As the smoke clears on the bi-partisan blockage of SEIU-radical attorney Craig Becker to a seat on the “independent” National Labor Relations Board, an e-mail sent from a SEIU staffer to Senators on February 3rd is worthy of closer examination as it reveals just how much control the purple behemoth of a union has over the Democrats in Washington.
Last week’s e-mail was sent from an SEIU “legislative consultant,” Alison Reardon who, according to the SEIU’s financial reports, spends 100% of her time on “political activities and lobbying.”
In other words, Ms. Reardon is a lobbyist representing a powerful special interest–the SEIU–in trying to get one of her colleagues confirmed on a federal agency that has jurisdiction over nearly every private-sector workplace in America.
What is surprising about the e-mail is the controlling tone she takes with the senators, as well as the information she divulges. Or, rather, the source of her information, the Senate Majority Leader himself, Harry Reid.

With the end of Paterson’s stint as governor, what is to come of SEIU’s plans for New York?

With the end of his tenure well within sight, what is to come of these initiatives and the outside agencies that support them?
It is hard to believe that the Service Employee International Union (SEIU) 1199 will simply allow the two million dollars investment in the soda tax simply fall to the wayside. We know whom the SEIU had in their pocket. And how that black-handed, double-dealing agent worked out for them.
So who will be the new face of the SEIU’s regressive policy for New York? What politician would be willing to back a union in their money grab from hardworking middle and lower classes of New York? State Health Commissioner Richard Daines is already out there toting the SEIU’s campaign to tax New Yorkers into poverty.
And then there was one from the NEA to Leahy
renny (Diary) Tuesday, March 2nd at 4:49PM EST (link)on the tiny voucher program in DC ($2.5 million) that demanded the Sen. disallow the scholarship experiment with the blatant warning that the NEA would take note of who voted for children’s educations and who voted to maintain the pipeline of members’ dues to Sen. campaigns. So, PRESTO, in a stimulus bill so enormous it surpasses flying back and forth to the moon several times in numbers, immediately the tiny DC program was axed.
The best thing about the recent Sup. Ct. ruling on corporate voice in elections is the counter point it may bring to the previously monotonal clamor of the unions for Dems.
