The “Pro-Life” Democrats’ Lenten Trifecta

I don’t know what the exact percentage is, but I imagine that the vast majority of the so-called, pro-life Democrats who voted in legion with Nancy Pelosi to pass nationalized health care consider themselves to be Christian . . . that and a buck fifty will get you a cup of coffee these days, but not much else.

Many “Christians”, when it comes to their Christianity, amount to nothing more than a puddle of lukewarm spittle who view their religion as merely a “faith tradition”. You know the kind; they’re nominally Christian at best, but think it’s kinda homey to go through the motions on Sunday, because after all, tradition is nice and hell, it resonates with the voters. But, like lots of other personal traditions, they believe that Christianity should stay boxed up during the regular workaday week . . . lest it offend someone of a different tradition.

It should be no surprise then that whenever they face pressure and temptation, they fold like a house of cards subjected to no more than a swift breeze. They have no divinely supported foundation to stand upon and therefore no real depth in their virtue; a “faith tradition” is no more than a weak emanation from a penumbra, to borrow an infamous phrase. Without the real armor of God, they are mere putty in the hands of their fallen nature, the world, and the demonic.

How fitting it is then that their transgression against the unborn occurred during the season of lent.

When Christ secluded himself in the desert, the fallen angel, Satan, brazenly tempted Christ, even offering Him all the kingdoms of the world, if only He should bow to Satan in worship. The so-called, pro-life Democrats were also just offered the world, if only they would turn a blind eye to the appetite of the abortion industry. And, the only consolation to the mirage that is their principles?  An executive order with about as much bite as a toothless octogenarian.

To add insult to injury regarding the abomination that Obamacare is to life, the so-called, pro-life Democrats committed their betrayal right on the Lord’s Day, a Sunday. Add to this Nancy Pelosi’s prayer for the intercession of St. Joseph regarding the passage of Obamacare, and you’ve got the perfect trifecta of sacrilege. Yes, indeed, the Democrats really are the party of death, both physical and eternal.

I would like to leave the so-called, pro-life Democrats with a few messages from their “faith tradition.” Perhaps it will fall on deaf ears, but still, maybe there’s some small ember of faith left in them that may yet be kindled by a warning that should not be so easily shirked.

Obamacare will open the floodgates of abortion with federal funding and unfettered access (say “so long” to any and all restrictions). In facilitating the passage of Obamacare, you, the so-called pro-life Democrat, ignore the very warnings of Christ regarding the invaluable life of a child:

At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, (Matthew 18: 1-2)

But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh! (Matthew 18: 6-7)

So-called, pro-life Democrats, you have greased the wheels of abortion and have offended vast numbers of future children by preventing them from even having the opportunity to serve their Lord in this life. You may have temporarily gained the world and the accolades of Pelosi and Obama, but these things are fleeting. You have summarily ignored a dire warning from the one true God. If you’ve still got a shred of your Christian faith within you, then fear of God should be your dominant thought, accompanied by a headlong rush to repent, for you are “that man by whom the offence cometh.”

God.” I hope that it is a “millstone” around their neck for evermore. The people will find putting faith in men is a losing proposition; if only their eyes could be opened to see.

It is a painful day, but our work and prayers continue.

It’s especially revealing that Stupak went off an partied at a dive bar with fellow Democrats after voting for Obamacare. For such a pro-life guy, he sure seems to be all in. Raising a toast when his actions will affect countless unborn lives is depraved.

See “http://www.bluegrasspundit.com/2010/03/stupak-parties-with-demo-buddies-after.html” for a description of Stupak’s night out.

Thank you for reading, commenting, and the reco too!

Hope all is well with you, penguin2.

…that is far worse than any of the fire and brimstone from those books. I hope Judas’ wife is looking for another church to attend.

There are all sorts of dangers in this life and some occupations are certainly more hazardous than others. People like Stupak too easily forget that dangers come in two varieties: mortal and eternal. Congressmen don’t face just too many mortal dangers, but they are in an especially risky place when it comes to eternal dangers. Their decisions affect a great many and they will have much to answer for . . . not to any human authority, but to the only authority that matters in the end.

That executive order Stupak fell for isn’t worth the toilet paper it’s written on.

    • mailloux

Stupak is shameless because he knows exactly what you wrote that it, “isn’t worth the toilet paper it’s written on.” Maybe I’ll send him a wallet sized photo of my youngest child (still an infant) with the simple message written on the back, “Dear Bart, Thanks for nothing. Sincerely, a Baby”

Just from the title and the author, I knew it was going to be a recommend-worthy article. I just finished reading the article, and I can’t say that I regret my decision. Great write up, and I hope that Stupak enjoys his temporal rewards: he won’t be getting any eternal accolades, that’s for sure. Even now, one can see the character of those who now praise him, and compare it to that of those that he betrayed, and see that such praise is fleeting. Thanks for writing what was thinking, but couldn’t articulate.

    • mailloux

Given who you are, that is high praise indeed. Thank You!

For the pro-life movement, Stupak is much like a Trojan horse and that executive order that he embraced is much like a Nerf sword one of my kids might play with.

and, by their work, it is seen with whom they are in league..

This has been much in my mind during these past few days:

“And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.”

Surprising that I haven’t been downhearted as much as I had predicted. Come November there is every good chance to cast them from DC.

Great choice of scripture! And, I sincerely believe that if we were able to see with eyes that weren’t fallen, we’d see how horribly apt it really is with respect to the most recent axis of evil (Obama-Pelosi-Reid . . . and legion).
