Two Special Ways to Support Our Military This 4th Of July
There are those amongst us who never fail to inspire and encourage us with their willingness to support our military. Actor Gary Sinise is, by far, my personal favorite. He has willingly and (as it may seem) tirelessly pursued providing ways to help to our service people and their families around the world.
Gary now has set up a new organization, called the Gary Sinise Foundation. The Mission statement of the Gary Sinise Foundation reflects the deep sense of patriotism and duty to honor our military that is evident in so many activities in which Gary is involved.
At the Gary Sinise Foundation, we serve our Nation by honoring our defenders, veterans, first responders, their families, and those in need.
We do this by creating and supporting unique programs designed to entertain, educate, inspire, strengthen, and build communities.
Anyone who has seen the movie Forrest Gump remembers the character of Lieutenant Dan, played by Gary Sinise. Gary carries this character with him into his activities of supporting our troops through the Lt. Dan Band. But now, Gary is taking his efforts “up a notch” in his own words. An online documentary, entitled “Lt. Dan Band: For The Common Good” which records Gary’s experiences as he interacts with our military and their families will be released on July 4th
When you stream “Lt. Dan Band: For The Common Good” – one out of every four dollars will be donated to The Gary Sinise Foundation which honors our nations defenders by supporting the USO, Operation International Children, Snowball Express, and other such charities and efforts that support the military, first responders and their families. Thank you for helping us give back to those willing to give all!
A second special patriotic effort to support our troops is being provided from Cracker Barrel Old Country Store via their “World’s Longest Front Porch” promotional through the 4th of July.
Submit your photo to support Wounded Warrior Project™
Helping our country’s wounded warriors is a cause we care deeply about. That’s why we are asking Cracker Barrel guests from across the U.S. to join us in supporting Wounded Warrior Project. For every picture you submit, we’ll donate $1 to Wounded Warrior Project, up to $35,000.
Here’s how you can help. Go to the front porch at any one of our Cracker Barrel locations or even your very own and take a picture.
Be sure to:
- Take the picture while you are seated on a porch
- Spread your arms out as shown in the pictures above
After taking the picture, come back to this web page and upload it by clicking on the button below. You can also email the photo to firstname.lastname@example.org
So for those who may be travelling this weekend, please take the time to take advantage of this offer.
These are great opportunities to provide extra help for our military, which is very little to ask of us considering the sacrifices and risks that they take in our behalf.
