I started a post some time ago and then became frustrated in my futile attempts to wordsmith the right essay.  Please understand that in an earlier lifetime I was an English teacher and taught 11th and 12th ‘skulls of mush’ how to write. I graduated from an Ohio small college that pursued excellence and fostered critical thinking.  Ironically, here I am now, intimidated by the incredible gifted writing that appears on RedState.

I just read Haystack’s beautiful Memorial Day piece, A Moment of Wonder, and realized how connected we all are to one another in this community.  I intend to write more.  I want to encourage our readers to write themselves.  Express yourself!  We may all be better as a result.  Keep up the great work, fellow RedStaters, and have a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day!
