Are Liberal Journalists And Bloggers Trying To Have Sarah Palin Assassinated? In A Word, Yes.

By Their Own Standard, Liberals Are Deliberately Trying To Get Sarah Palin Killed

From the moment John McCain unveiled her as his choice of running mate in 2008, Sarah Palin has become a hate-figure to vast swathes – and all evidence points to – a significant majority, of the Left. Her very existence inarguably sends liberals, from the tonier and sophisticated precincts where New York Times journalists congregate to the scatological feverswamps of the DailyKos, into paroxysms of near-homicidal rage. They don’t just hate her, they hate her husband (who has been accused of impregnating his own daughter), her children, her parents and any and all of her associates and supporters.

Frankly, it is beyond question that the vast overwhelming majority of liberals wish the woman had never been born, and, to be even more candid, it is also inarguable that should there be an incident, whether accidental or deliberate, where the lady were to lose her life, there would be celebrating and glasses raised in toasts to whatever (or whoever) brought it about from the comments sections of the Huffington Post to the newsrooms of MSNBC.

Which brings us to the recent tragic incident in Tucson where an obviously crazed Jared Lee Loughner opened fire on a constituent event with Democratic Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, shooting her in the head and outright killing a Federal Judge and others, including a 9 year old girl.

Despite there being no evidence that this incident involved politics in any way as opposed to an obviously mentally disturbed individual, or that if it involved politics, that Jared Loughner was in any way affiliated with Right, and specifically that he was influenced in any way by the writings and speeches of Sarah Palin, liberal journalists and columnists in the nation’s most prestigious newspapers, celebrities and liberal bloggers did not wait for Giffords to finish being stabilized before pointing the finger of blame squarely at Sarah Palin and her “rhetoric”. This even while most of them are acknowledging that this may have nothing to do with politics and that there is no evidence that Jared Loughner had ever given Sarah Palin a second thought.

In fact, the evidence is that this was a personal attack based on what Loughner must obviously have considered a personal sleight. According to Loughner’s friend from high school, he had personally met with Congresswoman Giffords in 2007 (well before Sarah Palin was a household name) with questions reflecting his rather warped political views (seemingly influenced by both the Communist Manifesto and Mein Kampf) and had come away unhappy with the encounter. Considering that mentally disturbed individuals tend to become obsessed and focus on perceived sleights and grow them to monumental proportions, this is most likely what prompted what happened in Tucson.

But from Paul Krugman of the New York Times drawing a direct causal link between Sarah Palin’s innocuous graphic targeting vulnerable Democrats (including Giffords) to defeat at the polls and the shooting, to Michael Daly of the NY Daily News asserting in his article headline that “Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ blood Is On Sarah Palin’s Hands … to Markos Moulitsas’ obviously gleeful “Mission Accomplished, Sarah Palin” tweet, and Wolf Blitzer giving serious air time on CNN to the idea that the attack on Gabrielle Giffords was as a direct result of Sarah Palin’s rhetoric in opposition to the Obama agenda, there seems to be a concerted effort in the “mainstream” media to try and convict Sarah Palin of Jared Loughner’s actions.

Already, in the comments sections of the New York Times, New York Daily News and numerous other “mainstream” newsmedia outlets’ websites, liberal commenters are calling for Sarah Palin’s arrest and the seizure of her assets. Others are darkly hinting that she should be made to “suffer” the same fate as Rep. Giffords – for which they hold Palin responsible – with not much condemnation from other liberal commenters.

Which is what leads me to believe that this isn’t the typical liberal leap to reap a political benefit from others’ personal tragedy, but using the same logic as used by Markos Moulitsas, Paul Krugman, Michael Daly et al. an attempt to pre-justify an attack on the lives of Sarah Palin and members of her family. According to liberal journalists and bloggers, Sarah Palin – via her uniquely incendiary murder-inducing rhetoric – is personally responsible for Jared Loughner’s attack on Rep. Giffords.

Well then, what could be more incendiary than asserting that one is directly responsible for the death of a 9 year old girl, the death of a Federal Judge and the shooting of a Congresswoman in the head? By their own logic, this would certainly lead to an individual – convinced by Daly, Moulitsas et al that Sarah Palin has gotten away with murder – purchasing a gun, leveling it at Sarah Palin, perhaps when she’s at a book signing, or lounging at the pool with her husband and children, and opening fire.

I would certainly hope that this is not what Michael Daly, Markos Moulitsas, Paul Krugman, Jane Fonda, etc. are hoping for deep down. But given their own presumably sincere belief that “reckless” political speech leads to violence, and given the unseemly speed with which they have recklessly decided to heap responsibility on Sarah Palin with no facts to back them up and many to count against them, I am forced to conclude that they are, at best, neutral, and at worst, desirous of Sarah Palin being subjected to serious (even fatal) bodily harm.

How is it that these people can condemn Palin for “targeting” Gifford, and yet the very Politico headline on such an article is called “Liberals target Palin”? Just another example of the hypocrisy of the left. I hope to God nothing happens to Palin. It could get very very bad.

    • http://www.buckforcolorado.com bjwilson83

The headline now reads “Liberals blame Palin”. Guess they figured out what they had done.

