Obama’s fake “Road to Recovery” jobs chart

Does anyone looking at the chart below believe it? Didn’t think so. It’s called manipulation of data at the least. It even has the signature Obama blue and red coloring. How cute. Where did you get this chart, Mr. Obama? Fantasy Island?

If you are telling us that you, the Democratic Congress and the Stimulus have created 600,000 jobs, how come unemployment is hovering at 10% nationwide and 15% in Michigan? Why are all the states hollering because they are running out of unemployment funds, and Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH) is yelping (I’ll show the video below) on Capitol Hill about why unemployment benefits haven’t been passed? Anyone wishing to see the link to the chart below it is here.

Mr. Obama, your little chart is pretty much alluding that as usual you are again playing the blame it on Bush game. And frankly, sir, we are tired of hearing that excuse.

OFA Road to Recovery-jobs-june10

Let’s face it, Mr. Obama. Most of the “jobs” you’ve created are temporary census workers, about 225,000 of them, and roadwork. If you weren’t paying up to $10,000 for ARRA signs, like the one below at Dulles Airport, maybe, just maybe, there would be some dollars for unemployment.

Rep. Darrell Issa of the House Oversight Committee is reportedly investigating why these signs cost so much. And Rep. Dave Camp of the Republican House Ways & Means Committee has his own little chart that tells us 48 out of 50 states have lost jobs. Only North Dakota, Alaska & DC have created jobs since the Stimulus. Yep, DC. Sure can believe that one. But how are you gonna explain Rep. Camp’s chart, Mr. Obama? It’s in direct contradiction to yours.

And here’s a quote from your White House website which is titled A Positive Six Months:

This morning, we received the June employment report. It reflected the planned phase out of 225,000 temporary Census jobs. But it also showed the sixth straight month of job growth in the private sector. All told, our economy has created nearly 600,000 private sector jobs this year. That’s a stark turnaround from the first six months of last year, when we lost 3.7 million jobs at the height of the recession.

And as promised, here is Ryan’s little diatribe:

For once, Mr. Obama, please don’t treat us like we are sheep who are know-nothings. We are educated on the facts and deserve that amount of respect. We know the facts.

And a h/t to Alden Weiss for finding this great morphing map of unemployment:

Mr. Obama. Who do you think most people will believe on this one?

The ‘lying by statistics’ is that what is shown visually is NOT total employment but ‘rate of change’, the first derivative … it visually looks like ‘we are back to where we were at the start’ when in reality, it just stopped getting worse.

Unemployment when Obama was elected in Nov 2008: 5.6%. Today we have a SMALLER workforce and almost 10% unemployment on that smaller workforce. more discouraged workers and long-term unemployed than we have had in 2 generations.

Total employment shows a cliff and we are now at the bottom of that cliff, not getting off the map.

When Bush entered office in 2001 there were around 133M people working. When he left in
2009 there were around 135M (down from a 2008/Jan high of slightly less than 138M. During his 8 years there was a GAIN of 1,080,000 jobs.
When Republicans controlled the house and senate ((Jan 95 to Jan.01) the gain over that period was +16,107,000.
When house and senate were split (Jan.01-Jan.03) there were 2,203,000 jobs LOST.
When Republicans controlled house and senate (Jan 03-Jan07) +6,801,000 jobs were GAINED
When Democrats controlled house and senate (Jan 07 to now) -6,497,000 LOST
In the 17 months of Obama -2,979,000 jobs have been lost.

The jobs chart for 2000-2010 shows it clearly.
GOP Congress from Jan 2003-2006 end – Job Growth.
Dem Congress Jan 2007 – today= Job decline

We need to hammer this message home = THE DEMOCRAT’S AGENDA ISN’T WORKING.

Very effective little speech by the Democrat Tim Ryan – he rants about how the Republicans said no to all the good stuff the Democrats are doing.

‘We took on the banks, we took on …” all the wonderful stuff the Democrats have done to beat up on corporate America, and how those evil Republicans just said “no”. No to job-killing bill after job-killing bill. No to bills that pretended to help the little guy but in reality increased Govt control and power at the expenses of our freedom, the business climate, our prosperity, our economy.

The Democrats have sown the seeds of unemployment with their policies and have reaped a financial crisis and an economy flat on its back. Enough of their dangerous destructive policies – the Democrat agenda isn’t working.

Problem is, for the little guys out here like me, this is one issue we cannot properly handle on our own at grass roots. This takes an RNC, region and nationwide ad campaigns lasting weeks, coordinated speaking campaign and planned R efforts. This is the killer issue that can turn out Obama as it turned out Carter, 47-53 popular vote and under 200 electoral votes in 1980. Reagan knew how to exploit it brilliantly. Remember the Misery Index? Remember,”are you better off now than you were four years ago?”
Problem is now, I hear nothing of that sort , from Steele, R leadership, candidates in waiting. I pray it’s just that they are preparing it and getting it ready. Forget the swing independents & remember, a dyed in the wool, solid but unemployed Democrat will forget generations of party loyalty and vote for an R on this issue, if we give them a reason and hope to. Millions of Democrats did for Ronald Reagan.
