Watching London Burn…

Today is coming to an end in England, and already there are new reports of violence on the streets.

Less than an hour ago, a twitter post was noted that sales of baseball bats has increased 5000% on Amazon!  A low base is being assumed, but it’s still significant.  No one knows for certain who is buying the bats…protesters or citizens seeking to defend themselves.

David Cameron and other members of Parliament have returned to London from their standard Parliamentary vacation breaks to deal with the crisis.  There will be over 16,000 police on the streets of London tonight, hoping to preserve some sense of law and order.  A request has been sent out for volunteers among retired officers to sustain other areas of the nation.

As of now, reports are coming in that the civil violence has moved to other areas of the nation, including both Birmingham and Manchester.

Here’s a live feed link for those who care to follow events as they unfold.

they’re a tad more aerodynamic and made of hardwood. This cat prefers a heavy, steel shafted putter, but bats are a tad cheaper.

This is the decision point for the Brits – what future will they choose?

How do we respond when chaos appears to reign, anarchists take to the streets and literally run riot through our cities?

This morning I met up with 2 friends and headed into one of the worst affected areas of London. This video explains a little about the nations response and helps us pray in the aftermath of last nights chaos.

If you would like more help in understanding how to pray Alana Wiens has written an excellent post on her blog.

    Let’s pray!

The regulars in the police force want to crack heads but the PC commanders won’t have any of it. You reap what you sow.

The problem with a polite and unarmed society is the same problem with leaving the purse in plain view in a locked car. At some point, some youth picks up a rock and takes what he wants and .. then what do you do?

This is England’s time to choose. I suspect the younger members of the Royal Family may be called on to rule, not just reign.

“Carry a gun because when seconds count, the police are just minutes away”…

This generation – the pre-teens and teens and twentysomethings running amok are the children of the first generation of Brits to not see an actual, hot war on the continent. Their parents weren’t armed, their grandparents disarmed after winning the peace. Little did they know….

R.A.H. had it right – an armed society is a polite society, and the churlish children of today’s England have never learned what that means. There will be remedial lessons…

Thought that WWII was it…..never again they thought.
They turned inward and developed their great progressive society where
            everyone just needs a hug.
Look how it is turning out.

I’m in London right now, and for the first time in my life I’m scared. There are rioters where members of family work, several major warehouses were torched, and a load of pathetic little angry young men are stealing from stores around the country. Britain is going down the route of France, and I don’t mean making the best wine in the world.

    • Scope

Rush has been talking about the London riots today. He played a soundbite of 2 female protesters. The Obama argument against the rich has hit London. They claimed that anyone who has a business is rich, and that they are going to make sure the business owners hear them. Is it mostly youth that are rioting?

      • BigRedConservative

And the majority under 20. I even saw 12 and 13 year olds. These people have never seen a family member work, and have been sustained on benefits instituted by the left-wingers. Their lifeline is government, and they’re simply bitter at the thought of other people’s success.

One of the big reasons for these riots are single-parent families. Kids growing without a father figure migrate to gangs as surrogate fathers. Society is tearing apart at the seams.

group on one of the live feeds earlier this afternoon. Also, reports coming in now of vigilantes in the streets trying to protect their businesses (Enfield area)

Stay safe. We’ll be thinking of you.

Generations have been told they have the “right” to expect something for nothing, and that Government will take care of them not only in their old age, but even earlier. When this fantasy inevitably proves false, the anger is misdirected at whomever possesses through legitimate means what the fools in question have been told they “deserve.”

I woudn’t be surprised if it starts happening over here very soon.  This had been happening in Greece for a year or so (usually when the bill for all the bennies comes due), and it has happened on occasion at G-x summits and whenever an “act of injustice” has taken place (usually involving a non-Caucasian being arrested and treated unusually roughly).  This time, it looks to be akin to that great peasant uprising in medieval France, when the nobility had to step in and put it down rather brutally after it threatened to overthrow them.

