The uniform, I mean. Because to impersonate a member of the US Armed Forces is a felony and wearing the actual uniform qualifies as impersonating.

Years ago, they usually just turned the buttons upside down on the dress uniforms. Now, well…
I don’t think Hollywood knows or even Cares enough to even try to get the uniform close enough to matter.
For example, Air Force NCO stripes don’t go on the ACU (Transformers).

I had not heard about this until reading your post. It’s amazing how this type of thing goes under-reported while at the same time I’m forced to watch the “reporters” on television talk about Casey Anthony or Drew Peterson for the 10 millionth time.

Media seems to be avoiding the investigation necessary for a story. These days any story is picked up by the media and advertised as truth. To verify a story, motives and cross-checking via multiple sources seem to be thing of the past.

If you look closely media is more about Corporate motives of media parent/sister companies, currying favors, political considerations, catering to the base/mood….