  • swami7774

The DCCC got rid of it’s “recovery” site that had interactive bulls eyes that identified GOP congressmen as “targeted”. Fortunately there are still screen shots available.
Why isn’t the MSM mentioning this( he asked rhetorically)?

  • aesthete

on Palin are certainly some of the most disturbing and ridiculous I’ve seen in a while: it’s inconceivable that Palin literally wanted for Giffords to be assassinated, or that a sane person could reasonably be led to murder several people in cold blood based solely on a metaphor.

  • 6eorge Jetson

You can tell a statist is lying when his/her lips are moving. What a bunch of hypocrites.

  • http://westforwestwing2012.com heartlander

It is extremely disturbing at this time to remember where Barack Obama comes from.

Bill Ayers’ Weather Underground had as their goal the INCITEMENT of total, violent upheaval in the U.S. and blood flowing in the streets.

Van Jones, quoted elsewhere on this site, called for “bottom-up” violence in the streets, “top-down” government crackdown and “inside-out” overthrow of America.

Saul Alinsky, the founder and/or inspirer of all the “community organizing” efforts and groups that Barack Obama worked with in his career, formulated “rules for radicals” that included everything from never letting a crisis (such as the Tucson slayings) go to waste, to picking a target and utterly dehumanizing him or her (such as Sarah Palin).

Given all this, I see several things developing in the near future, none of them good — but all of them SOLID GOLD for the people who are bent on destroying the United States of America:

    1. Regardless of what happens — and certainly regardless of the injustice of it — Sarah Palin has probably been permanently destroyed as a political figure.

    2. The 112th Congress has been shut down for a week — the first full week, in fact, of that all-important “first 100 days,” and a week in which Republicans had been slated to introduce some hugely important bills, including the bill to repeal Obamacare.

    3. Calls for the further control, or even confiscation, of privately owned firearms will intensify by an order of magnitude.

    • mspector

that Sarah “has probably been permanently destroyed as a political figure”. She will stand strong as she always has, and my own guess is that the attacks on her will backfire as they are so obviously without foundation in fact or logic. In fact we should mount a full-court press on every liberal and MSM outlet to either come up with something tangible or retract and apologize. All this BS against Sarah and the Tea Party tells me is that the liberals are scared to death that she will remain a political force — perhaps even a candidate — and know no depths to which they will not sink to try to take her down. That tells me that she’s stronger even than we now know. God bless her.

      • http://www.buckforcolorado.com bjwilson83

The end result of all this will be only to expose the hypocrisy of the left. The guy had absolutely zero connection to the Tea Party, Sarah Palin, the right, or talk radio. In fact, Palin’s map didn’t even use gun terminology, it was medical terminology. The left is on record all over the place not only using violent rhetoric, but actually calling for and carrying out acts of violence. I’m going to love the media having to choke down apologizing to Sarah Palin.

        • http://westforwestwing2012.com heartlander

I would LOVE to be proven wrong!

        • powertothepeople

you do not hold your breath while waiting for an apology from the media to anyone on our side much less Palin. They have not done it in the past and are not about to start now.

And whether you like it or not, and most of us do not, this has and will hurt Sarah. It is obnoxious how the left tries to blame this on her and on our side, but it has worked pretty well when it comes to her. She will not lose her faithful, but this even further damages her with the independents and she must have a majority of their support to take the white house. She may work her way past this, hence why I will not say it is the killer blow to her political aspirations, but she has to get started and do so soon if she stands an ice cube in hell chance of winning anything more than the republican nomination.

Got to set aside the blinding adoration and see what the leftist BS is doing to our side and to her or we will remain blind. A lot of people do not buy into the nonsense the left spews so often, but enough do. You say you want to expose the hypocrisy of the left, how do you plan on doing that. They know they are wrong and they know they are pointing fingers the wrong way but they do not care. They use a tragedy as a focal point for their nonsense, they flood the media, blogs, and boards with their nonsense knowing they have a short window to brainwash people prior to the truth coming out, and then once the truth is made known, they slink back and look at the damage they caused. They know they are lying yet they do not care. There only goal is to fool a few fools, then wait for the next thing to happen. You can not expose what they are proud of.

          • http://www.buckforcolorado.com bjwilson83

And no one is better at fighting the media than Palin.

    • Section9

She was smart to issue her condolence post and then step back. Understand that a backlash is starting to develop against this kind of stuff. Palin was EXTREMELY shrewd to avoid getting in a mudfight with the Left at this juncture.

Why? The attention should be on those who were murdered and on the wounded Congresswoman and the others in hospital.

Why not allow the Left to show itself to the country for what it actually is?

No. She has done the right thing, and when she speaks publicly again about this, I can guarantee her tone will be compassionate and filled with Christian temperament.

      • Goldwater_Conservative

move here is to stay silent, other than the condolances she gave, and completely avoid this created story about her being repsonsible for it. If she starts answering the critics on this it will only embolden the critics, the best thing is for her to sit back and let the media continue to show their real face to the country.

  • Martin Knight

So much for Sarah Palin being at fault.

