MEMBER DIARY

Rich Iott (R) for US House OH#9

For the last 28 years northwest Ohio and Toledo have been in the stranglehold of US House Democratic Progressive Caucus member Rep. Marcy Kaptur who is the longest serving woman in the House. She is a member of the powerful Committee on Appropriations, Committee on the Budget and Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. According to the Caucus ideology the members advocate:

“universal access to affordable, high quality healthcare, fair trade agreements, living wage laws, the right of all workers to organize into labor unions and engage in collective bargaining, the abolition of significant portions of the US Patriot Act, the legalization of same sex marriage, [sic] a complete pullout from the the war in Iraq, a crackdown on corporate welfare and influence, an increase in income tax rates on the wealthy, tax cuts for the poor, and an increase in welfare spending by the federal government.”

Ms. Kaptur will also be remembered as one of the “Stupak 11″ who compromised their pro-life position to deliver the necessary yes-votes to pass health care reform, and she received an extremely dismal rating of 15.31 out of 100 from the American Conservative Union. Ms. Kaptur’s voting record is equally as dismal and according to Project VoteSmart

Representative Marcy Kaptur refused to tell citizens where he/she stands on any of the issues addressed in the 2010 Political Courage Test, despite repeated requests from Vote Smart, national media, and prominent political leaders.

For all the above reasons Toledo and her neighboring cities and counties in US#9 need the business expertise of Rich Iott. He was the CEO of a successful chain of grocery stores in the Toledo area until they were sold under advice of the board to a company named Spartan. Spartan then sold the stores and Kaptur has been running attack ads stating Iott cost the area over 5,000 jobs. It’s been the classic “he said, she said”:

Iott has charged back with this statement using FactCheck.org:

FactCheck.org* examined Ohio 9thCongressional District Rep. Marcy Kaptur’s campaign commercial and found that it “misrepresents the facts” in its accusations against her opponent, Republican Rich Iott. [sic] the ad is wrong to blame Iott for “closing our neighborhood stores,” and it goes too far in blaming him for “costing 5,000 people their jobs.”

Iott has been running this ad:

Iott is against cap and trade, was against the heathcare bill, against bailouts and earmarks and wants to secure our borders. Rich would like to eliminate the US dependence on foreign oil and believes the oil-rich area of Montana would be an excellent place to begin. He would also like to expand our nuclear energy capabilities and has the unique idea of offering veterans returning home positions as Border Patrol and Security personnel. He is a member of the Ohio Military Reserve and is also a staunch supporter of 2nd Amendment rights. He believes those being held at Guantanamo Bay and any other terrorists should be treated as enemy combatants, not criminals and held in military prisons and given military tribunals, not criminal trials. Born of a single mother Rich understands the sanctity of human life and is totally against abortion.

For all the above reasons this writer believes it is time for Ms. Kaptur to go and to be replaced by Rich Iott.

I wrote a diary earlier today and included Iott as one of 29 GOP House candidates that need to go on offense and win.

There will be no greater joy for me on November 3 than to exult in the ouster of every single one of the eleven traitors who sold out the innocent unborn children in this country for the holy grail of socialized medicine.

    Best of luck to Rich!

traitor Kaptur was standing next to him. All proud. And she is a Polish Roman Catholic. How ironic is that? And this just in from Iott in an e-mail:

On September 24, 2008, Rep. Marcy Kaptur voted in favor of HR 2638, a $630 billion bill that contained 2,322 earmarks (Roll Call 632).

Included among those earmarks was $1.5 million for the Presidio Heritage Center in San Francisco, our #7 in the countdown of her most wasteful pork projects.

The Presidio is part of the National Park Service. Because of its unique city-like nature and the costs associated with maintaining it, Congress created the Presidio Trust in 1996 to preserve the Presidio’s resources and to help the park become financially “self-sufficient.” Of course, despite the goal to be financially self-sufficient by 2013, the Presidio is still being supported with pork projects.

This earmark was requested by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. To learn that Rep. Kaptur supported this expenditure should come as no surprise, since she votes with Rep. Pelosi 96% of the time.

To make matters worse, the Presidio Heritage Center received an additional earmark of $5 million in 2009. Apparently, it needed even more government support before becoming financially “self-sufficient.”

Whenever I become weary of the fight, or feel overwhelmed with all that need be done, I picture that scene in my mind.

*Never*, through all the lousy, rotten, unConstitutional legislation that has been passed previously, have I been *that* angry over a piece of legislation. I watched the socialization of our health care system bought over the dead, unborn bodies of the most innocent among us.

There’s a special place in hell for Marcy and the other 10 Stupak members who lied and sold out their souls for the Holy Grail of socialized medicine.

……..from an unemployed typical bitter Jewish God-clinging gun-owning barking-mad-insane NASCAR fan.

he doesn’t even have to say thanks either — save the postage and/or bandwidth for the campaign.

Just get elected and do the right thing by our Constitution and our nation. That’s thanks enough.
