MEMBER DIARY

This may ratchet things up a bit…

Maybe the Bishops are finding their “sea legs”. From the DNC TalkingPointsMemo

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Roman Catholic Bishop Thomas Tobin has banned Rep. Patrick Kennedy from receiving Communion, the central sacrament of the church, in Rhode Island because of the congressman’s support for abortion rights, Kennedy said in a newspaper interview published Sunday.

The decision by the outspoken prelate, reported on The Providence Journal’s Web site, significantly escalates a bitter dispute between Tobin, an ultra orthodox bishop, and Kennedy, a son of the nation’s most famous Roman Catholic family.

”The bishop instructed me not to take Communion and said that he has instructed the diocesan priests not to give me Communion,” Kennedy told the paper in an interview conducted Friday.

If true, thank you Bishop Tobin.

Kennedy and Bishop Tobin got into a public spat a while back and were supposed to meet. The meeting fell apart. As a result the Bishop issued a public letter to Kennedy in the diocesan newspaper…

”Sorry, you can’t chalk it up to an ‘imperfect humanity.’ Your position is unacceptable to the Church and scandalous to many of our members. It absolutely diminishes your Communion with the Church,” Tobin wrote.

What a disgusting, rag-tag, in-bred lot the Kennedys are. I am still angry as hell that Teddy is buried at Arlington National Cemetery. If there ever was a man who deserved to dumped in a land fill it was Teddy and his remains lay with heros, the least of whom is 10,000 times the man he never was. Looks like his son is the image of himself.

of the Church. For too long, Kennedy and other politicians think they are above the Church just because they have political power. As far as I am concerned, the politicians can believe whatever they want to, but if they choose the Catholic Church for worship, then they have to accept one of the basic foundations of Church Doctrine. Kennedy, Pelosi, and Kerry and others have been getting away with this for years.

Of course, they are free to worship elsewhere….
