Florida CNN Debate CoveritLive

Unbelievably, yet another debate is on tap tonight. Thankfully, this one is on CNN, so hopefully we will have fewer questions about Terri Schiavo and the Great Beet Sugar Menace. Click the window or chime in in the comments!

we are in for a bumpy ride.

  • txpat

They need to focus on BO

I still don’t think most conservatives are going to get fired up for Mitt, though. This really has become a sad spectacle. The Super PAC ads will keep running on both sides and will continue to drive their negatives up.

The media will be forced to bring up these negative ads in the debates as both campaigns cry foul about the other. This is a never-ending cycle that has absolutely no benefit to it.

Next they will be asked if you are a tree what kind of tree would you be.
Wolf needs to remove himself from this.

  • carolina

it might be effective if it wasn’t so obvious.

The establishment was ‘clever’ and seated Mitt ‘insurance’.
Paul had his usual good attendence too.

But, will the media let him win the debate!

    • maybenexttime

The media will be declaring Gingrich as the big loser, that’s for sure. The question is whether this declaration by the media will actually help Gingrich, or take the wind out of his sails.

…it’s our job to make up our own minds.

        • maybenexttime

If you don’t think the media steers public opinion in a certain direction, you’re living in a bubble. The media won’t effect your opinion or mine, but it will impact those who mistakenly believe the press still functions for the people of America.

50-0. You want to vote for that?

    • http://edgeinducedcohesion.wordpress.com nathanalbright

…could win a state like Alaska or Oklahoma.

      • snowshooze

        I’m pretty sure. lol

    • maybenexttime

Santorum would win some Southern states and perhaps some Great Plains/Western states like KS, OK, WY, UT etc.

The problem is Santorum would not carry the big three: FL, OH, and PA. If you can’t get two of those three, you won’t win an election. Santorum probably couldn’t even carry PA since he lost their as an incumbent senator by 18 points.

    • loneranger2012

Are you for real? Santorum would win the Republican base states of 197 and maybe more and not have to leave his campaign Headquaters.

By the way only Ronald Reagan won that big, running against a Liberal just like Obama. NO democrat has ever won 500+ Electoral Votes! We could run a puppy dog for president and Obama would not get 538 Electoral Votes!

cowbell… I mean applause, to get his point across.

The immigration questions, and the space program are big in FL. But how well does a colony on the moon translate in, say, Oregon. Not sure that the “wife” question translated anywhere. Mitt did a fairly good job of differentiating Obamacare from Romneycare but still, its gov’t involvement so what’s the diff?

  • snowshooze

As much as it scares me… it just keeps looking better every day.
What scares me is they might pick one of these guys. Or…possibly even worse.

    • bonnman

Newt failed BIG tonight and Romney even came out supporting Obamacare but still came out looking stronger. Romney will be the nominee.

      • snowshooze

But I do not have to like the truth.

      • txpat

I think it was a draw.
Nether one helped themselves in this debate with all the firing at each other instead of taking it to BO and his failed policies.
They are not going to win voters if they keep up the nasty behavior.

        • bonnman

and he needed a solid debate performance and he didn’t do it. Romney got the best of Newt over and over again. Newt’s done.

          • txpat

If it is close in Florida then Newt will move on.
If Santorum doesn’t do well in Florida he will end his campaign.
If Santorum bows out after Florida then the not Romney folks will get behind Newt.
We will see how everything shakes out Tuesday.
All my opinion only, my crystal ball was sent in for repair.

Even if Lazarus analogy wasn’t an exact fit I still believe he will carry on past Florida.

  • txpat

Over all CNN wanted Newt and Mitt to go for each others throats.
I believe Newt saw where Wolf was going with it, and tried to rise above it.
Mitt didn’t want to rise above it, because people think he is weaker than Newt on debates. I think this didn’t work for Newt or Mitt.
My opinion on who won the debate.
    1. Santorum
    2. Newt
    3. Romney
    4. Paul

    • loneranger2012

I agree Santorum won the debate big!

  • popdaddy

I haven’t watched anything on CNN since the Fox News cable channel launched. Why does the GOP continue to allow Socialist Democrat networks have shots at the GOP candidates?

Of course, Brit Hume just concluded dumping his latest bucket of Romney water on Greta’s show so maybe it’s just time to turn off TV and go read a book.
Tom Clancy’s “Locked On’ is a very appropriate read for this day and time if you’ve not read it. Match the characters for fun!
