ACORN’s rotten tree has fallen…but don’t get too excited yet

According to Politico’s Ben Smith, ACORN is folding…closing up shop…giving up the ghost…

An ACORN honcho sent an e-mail to Smith:

The ACORN Association Board met on Sunday March 21 and approved a set of steps to responsibly manage the process of bringing its operations to a close over the coming months. These include:

* Closing ACORN’s remaining state affiliates and field offices by April 1st; and

* Developing a plan to resolve all outstanding debts, obligations and other issues.

ACORN’s members have a great deal to be proud of–from promoting to homeownership to helping rebuild New Orleans, from raising wages to winning safer streets, from training community leaders to promoting voter participation—ACORN members have worked hard to create stronger to communities, a more inclusive democracy, and a more just nation.

However, before cracking the celebratory bottle of chablis, Smith’s comment may give some pause:

ACORN was always a very decentralized group, with a great deal of its activity and power concentrated in local chapters from New York to Arkansas — the strongest of which will survive.

This brings to mind a Greek hydra as ACORN‘s demise may only spawn many more mini-ACORNs.

They are the life blood of Obama and the Progressives. They will just change their name, and then remain funded by this administration. They will be ready to go on election day this November.

It was decided that their “notorious” reputation would interfere with them being able to collect and forge voter registrations for the critical election coming. They are still a RICO organization stealing our money in order to help steal our freedom.

to get together and do a coordinated RICO investigation, indict them in several states and then when we take back the WH, the R AG can take the prosecutions from the several states and hit them with a national RICO indictment and go after the ones that escaped the state dragnet.

    Put them away.

Sure now that Obama has the HealthCare bill in his pocket he is telling ACORN to scatter & run and will give them covering fire.
Of course they will all run over to OFA. Obama wants to give them a few years to cover up as much as possible so as not to taint the ones run in 2012.

However, Wade Rathke (ACORN’s founder) is still around SEIU and he’s already started a new organization. This time, though, it is global in nature.
