Facing What Lies Ahead With A Sense Of Urgency

The following video came to me via personal email this morning.  I wanted to share it with others at RS because the message it presents is one of faith that we can carry with us each and every day in these uncertain times we’re facing.

This is an interview of the pilot that should have been in the pilot’s seat on Flight 11, Sept. 11th, 2001.  He relates the series of events that occurred during the day on Sept. 10th of that year, and then draws a correlation about how those events have served to reinforce his sense of purpose and direction in life.

The pilot’s message is one of living life with a sense urgency and focusing on the final outcomes….of hearing “Well done, thou good and faithful servant”.

As a Christian, I genuinely enjoyed the video, and my thanks go out to those who took the time to present it.  It’s so easy, when faced with uncertainty in the world around us, to become distracted by events or to get caught up in what’s going on, mentally and emotionally.  And in doing so, we can forget to be consciously aware of our actions and of the opportunities that God provides for each and every day.

God tells us that we each reap what we sow.  Things don’t always go the way we want them to go.  There are many things in life itself that we have no control over whatsoever.  But in all things, regardless of what kind of circumstances may exist, we face the same challenge…it all comes down to what kind of seed we choose to sow.

It is within our means to choose to sow the kind of seed that will reap blessings.  Blessings aren’t always limited to this earthly life or to ourselves as individuals.  They can spill over into the lives of those around us and into the context of all eternity as well.

God is providing us with opportunity after opportunity to determine what kind of seed we will choose to sow.  Just because those opportunities come to us via tough times doesn’t mean that what we choose no longer matters.  It does matter.  It can make all the difference in the world in the long run.

My hope and my prayer is that we can find the courage, strength of will, determination, perseverance, and conviction to put the opportunities we have to good use, in all that we do, each and every day.

To all my fellow Christians and patriots at RS, may you have a blessing-filled day today and for many days to come.

ME Want video now ! Pretty-please?

I posted the above video. I can see it fine in Google Chrome, which is what I’m using. But if someone is using IE, they can’t get to it.

How can I solve this? Do I need to edit the diary and post the video a different way? If so, can you point me in the right direction? The video is excellent!!! It truly is.

I’ve attempted to repost it, but that isn’t resolving the problem. Check back later. Maybe one of the moderators has a solution to this, okay?

What a beautiful tribute. A tearjerker for sure. Makes me think of the scripture in Romans….”And we know that all things work together for good to those who loved God; to them who are called according to His purpose.” The Lord allowed pilot Scheibner to live as He knew that the pilot would use the experience to bring attention to the most beautiful story ever told. Stories like this help us all to persevere when it seems like the most unfair things are happening. The scriptures promise us that while not all things that happen to us are good, if we will be patient, we will see God “work it all together” for good.

Truly, it was. The story told by Mr. Scheibner reminded me of things that I was losing sight of in these uncertain times. So it served as a “priority adjuster” of sorts to keep my eye on the ultimate goal I should be pursuing.

It’s very tempting at times to become apathetic when so much uncertainty exists. Or at least it’s proving to be that way for me. To take a defeatist type of attitude that nothing can be done and nothing I do will make any difference.

Mr. Scheibner’s reminisces reminded that this isn’t the case. What I can not do, God can. And what I can do, I should do with the sense of urgency that is described, not with apathy.

with all of you here. The message it presents is timeless, yet it seems to poignant at this moment in light of the uncertainty we’re facing.

The video itself was completed as a Senior project for a student at Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC. That person deserves a real salute, because it is very well done.

Its message is so spot on that I’d like to see it used in my church sometime. We did a 9/11 prayer and meditation this year and it would have fit perfectly.

And you’re right, the video looks VERY well done. Kudos to the senior project student.

Entered G C and came back online. Had to adjust screen size and re-enter password with” remember me” for site comments. my lettering fonts look somewhat different but am looking for adjustments. Spell check is active. All in all not a bad deal. Type entry is quicker too.
What’s that they say about compensating errors?

Now on to the video. Thanks for the effort.

I can truly say that I am not worthy. My struggles fade to nothingness, and I thank you for this effort.

      { Once again R S,and it’s denizens, * Bring It*, in spades.
