Thanks for the warning about the incident. This cactus is slated to do alternate judging in one of these precincts. Emergency call for 1400 PWs and AJs, so far only about 1000 have volunteered. We are all getting prepared. About 5 million population in Harris County and out of that about 2 million voters. Can you imagine the potential for mischief if they all have to vote on paper? Bad enough on machines! Guess where the fraudulent registrations were found (whose Congressional district)? Hint: not predominantly Republican ones. The DA is looking into it but the election is coming too soon. But also, a little good news. Early voting this election is breaking records in Harris County – started this week. Anecdotally but heard often, more people are voting straight ticket than ever before. I guess people are really *mad* about something. I wonder what it could be ?!

and I am not talking just of state action. I think there are a few Texans out there that are not likely to be intimidated. I think the action item is for MORE poll watchers, I envision two old school Texans at every polling locale. They can leave the night sticks and dreadlocks at home. Am I wrong to suggest this?

Pramila Jayapal, head of OneAmerica Votes, says the campaign is about empowering immigrants who may not feel like they can contribute to a campaign because they can’t vote.

The training is necessary to properly fulfill your duties. At the training you will receive the required affidavits to allow you to be present in the polling place.

I joined yesterday and really wanted to comment on this. Right after I finished my profile stuff I went back to the main page and this is the first story I saw. It was really spooky because it almost exactly mirrored my recent experience as an election worker in Nueces County. Like the lady in the story I reported the illegal activities to my supervisors, the County Clerk, and the Texas Secretary of State. I doubt anything is being done. Also, in addition to the violations, the behavior of the Democratic poll workers was over the top rude. I have worked several elections, with many of the same folks, and I had never seen anything like it. It was NASTY! I finally just walked out.