The more this goes on, the more I am convinced that the people pushing this meme are hoping some unhinged guy would decide to take matters into his own hands and attack Sarah Palin in the name of “justice”.

I wish Palin would have a spokesman come on national television and level this accusation at the media. Nothing would put a halt to it faster.

    • penguin2

on longer than we realize, the constant drumbeat of vitriol and venom directed towards Sarah Palin.

This tragic incident certainly gives them the opportunity to further their hidden “call.” I believe that in the dark recesses of their minds they are seeking such an outcome…that there will be someone who will see that Sarah was “guilty” and not “punished” and hoping someone will take the “law” into their own hands. To their warped minds, it would take care of the “problem” that Sarah Palin presents to them.

And why doesn’t our side ever fight back loud and clear and call the Left out on these words? As you suggested, a news conference would be a good place to start.

      • proudmarinemom

has instilled is profound. It’s as though we are reliving the last days of the Weimar Republic. The relentless attacks on conservativism from all sides is breathtaking.

Perhaps the most disturbing was the media exploitation (with her full consent)of the statement by one of the witnesses to the shooting, a woman who had seized the gunman’s second clip while others subdued him. She used the opportunity before the microphone to condemn the “tea party” (as she had defined it in her narrow, misinformed mind) for — well, I don’t know what for. She simply repeated what she had heard somewhere. This woman used her power as an unimpugnable participant in an infamous event, she used her near-hero status to promote her political cause at the expense of the victims, before they have recovered or received proper burials.

By using the media as a platform, she dirtied the waters and tainted the jury pool, thus ensuing that the real victims in this tragedy may never see justice. “How will Jared Loughner get a fair trial now?”, his defense attorneys will argue.

It seems that those of us who see through such hypocrisy and unfairness are losing the fight for justice. We are aboard a foundering ship in a maelstrom.

We need a Captain now, more than ever before.

        • renny

was there to congratulate Gifford for voting for the stimulus, so she is a lefty herself and not a good judge of what motivated Loughner.

          • proudmarinemom

ate it up, trumpeted it, shouted it from the rooftops.

She is, in my mind, the shining example of all that is wrong and unjust in America.

      • renny

on Drudge: “Flashback” to Halloween hanging of the former vp candidate, which stirred no left-wing hand wringing or condemnation, natch.

  • E Pluribus Unum

Yep, that’s about right. It is the way of us on the right to HOPE the best of people, even of detestable cads like Markos, Krugman, and Milbank.

    Well stated, Martin.

The leftist media is stirring up a hornet’s nest. By irresponsibly blaming Palin, Limbaugh, Beck et al, they are setting the stage for someone to “be a hero” and take them out.

Will they then assume responsibility for their toxic rhetoric if and when someone is targeted and injured or worse?

      … of the radical Left.
Alinsky and Cloward-Piven are all about causing utter chaos so that they can move in and get their own way.

And Obama bud Bill Ayers’ Weather Underground had as its whole modus operandi the creation of as much chaos as possible–their intermediate goal being an all-out race war in America with black versus white, and blood flowing in the streets.
      http://www.zombietime.com/prairie_fire/

It is very much worth noting that this was also the intermediate goal of the Charles Manson “Family.” [http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2074513/posts]
(the only difference being in the END goal, which for Manson was for himself to end up as the king over all; Weather Underground envisioned a cadre of communist revolutionaries being in charge, similar to Soviet Russia, with the power to confine in “re-education” camps those of us who don’t go along with the program–and for those who cannot be re-educated, “elimination.” WU people said that “up to 25 million” of us might need to be eliminated.

These are the people who are now running the executive branch of the U.S. government (with many allies in Congress, the judiciary, and of course, academia and the media).

    • Tbone

“Will they then assume responsibility for their toxic rhetoric if and when someone is targeted and injured or worse?”

  • boonerdan

Don’t forget it was liberal Democrat funded groups that actually used the map and target against Rep. Giffords long before Sarah Palin. I realize you get this little tidbit from the MSM.

The day that we restrict free political discourse in this country is the day the Republic breathes its final breaths.

Deep down, we all know they are…

“…given their own presumably sincere belief that ?reckless? political speech leads to violence…”
    ..otherwise known as “projection”.

Note that she admits Palin’s stuff didn’t lead to the shooting, yet STILL sees it fitting to attack Palin. Disturbing.

Quoting you: “I am forced to conclude that they are, at best, neutral”

At BEST, they will do anything to destroy any who oppose their leftist agenda, whether by lying, cheating or even selling their souls to the devil to pull it off. What else can it be?! You can’t tell me it is anything less than absolute evil on full display.

    Liberalism’s death knell keeps tolling

    http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/jan/12/liberalisms-death-knell-keeps-tolling/

As I say, liberalism is dead. This hitherto unthinkable effort to blame the unhinged act of a lunatic on the language of the right without respect to the often more inflammatory language of the left is a cry from the grave. Rigor mortis has set in, comrades, and even your president suffers. On the campaign trail in 2008, Barack Obama said, “If [Republicans] bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun.” I am eager to read what Mr. Krugman does with broccoli.
