Stay on message - redistribution of wealth

Stay on message - redistribution of wealth

McCains’ campaign is still lacking a focused message.

Davis is thinking of using wright again.

HELLO! pick a message and stick to it!

*The “spreading the wealth”, “redistribution of wealth” seems to be the most effective message thus far. *

McCain should be emailing every journalist/blogger about the many examples of Obama’s “redistribution of wealth”.

  • his past housing policy and failure
  • current housing policy
  • his tax policy
  • nationalized healthcare policy
  • any other examples

This lack of focus is really irritating. STICK to ONE message. Have these guy’s ran a campaign before???

Also, “joe the plumber” is good, but like many bloggers have said, its got to be reframed and refocused on Obama, not just on Joe. The whining about media treatment is justified, but wasting valuable message space.

Stick to the message: “joe’s wealth is going to be redistributed by Obama’s policies”, not “joe’s being treated unfairly, boo hoo”.

Joe the Plumber

You’re right. The scatter gun approach doesn’t work. They do have to stick to a single message. However,I disagree with you on Joe the Plumber. They are doing that very well. He is being used as a symbol of all “the little guys” or “the working man” and Obama is trying to rip this guy off, like he will rip you off, they are saying. They can’t be more explicit than that or the old racism charge will come out. Obama will call them racists because he will say they are hinting he is going to give the money to blacks. That’s why they are being so coy about it.

if the campaign has a scatter gun, it should always be framed to support this “redistribution of wealth” theme.

if they bring up wright, it should be framed as someone who radically wants to redistribute wealth/socialism and less of the “hating america” frame. ayers should be framed as a “radical socialist”.

its all about framing and reframing, something obama’s campaign does well.

eg, whenever obama mentions “8 years old” they should reframe as “40 years old working with a socialist”.

“joe the plumber” is being used well, but i think could be much better. the connection to mccain or obama is not being made succinctly. for instance mccain could say “i am a capitalist that will defend the joe’s, obama is a socialist that will penalize the joe’s”.

mccain should keep stressing he will defend capitalism from washington/obama socialist agenda. He did that once last week, but seems to have just done it once. its got to be reinforced more. “joe’s being hurt by washington”, “joe will suffer from obama’s policies”… forget victimization of joe stuff.. thats democrat territory and we don’t like being victims like them..

pathetic, compared to obama's epic housing failure

thats pathetic compared to obama’s epic socialist housing failure.

obama wasted millions of taxpayer dollars and enriched his supporters (Allison Davis, Valerie Jarett, Tony Rezko), all in the good name of helping low income families.

read this and tell me how you can support policies like this (don’t reframe it to bush/republicans would be worse)

I agree with most of what you say. However, don’t forget that anybody under 40 years of age doesn’t really know who the Weather Underground were. The media ignores them and Ayers,so that’s a problem. What McCain should do is mock Obama for dismissing the fact that the bombings occurred forty years ago. He should say, “The bombings in the black churches in Alabama also occurred forty years ago,Senator. Innocent little girls died. Are we supposed to forget these horrid acts just because time passes? Bill Ayers also killed innocent people. He also killed a policeman, sir. He bragged after 9/11 that he regretted not having set off more bombs. As our nation grieved,Bill Ayers laughed ! Mr. Obama says that the elite of Chicago associated with Mr. Ayers,so that makes his association with him acceptable. My friends, the elite of Chicago also associated with Al Capone!”

They should remind voters that Obama comes from Chicago and make the Windy City out to be another Berkeley, except it has three million people. That it is a radical city,a corrupt city. The city of Bill Ayers,Rev.Jeremiah Wright,Tony Rezko and Louis Farrakhan. “These are the spiritual fathers of Senator Obama, radicals,a terrorist,a con artist and racists. We don’t need Mr. Obama to bring the morality of Chicago to Middle America.” Say that and Obama has to go on the defensive. Unfortunately,McCain wants to be a gentleman,so he’ll never attack Obama the way he should. I don’t think he has mentioned Rezko once.

pathetic media

media is pathetic and they’re all trying to outscoop each other on mccain/palin/joe hitpieces.

interesting thing is that joe himself can drive news stories.

if joe mentions “im wondering about the socialist policy failure at Grove Parc”
media will have wake up and report on it.

if joe mentions “im wondering about the killerspin $300K in favors obama supported and who coincidently received 90% of his 2001 salary from”, the media will have to report it. (obama camp will joke its about ping pong, so mccain will have to pre-empt that with saying “political favors is no joke”)
