MEMBER DIARY

You thought we just had to deal with OFA? Enter “ActBlue”

One of the things ActBlue does for Democrats is lower the barriers to entry in politics. By enabling talented candidates to link up with donor communities that are interested in supporting them, we ensure that they get the cash they need to run even if they haven’t spent years cultivating connections in the political world. And while all that work is largely invisible to the average voter, it means that when they step into the ballot box on primary day, they have a wider selection of candidates to choose from than they would otherwise.

Recognize the face in this video? Most of you I am sure do. For those of you who don’t it is none other than the ultra-lib/progressive founder of Daily Kos, Markos Moulitsas. And I recognize those orange blow-up chairs in the background so he was speaking from NetRoots 2010 in Vegas in July of this year and the quote above is from him.

This video was found on ActBlue. The number one on-line fundraising tool for Democrats. They have now surpassed $150 million in on-line contributions since 2004 and are fundraising fast. They are up over $2 million more since I checked the site a couple of months ago.

And you guys thought OFA was a threat.

Pretty impressive, wouldn’t you say? And they don’t act alone. ActBlue is partnering with Kos. They are partnering with the ultra-progressive cell phone company CREDO which has given more than $65 million to progressive causes. CREDO by the way is a product of Working Assets which was founded by none other than Drummond Pike, is on the list of “Election Protection” members which helped a GOTV effort for Obama in 2008 and is also a charter member of Marxist/McChesney’s Save the Internet.

ActBlue is also partnering with Progressive Change Campaign Committee (PCCC). Acording to PCCC’s mission statement:

The Progressive Change Campaign Committee (PCCC) works to elect bold progressive candidates to federal office and to help those candidates and their campaigns save money, work smarter, and win more often. We also advocate for bold leadership on the most important and pressing causes.

ActBlue has a candidate directory which can be pulled up by state. Under each candidate’s name you can see who or what group is raising funds for them and how much they have raised. I didn’t count how many candidates are involved but they are not just Congressional candidates but governors and other statewide candidates. And ultra/liberal progressive Stupak 11 member, Marcy Kaptur, of Toledo, my city is on the Ohio list. What do you know. Now let me be perfectly clear. A candidate must agree and set up an account to be a “member” here and fundraise.

Now let’s move on a bit. Take a look at the the Secretary of State project. For those of you who are not aware,

The SOS Project, or the Secretary of State Project, is an independent 527 political organization founded in July 2006 under the premise of advancing ‘election protection’ measures. Members believe that the only way in which to accomplish such a goal is to devote all efforts and resources toward helping get Democrats elected to the offices of Secretary of State in selected swing, or battleground, states, specifically those whose margin of victory in the 2004 presidential election contest was 120,000 votes or less.

The SoS Project was formed largely from the Democracy Alliance which is a group of mega-wealthy individuals whose long term objective is to raise upwards of $200 million for progressive organizations. Among the members of the Democracy Alliance are George Soros, Drummond Pike, Norman Lear, Rob Reiner, SEIU and Rob Glaser. Both Glaser’s Glaser Progress Foundation and Democracy Alliance were 2008 donors to Marxist/McChesney’s Free Press “lets take over all the media and the internet” think tank. At the DNC 2008 national convention in Denver Soros gave the go-ahead for the Democracy Alliance to be a grantee of the Secretary of State Project. Because the Secretary of State Project is set up as a 527 organization it can accept unlimited donations and does not have to disclose the donors until after an election cycle.

Now that you have the above paragraph and its info burned into your brain let’s take a look at the Secretary of State Project website home page. I’m even going to give you a screen shot.

Bowen SOS

Well what do you know. Who do we have on the right hand side here? None other than, you guessed it: ActBlue. And as you can see by the donor list here, Soros himself gave $10,000 to the SoS Project in 2008 and so did ActBlue in both 2006 and 2008.

My algebra teacher taught me if a=c, and b=c, then a=b. So what I have deduced from all the above is every candidate who fundraises under the brim of ActBlue is involved with George Soros. Maybe by two degrees of separation at the most.

This writer isn’t going to make any bets whether or not all of these candidates are aware of this.

But there’s only so much I can take from our friends on the left without ‘becoming a tad miffed’.

L.I.O., thanks for the link to the SOS Project thing. I’d heard about that “nudge” a few months ago, but never followed up on it.

To help my hand-eye coordination, I did a multiple copy screen print of their home page view and now have some additional and shiny new targets pieces of paper for tomorrow’s trip to the range Stress Relief Center.

Should be able to “fill in an amount” in the donation dollar boxes quite accurately from at least fifty yards, prone, 3x scope, .22LR and/or .223 Rem.

Then, upon my return home and after cleaning my evil scary-looking guns toys, I’ll endeavor to start scratching below the surface on the matter of The US Commission On Civil Rights vis-a-vis Voting Rights Act violations and especially one Mr. Michael Yaki.

      an automag with a scope?

Has a calming effect after a stressful day watching the yo-yo lefties come up with new ways to hoist the American Citizenry and Country on top of pikes.

At the range, I up ‘n done pretty dang on good….. Yessum.

Had mucho fun-o with my newly acquired targets and even though I upped my optics magnification to somewhere between 4-6x, accuracy was below ‘okay’ for the first one. The second was a tad better. Third was pretty decent – of the 25 rounds, 14 found the little entry boxes of choice and overall, 20 were grouped within about a 6-inch area. All 25 hit paper. Fourth target I was going for the corners just to do something different.

I just loves my lil’ ol’ .22LR plinker.

Pamela, as for my auto preference (if any), that’s classified. ;)

This fire has to be met with fire. Taking Coke empties back to Kroger’s is not going to pay for what needs to be done.

Lack of historical literacy among our youth, especially regarding a certain former nation east of Poland.

And here’s a hint for our young trolls if you’re still stumped: “Evil Empire”.

No, the answer is not “Darth Vader”.

but I now recall the smug look on his face as he pronounced the words for which ‘CCCP’ stood (circa 1970).

Soros and Kos and Bing and Lewis and whoever can donate however many scores of millions they want and the press will never utter a word.

He really does want to buy the US Gov. He’s smarter than Didius Julianus in that he doesn’t want to actually run it. He just wants the mineral rights and the royalties.

The silly illusions the left has on what the world will be like if they take over and subjugate the rest of us.

Also known as no one will be there to pay for all their projects and causes they want “the poor” (and themselves of course) to have for free. Because free is their right, as is someone to clean up after them, do laundry, cook, run out and buy however many half decaf soy caramel lattes and take out the properly sorted trash.

Soon the consequences of reality will run rough shod over the illusions of the perfect world they struggle for so valiantly between tweets.
