Pro-Trump Super PAC Brags: A Trump-Newt Ticket Would have Six Ex-Wives!

Yeah, “brags” is the right word there. I’m not even exaggerating a little bit.

Ed Rollins, the head of the largest pro-Trump Super PAC Great America PAC, had this to say about Newt Gingrich’s open lobbying to become Trump’s Vice President:

Gingrich has, in effect, launched his own campaign to secure the nomination. “I think Newt is lobbying to be the vice president, and I think their people are paying a lot of attention to him,” says Ed Rollins, a Republican operative and former Gingrich staffer now working for a super PAC supporting Trump’s candidacy. “It’d be a ticket with six former wives, kind of like a Henry VIII thing,” Rollins says. “They certainly understand women.”

Yeah… I don’t know if having six ex-wives between the two men is an indication that they actually understand women. I mean, I would look at it as pretty conclusive evidence that they do not understand women. Or that, at best, they understand women in the same way people with a cold understand Kleenexes.

One more point to make here, and that’s about Mike Huckabee. Recall that Ed Rollins is the guy Mike Huckabee picked to head his campaign in 2008. This is the guy Mike Huckabee felt most comfortable with. And he’s bragging about how awesome Trump and Newt are because of the string of ex-wives they’ve left behind.

Remember that the next time someone tries to trick you into thinking that Mike Huckabee is an honestly religious person, or any sort of nice guy in any way. If nothing else, this election should finally throw the last heap of dirt on the faux respectability Mike Huckabee once had with evangelicals, and for good reason.
