I doubt Joanie Caucus wants to take credit for it now

But was that one lousy speech Elizabeth Warren gave last night or what?

For those of  you who have NO idea what I’m prattling on about, Gary Trudeau has a running plot in Doonesbury that Joanie Caucus was helping to write Elizabeth Warren’s speech. Cause it was gonna be “historic.” Trudeau realizes that convention speeches are the launching pad for careers in the democratic party. So, apparently the liberals were counting on Faxucohantas to enrapture us troglodytes with her beautiful defense of liberalism in all its glory.

Unfortunately for them (and fortunately for the rest of us) the speech was a big dud. Can’t imagine it played well in flyover country. Liberals just can’t wrap their heads around the fact that we understand that no man in an island but that we believe in helping one another as an individual responsibility and not as a job for the government. The final insult to me was when she had the nerve to “quote scripture.” And like most liberals, managed to get the point wrong. Yeah Liz, Jesus wants us to do things for the poor. And the command to care for the “least of these” is for us as Christians to sacrifice of ourselves and care for the poor as a sign of our love and obedience to Him. That doesn’t mean it’s a job for the government. And forcing my neighbors to be charitable does not make me righteous.
