This is Life and Death

The 2012 election is not merely  another election. This is life and death. The life of our country as we know it, the life of our freedoms, and for some, the medical care they need to survive.  Mounting debts, Obamcare, and the liberal agenda threaten the very existence of America. We are deciding our future in this election.

This fact hit me early this year: this election will change my life, and in more ways than one. You see, I had planned to go into the medical field, but with Obamacare in place, how can I? How can I as a Christian deny medical services to a patient because the government decrees that due to their illness they are not valid, contributing citizens? How can I work as a medical professional with the knowledge that I may lose my job because I refuse to do a procedure I morally disagree with? Unless Obamacare is repealed, I am very much in doubt whether I will continue into the field of medicine.

No matter what career I choose, how will I be successful in this economy? For that matter, how do I even know that in ten years, America will still be the land of opportunity? As a Christian, I am concerned about our freedom to worship God privately and publicly. I fear what our country will look like in ten years if President Obama’s agenda is continued.

Unfortunately, most Americans do not see, or are unconcerned about how all of this affects them personally. I pray that we will not be passive, and treat this as “Just Another Election”. This is life and death.

Are you willing to defy ‘laws’ that are immoral and tell you not to treat someone because a gov’t board decides their ‘value’ has run out?

Are you willing to go to prison rather than perform a gov’t mandated abortion?

I’m not trying to put you on the spot.

These days, there is plenty of rhetoric and paltry willingness of people to put their necks on the line.

When facing evil, it is not enough merely to walk away from the fight, nor to talk. Action is what is needed. I bring this up because we as a nation have to decide if we’re willing to take EFFECTIVE action to stonewall the further progress of evil in this country. Are we willing to give up our fortunes (everything we own)? Are we willing to sacrifice, TRULY SACRIFICE, to save freedom for our posterity? Are we willing, like the first century Christians, like the Whigs of England and like the patriots of our own history, from its beginning til now, to put our lives on the line and, if needed, give them up?

Resistance doesn’t (necessarily) mean fighting anyone. It can take the form of civil disobedience, speaking out, ever more loudly as they try to shout you down, losing your job, going to jail, etc etc etc.

How many are willing to do these things anymore?

That is why I care so much about this election. I grew up in medicine and have known many friends who would not survive under Obamacare. Would I go to jail to save their lives? Absolutely!! I don’t want our country to get to that point. I will fight to get Romney/Ryan elected so Obamacare can be repealed.

I am a committed Christian, and if one day Christians in America are persecuted, I will be among them. If our freedoms are in jeopardy, of course, I’m willing to sacrifice. For now, I will do my part to keep that from happening.
