I thought you were asking my opinion.

If we had gone after employers that illegally hired illegal aliens in the first place there would not be 20 million of them here.

From the 1920s to the 1960s we had a low level of legal immigration. America was just as shining a city if not more so back then. Yet despite war, chaos, and dictatorships, Europeans, Hispanics, and Asians all respected our laws and came here legally or stayed where they were. Even Operation Wetback would not have been needed had the government gone after the Farmers that hired illegals in the first place.

I don't understand your immigration obsession but, mass immigration will never benefit the GOP and will destroy this shinning city on a hill that we all love. If you don't understand that then there is no further discussing this subject with you. Your opinion is noted.

that you know nothing about our immigration laws. Here's sample proof:

"US citizens should marry their alien fiancees at one of our many embassies to avoid the need for an immigrant visa."

Since 2007, this is no longer legally possible. Since 2007, US Embassies and Consulates do not do this and do not accept such applications. American citizens wishing to marry foreign fiance(e)s are now forced to do one of the following:
1) marry the fiance(e) in her/his home country, at its governmental office, have that country's papers translated into English and certified, submit them and an application for a green card to the USCIS, and wait until the green card is issued before the alien can come to the US; or
2) file a petition to the USCIS to issue a fiancee visa to the alien fiance(e); this request is first considered by the USCIS, then the National Visa Center in New Hampshire, and then by the relevant US Embassy/Consulate.

As for cutting off access to jobs, that's a necessary step, but it will not solve the illegal alien issue on its own. As long as America is still the shining city on a hill, hundreds of thousands of people WILL want to immigrate into this country - to enjoy the liberties it offers if for no other reason. Reducing the level of visas WILL have a significant impact on illegal immigration, as it will make immigrating LEGALLY into the US much harder and therefore encourage people to immigrate into the US illegally. I know, because I was born in a border state (Texas), grew up in Texas, lived there for many years of my life, did my military service in Texas (when it was still compulsory), and lived in another border state (Arizona) for many years before moving here (to Virginia) in 2009. So I would say that I know immigration issues and border security issues better than most users of this website. I know many legal immigrants, most of whom are now naturalized US citizens, and have also run into some illegals in the past. I know why people immigrate here, and what will happen if immigrating here legally is made much more difficult (or banned outright, as Tom Tancredo and the CIS would like to do).

"Deport criminal illegal aliens after bringing them to justice"

You're going to deport 20 million illegal aliens? How?

"Cap Annual Legal Immigration to 1/2,000th the total US population as of the most recent Census (154,373)) with no concerns about diversity or national origin"

By setting such a low ceiling, you will only encourage people to come to America illegally. All "immigration conservatives" need to realize that as long as the US is the shining city on the hill, hundreds of thousands of people will be trying to immigrate to the US.

"5) V1 ? Family Visas

Sponsored by US Citizens or Legal Residents
Only for spouses and minor children of US Citizens or legal residents
Cap at 60% annual cap per year"

What about fiance(e)s of US citizens? Why no fiance(e) visa like the K-1 visa?
