Recently discovered Brian Ross report on Mitt Romney

What follows is the text of a July 9, 2012, ABC News report that should have been aired but wasn’t due to a power failure at network headquarters (I cannot believe this has only come to light now):

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: Special Investigative Reporter Brian Ross is checking in with us with what could very well be the defining political moment in 2012.

BRIAN ROSS: George, we have some shocking developments tonight in the race for the United States presidency. Presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney, or at least someone with the first initial M. and the last name Rooney, which we believe could be a misspelling of “Romney,” in 1987 was arrested in Boston for molesting 15 children while simultaneously shouting “I hate black people, Mexicans and Jews.” ABC News can confirm that Mitt Romney was living in Boston in 1987. Back to you, George.

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: That’s amazing, Brian. Have you reached out to Mitt Romney’s campaign for Gov. Romney’s response?

BRIAN ROSS: No, George. But we can report that the M. Rooney who we believe to possibly be the same Mitt Romney who is asking American voters to entrust him with the presidency also was charged with masterminding a complicated scam to steal Social Security checks from at least 50 senior citizens living in a Boston nursing home. All totaled, Mitt Romney stole at least $500,000 from elderly Bostonians who, as a result, could no longer afford to live in the nursing home and were cast out on the street where they froze to death that winter with empty stomachs and broken hearts. George.

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: Mitt Romney’s campaign certainly should have a response to this, Brian. Have you contacted them for comment?

BRIAN ROSS: I’m thinking about it, George. I have dinner plans with David Axelrod and can’t be late. But what I can report is M. Rooney, also known as Mitt Romney to me, you and ABC News viewers, apparently also hates homosexuals. He was arrested in 1984 on suspicion of deliberately setting fire to a gay bar in Michigan and burning to cinders 23 gay men who were simply looking to meet Mr. Right during Ronald Reagan’s reign of indifference to the plight of anyone who wasn’t white or straight. As you know, George, Mitt Romney is originally from Michigan.

GEORGE STEPHANOUPOLOS: He sure is, and I doubt anyone in Michigan will vote for him now. The polls were tightening there, too.

BRIAN ROSS: Yes they were, George. And do you know who else won’t be voting for Romney as a result of what I’m about to say? Anyone who is against a woman’s right to choose. ABC News has obtained copies of M. Rooney’s tax returns from 1990 through 2009 — the same tax returns Mitt Romney has refused to release – and his charitable donations include more than $750,000 to Planned Parenthood affiliates in Massachusetts, Michigan and Pennsylvania. We know of Mitt Romney living in both Massachusetts and Michigan, and it’s completely reasonable to suspect he at one point lived in Pennsylvania, too.

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: Well, it’s now safe to move Pennsylvania off the electoral map from “Undecided” to “Leaning Obama.”

BRIAN ROSS: Good — I mean, that’s right, George. Pennsylvania is a lost cause for Mitt Romney. If your average undecided Pennsylvania voter had a choice of giving a glass of lemonade to a dying-of-thirst Mitt Romney or a dying-of-thirst Jerry Sandusky, I’m sure Jerry Sandusky would be quenching his thirst a lot sooner than Romney before returning to his nefarious ways of preying on young boys.

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: Brian, whose nefarious ways of preying on young boys? Romney’s or Sandusky’s?

BRIAN ROSS: Both, George.

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: Based on your earlier reporting, I suspect that’s right. Good job, Brian. Keep us updated, and say hello to David Axelrod for me.

BRIAN ROSS: He’s right in front of me feeding pages into the Tele-prompter.

DAVID AXELROD (off camera): Hi, George!

(Just to clear something up: No, this never happened. Yes, it is satire. It’s my own absurd commentary on Brian Ross’ slipshod journalism, and the media’s, in general, when it comes to agenda-driven narratives. I think his erroneous reporting is grounds for him being canned.)

My condolences to the murdered and injured souls who wanted nothing more than to see a movie on July 20, 2012.

Or is it just you’re imagination talking.

Hard to believe without a link.

    • checkmate2012

It’s too unreal to be real.

It appears he has gone stupid.

I’m hoping the poster is full of it.
            Re-read what he posted.

I’m guessing an anti-Romney moby here.

          • checkmate2012

            of such nonsense.

