Update 5/29/10
Several days ago I did a diary about Sebelius’ propagandized Medicare Brochure and the letter the GOP Senate sent her demanding answers.
I was visiting my parents today and asked my mother if she and dad had received the propaganda brochure. Lo and behold they had. So I brought it home and scanned it for your viewing pleasure. It’s a full color, glossy-papered piece of propaganda crap art. For full impact it’s scanned as a high-quality pdf.
If Kenny Solomon is reading this, I felt the same way as you did when you saw it. Wish I had had my Bushmaster with me. As you say, the only thing this is good for is target practice. Below is the propaganda brochure.

Gotta give her credit. HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius has no shame. First she is clueless about how much H/C high risk pools will cost. This video bears repeating. It’s one where you don’t know whether to laugh or cry:
Now the Senate GOP is after her again. They wrote Sebelius a letter stating her new Medicare brochure to seniors is “misleading.” Highlights of the letter state to her:
- The first paragraph claims the H/C bill will increase quality of care to seniors, while we know that many providers will end their participation in Medicare.
- The second paragraph claims the new H/C bill will keep Medicare “strong and solvent.” However, the chief actuary states this may be “unrealistic.”
- The brochure states “your guaranteed benefits won’t change” while the chief actuary states cuts to Medicare Advantage will include “less generous benefit packages.”
They call the brochure:
“at best inappropriate and a wasteful use of taxpayer dollars and at worst a gross misuse of taxpayer funds to provide biased information for political purposes.”
They ask that she provide info as to who initiated the brochure, if she proofed it, if White House staff were involved (no brainer there), who the contractor was who designed and printed the brochure, details of how the brochure is being distributed, who paid for the brochure and how much.
Propaganda from the Liar-in-Chief . They are asking for a response no later than June 11, 2010. The signers are:
Mitch McConnell, John Barrasso, Jon Kyl, Lamar Alexander, Charles Grassley, Mike Enzi, John Thune, and Tom Coburn.
What could be lousier than this. Taking advantage of our seniors for political gain.

Two of ‘em were in the mail today for my parents. “Medicare and the new health care law – What it means for you.”
My initial reaction was laughing……. due to the irony that I had my AR and Sig Pro both broken down for cleaning, or I’d have used the damn papers for targets right then and there ( would have been a waste with the 870 and no fun with the lil’ whipper-snapper KelTec or the Ruger 10/22, or the……… )
This administration is gonna lie and usurp their way straight into Hell.

I’m afraid that we other 50% are so divided politically, that we will never be able to undo any of it. Maybe that’s why Obama doesn’t care about his poll numbers?

He calls the British system “generous, hopeful, confident, joyous, and just,” and goes on to say, “I am romantic about the National Health Service. I love it.”
Now Sebelius will have some help in spreading the propaganda to seniors, at least the ones who are still alive.

The problem with
Scope (Diary) Saturday, May 29th at 11:46AM EDT (link)only writing letters to anyone in the O’s admin. is that that’s where the info ends. The R’s should be trying to get themselves on any/every radio station and TV broadcast that will have them. They should be talking about all the issues directly where the audiences are. I’d be willing to bet that not any large majority of the really old people use computers.
Another problem I have personally seen with 3 seniors is that even though they were Republicans most of their lives, once they get close to or into SS and Medicare age, they start voting for Democrats because they believe that the D’s will not touch or harm their entitlements. Unfortunately they will believe that Sebelius is telling them the truth, and the AARP will back up those lies. Only when they can’t find any doctors to treat them because they have dropped out of Medicare will they finally see the truth.
I recently read that their is legislation to send seniors checks to close the drug “donut hole.” That will further convince them that Obama and the D’s are great.

Some of the folks at the range (private place) had a good laugh when I walked out to place the target…….. Then they realized I wasn’t laughing…… not a 1,000 yd. stare, but I was starting to get into the zone.
My DPMS was in competition status after the reset and I had some nice double and triple-tap groupings on a ‘very special target’ at 100 yds.
I had ‘another target’ ready to go for a second test with the Sig at 50 ft and let the people look over the paper……. By then, they weren’t laughing anymore and that was the first time I was ever offered a trade ‘in kind’ for something that was free to all.
Glad I can laugh now……..
