I'm not surprised by Hatch's one liner "I intend to..." That doesn't exactly state that he is backing Holder... so much as he's floating intent... it could be posturing he may have some principled reason... I don't know... maybe he's thinking... "support Obama publicly, hope Holder fails miserably"...

I can't even imagine the politicking going on in the background on this...

I wouldn't hang Sen. Hatch for this... there's other stuff he's done to piss me off...

As a former Utahn I feel like Sen. Hatch could move along... but I think he represents his constituents very well... he's quite popular in that state... and it'll be hard to replace him... If it doesn't happen on the next election cycle then it may be a lost seat due to the rising Dem population in Salt Lake, Davis, Summit, and Cache counties...

Are all the so-called Conservatives coming down with a sudden case of spineless ness coupled with severe cajones impairment?

First Warner, (irrelevant, gone from Senate) now Hatch. Say it isn't so. How can he support a man that has shown disdin for certain Amendments to the Constitution (2nd) and also showed that he is ethically inadequate based on his role and his testimony about that role in the pardon of Marc Rich (notorius member of the Top 10 Most Wanted and possibly involved in speculating the price of oil up) and the pardons of 16 admitted, convicted terrorists for the political gain of Hillary?

Has Hatch decided to phone it in for the next term? What do the people of Utah think about this? What the heck has he been promised?