          • Mike Ferguson

I realized it was satire about 5 lines into the post.

this am. I guess it is to make a point on how insane the Left is but don’t see any humor in it. I haven’t heard Beck since he departed Fox.

I keep hearing all this talk about a “tea party” – a lot of babble and noise – but lack of results is truly amazing. disorganized and truly leaderless – clinging to the establishment Republican Party that despises them – me thinks “THAT” is the “tea party”. Powerless because it is money less. Politicians buy and sell their constituents. it’s always who has the most money – and apparently the Tea Party has let Mitt Romney buy his way to the nomination – and perhaps even the Presidency. Well, this isn’t a vote for Romney – it’ll be a vote against Obama and his Chicago thuggery government and his lieutenant Eric Holder.

      • gekster

And if you havn’t seen the results of the Tea Party this year,
        you are not paying attention.
(I am paying attention, and you have mine)

Please tell me what you are doing to change things. If you’re involved, that’s great. If not, then bless your heart, go read my comments here and go find something to do besides complain.

    C’mon…knock something over.

At the least, he would provide links to what he said.
And wouldn’t say crap that couldn’t be proved.

Like I said, at the least he had class.
This guy is a twit until proven otherwise.
And ‘in the house’ is from UP.

Who is bankrolling Obama – Oh, I forgot, he’s not really a Democrat, he’s a Socialist Communist with a real bent towards Fascism. All those “poor” Hollywood actors and the banksters and Wall Streeters – the thieving Union masters – that is who bankrolls Obama.

Democrats are for the poor – yes – they’d like to make you all poor and dependent on the government for your subsistence. The new slavery, taxation without representation – cause those people that get voted to Congress – it’s just to a seat in their Party’s side of the aisle. They only want your money and your vote to keep them there while they reap the rewards of insider trading and living like royalty.

Yikes! My apologies to the folks who thought otherwise. Ross, Stephanopolous and ABC News sicken me. Just my attempt at illustrating absurdity by being absurd.

  • gekster

I took it hook, line, sinker, and half the boat, didn’t I.
And then I saw the energizer bunny go by.

(I wish you would of used a different story to show my error, though)

The poster had me going for the first few lines until I figured out it was satire. The sad part is…some of this has been done before.

Last night on David Webb..Webb stated that it took him all of 3 minutes to identify the “OTHER JAMES HOLMES of the TPM who ABC cited. The TPM Holmes is 52 years old and has had to unplug his phones because of threats. Isn’t that a shame. In fact, Webb’s guest was from the Colorado TPM…don’t know exact name and what Brian Ross insinuated WAS COMPLETELY FALSE.

However, this was not the first time. When Gabbie Giffords was shot…the same reporting went out. Do you remember? The MSM mused that perhaps it could be a TPM. In fact…I remember Obama opining on TV that this divisiveness HAD TO STOP. I wonder if he figured out HE AND HIS COHORTS started it.

Now…to the EVEN more serious implications…if there could be any after this horrific death plot. There is a political slant be offered up by the Dems…Gun Control…and if that does not get it…Gun Control under the UN Treaty that Hildabeast agreed with.

I ask you this….if someone had a right to carry in that theater perhaps the guy would have died sooner and we wouldn’t have so many dead. Folks…like Rhom Immanual (sp) said…never waste a good crisis. That my friends is the face of the Democratic Party….they are the real “Joker” in this terrible incident.

Lately we’ve had so many, uh, let’s just say posters who don’t have good intent, just to keep me from being banned, that it wouldn’t surprise me if someone put this out just to smear Romney.

It wouldn’t be the first time, and it won’t be the last.
    (a sarc tag would’ve helped)

    Again, I’m sorry for misreading.

  • Matt Manochio

I appreciate you reading it. I try to lighten things up during tough times.

It hints at ‘an alternative news show’ A B C could consider.

“Brian and Steffie’s Bizarro News Half-Hour”

“Where everything That’s False, happens right here…”

Disney does own them. Use some CGI characters for them to dialog with.
Model them on DNC’s present and past board members.

Matt could ‘consult’ with the scriptwriters, and in fact would hafta’, as Progressives do not have any real ideas.

    Go pitch it, Matt.
Use levity as a : ‘real need for America’ !!