Are the welfare-state liberals going to show their true colors now?  I have said in the past that it seems like the whole Left is more like a revival of the medieval Feudalist system, with government-aid recipients becoming something like the peasants working under a lord or vassal with no choice as to what they should do for themselves or where to live.  How long before they set the armies on the rioters?

Here in the States, Glenn Beck has been saying that this is coming to us in time.  All it’ll take is for something to start going against the dominant Leftists in DC, and organized mobs will start flashing up everywhere, threatening lives and property until we submit to our Marxist overlords. He even sees George Soros behind it all (though the giggling when he says this gives me reason to doubt him).

Perhaps then would be time for us to start that counter-riot…

    • http://impudent.edublogs.org/ kyle8

Maybe in a few areas like Detroit and San Francisco. What we are watching is well orchestrated. The closest thing we have seen in the USA are the organized riots at the G7 meeting several years ago.

But there are limits to how much you can organize brain dead American youth. Besides they wouldn’t stand up against any counter demonstration for very long.

We need to keep an eye on Van Jone’s “Contract With America” initiative that he’s trying to inspire to combat against Tea Party influence. Sure, it’s primarily political on his part, but it does lay the same kind of groundwork that has existed in Britain.

        http://contract.rebuildthedream.com/

They use kids to persuade other kids that they should have these high (and somewhat unrealistic) expectations of society and of government.

That video is about two years old, meaning they’ve been laying this groundwork for a while now. Here’s a new rendition, which BTW could easily be turned into an ad against Obama (his accrual of our debt being much higher than Bush’s)

The same type of mentality was established in European nations, like GB. But now, someone is using those expectations against the government to generate a well-organized uprising. Check out the link above about the flyer being passed around amongst looters.

So now, it has morphed into this:

It’s hard to catch what the person in the mask is saying, but he keeps repeating “The police can’t do anything” and says “I’m here for the money”.
They believe this, Kyle. They believe that the law has been rendered useless (which given all the PC limitations being placed on the police isn’t that far from the truth).

Last night, in the Enfield area of London, there were citizens who protected their communities by standing watch all night long. Other communities are starting to follow suit.

I read a comment by a British ex-pat who became an American citizen two decades ago saying that regardless of what the EU thinks of us Yanks and our laws, the saving grace in our nation right now is the 2nd Amendment, but if something like this takes root here, in the USA, it will be 10 times worse, because we do have access to arms. He’s right, Kyle. It will be.

We need to start coming up with some viable options to get our kids out of the federal school system, where they are being brainwashed by this type of propaganda, and it needs to be done very soon.

for riot-associated charges, even if all they stole was something trivial like chewing gum, is being released on bail. Magistrates are remanding all of them over to the Royal Court, where charges against them are likely to be much more stringent, regardless of age or circumstances.

It’s eerie, reading the description of how these gangs just melt away into the shadows. This IS a well-organized effort. Look at the way that they shifted attacks to Manchester and the Midlands last night after Cameron announced boosting police forces in London. These gangs members are very obviously familiar with the back streets and alleys. They are brazen in standing up to the police in public, then disperse quickly at the first indication of challenge, which is making it difficult to catch the perpetrators.

A lot of them are very young….12, 13, 14 years old. Even a 10-year old was remanded to jail yesterday.

    There will be blood.

Phila. is now on a 9 pm curfew for teens, Chicago had a white swimmer killed by a black “flash mob,” Miami is thinking of ending its Memorial Day Urban Weekend due to black riots and some shootings, and these events have been happening all over the US, although none has reached the level of mayhem as the rampages in England. We should remember, Paris’ suburbs experience Muslim chaos most nights with burning cars and trashed businesses.

The worst part is the lack of response by the police that I think have been signaled by such sterling law and order people as Holder that cops should hold back on enforcng peace and protecting ordinary citizens on pain of being sued for “racism” and discrimination.

The sooner the citizenry demands these terror incidents be stopped, the sooner we will be on our way to keeping the civil rights gains of th last 50 years.
