MEMBER DIARY

Ok, so your guy, gal, critter, did not win the nomination, what now?

Your favorite Guy. gal, charleton, whatever, was so WAAAAAAAAAYY better than this evil Romney Squish who is little better than Obama, Amirite?

Count ME in that group, I was a big Perry fan and lost out.

So what now?  Well here is what now, stop complaining because there is no one of us who is smart enough to know exactly who is the best candidate, at this time, and life is full of surprises.

Imagine my surprise, for instance when Ronald Reagan’s own vice president, G H W Bush turned out to be a big government, taxer who got us into two small wars in four years.

“S” happens. But I was also pleasantly surprised by the afor-mentioned mister Reagan, who turned out to be just what we needed, at just the right time.

The thing is that we have a system. I don’t much like it, and it can sure be improved, but it is a system and it allows the wisdom of the crowd to come into play.

In the Book,  The Wisdom of Crowds: Why the Many Are Smarter Than the Few and How Collective Wisdom Shapes Business, Economies, Societies and Nations, by James Surowiecki  He theorizes that information in groups, results in decisions that, he argues, are often better than could have been made by any single member of the group. He backs it up with a lot of examples.

There is a reason for this, the group, acts with less personal bias, bias of viewpoint, information, or anything else. Less, because the various biases are balanced out.

So let’s stop pouting and get with the program. Maybe Romney will be a disaster, but surely that is unknown, What IS KNOWN is that Obama certainly is a disaster.

I am all for the efficient market hypothesis, but it works much better with money than it does in politics that seems to have more to do with who has the nicest hair or the greatest cult of personality. Gingrich has the best economic plan, but apparently a chubby, cheeky fellow won’t do. I don’t really get that. But yeah, Romney beats the sharp stick in the eye we’ve been getting repeatedly.

when all information is known and all costs and benefits are allocated to individuals based on their contributions and decisions (among other things) — and of course, only works as an average of all potential choices in the long run, not when it comes to every decision. Generally speaking, costs in a democracy are socialized among all participants, and information allocation is consequently abysmal.

Look at all of the nonsensical events which have happened as a result of democracy, and tell me that certain individuals wouldn’t have been better than the crowds when it comes to wise choices.

Obama is a danger to this country and has been since the day he took office. Romney’s flaws pale in comparison to that of the narcissist in chief.

to help get out the vote for our conservative candidates. The best way to do that is to get involved with our local Republican Party committees and with the campaigns of the candidates of our choice.

Will you help get out the vote? Will you contact your local party committee? Will you contact the candidates of your choice and ask, “How can I help the candidate?”

I hope and pray you will. And encourage your fellow conservatives where you live to do the same.

      Thank you,
