMENT were seething in this southern state at the out of control spending in DC and that Virginians were NOT going to be electing a free spending tax hiker like Deeds. I will tell any D running that the farthest you can get from move.on and Obama the better your chances though your chances are slim to none in the next election.

At a local event for McDonnell yesterday, I had the opportunity...
penguin2 (Diary) Friday, October 2nd at 8:50PM EST (link)to meet and work with a number of young people who were also helping Bob’s campaign. It was the Kiwanis Annual Harbor Party and Seafood Feast in Norfolk, Virginia. A number of political candidates were there, including Bob and Bill Bolling (incumbent for Lt. Gov.). The young people I am particularly referring to were several African-American girls who identified themselves as Independents and had voted for Obama. Needless to say I was startled, and glad I had not said anything negative about the President. My main point, these girls were for Bob McDonnell and the Republican ticket in Virginia. While they had voted for Obama, they were being objective about their voting in our upcoming governor’s race.
This was an enlightening experience and worth sharing. it is obvious to me, there are many independents out there who are looking at candidates carefully before they vote. BTW, these young people were smart, lovely and it was wonderful to have spent the day working with them for a common cause.

Great advertisements
SteveLA (Diary) Friday, October 2nd at 9:10PM EST (link)Whoever is the master mind behind these commercials should get a very big pat on the back for being effective and I think cutting through the usual campaign noise.
Quick…RNC hire whoever is doing these advertisements for the national campaign, they know how to do the job right.

State Fair Looked Good for McDonnell
maddog (Diary) Sunday, October 4th at 12:39AM EST (link)I just returned from the Virginia state fair in Doswell. The amount of support I saw for McDonnell was jaw-dropping. I lost count how many people had the McDonnell stickers on their shirts- even the toddlers. It tooks hours before I saw a Deeds sticker. It must have been a 20-1 ratio. It was a impressive. The McDonnell booth was well staffed and well organized. They even ran out of stickers, but quickly replenished to their credit. I never did find the Deeds booth. I figured the DC area would be the most engaged region give that area’s reason for being is politics. I figured the other parts of the state would have less intensity. Not true.
Even back in Reston Deeds numbers are off. Sure Deeds has more signs and stickers, but not nearly the caliber on of Obama 08 and Webb 06. I wqs drowning in that garbage. No so this year. In touchy-feely Resotn I’d say percentage of Deeds signs to McDonnell 52-48. Not much.
If what I saw today at the state fair is representative of the support
and intensity of the Virginia population at large then things will go well.
Let’s hope the same for Christie in NJ. I’m a blue state refugee in exile for 19 years. I couldn’t take the taxes and stunted job prospects. I reccomend reading the article on the Garden State in this weeks National Review.
