Lutheran (LCMS) President testimony on contraception rule

I belong to the LCMS (Lutheran Church Mission Synod).  My Synod President certainly speaks for me in the following clip, not because I blindly follow him but because we are of the same heart and mind on this issue.  This video is well worth your time even if you are neither Lutheran nor LCMS.

and here is a link to the transcript:

I am a member of the ELCA by birth, and I could not be more disenfrancised with the churchwide assembly. Not only have they essentially endorsed Hezbollah, permitted openly homosexual clergy to minister, and all about publicly praised the passage of Obamacare, but they have remained silent on the issue your president so eloquently defends. “We must obey God rather than men, and WE WILL!” Fantasic!

I have long wondered if it is better to stay in the ELCA and fight on, or switch to a demonination that better represents and defends my beliefs. Thank you, Kyle.

the LCMS is known for being conservative, but in a quieter way than some evangelical Christians. I am pleased to hear Rev. Harrison join the fight for religious rights in this issue.

Too often bureaucratic leaders go along to get along … we see that currently in Congress. I applaud the Catholic bishops who are standing up against this, and am thankful to Rev. Harrison for doing the same.

The ELCA of today is a hybrid form of Arminianism & Liberal Theology. Understanding both gives us a better understanding of where the ELCA stands on issues.

Joseph Smith in some writings has claimed to use Arminianism as the base for how he laid out his Mormon theology, this is easily questionable. Besides, the Book of Mormon contradicts the wholeness of the Bible anyways.

I wouldn’t have even mentioned Mormonism if it wasn’t a part of current events with Romney and Rubio at the forefront of national politics, both are members of Mormon congregations.
