Red State III and what to do with the problems

have been using Red State III since the inception of the Beta program and have had no real problems with it except for the last week or so when it seemed as though the whole world “stumbled” upon my favorite read.
So how do we fix it? First thing I know it seems like a government program but no bull they need money to grow and survive, just a suggestion to all the professional people out there that read this blog
cough up a little
Hey I don’t make a lot of money any more I am retired with minimal income but I have been trying my best to provide a donation as often as possible to what I have found to be the best blog period.
No matter how much or little any of us make we can all give a little to keep on getting the best information available anywhere.
If all the regulars and semiregulars would give a latte’s worth of money every week (for us working guy’s a coffee and donut) I think we could help RedState to grow and become what so many people are looking for .
If you don’t want to give anything “fine” but remember you thereafter you don’t have a dog in this hunt.
Also please remember few if any of the moderators and editors receive any kind of payment from Red State, most of these good folks are working to get a good product out to you because they believe in the fight.

I suppose folks would loosen up the purse strings if they understood the situation and then understood how much is required and what the dollars will do to improve what specific things.

Exactly what I said this afternoon when someone else suggested donations. (Not that anyone at RS owes me this, but…) several times I have suggested that someone post an action plan that would describe what kind of enhancements (and fixes?) are forthcoming, but I’ve seen no such thing.

A nebulous, nonspecific plea for funds will likely not see results. A specific request for donations accompanied by specific plans for using them will probably get good results.

Fully Agreed. But I have not seen any contributors, nor directors, solicit donations since RS 3.0 launch. Just normal RS community folk.

But I expect that they (RS leadership) are looking into the situation and developing a plan. And then if and when funds are needed, I expect they will then spread the word.

But, I have yet to see any evidence that there is no foul play involved. That doesn’t mean there is- but it remains a possibility.

On a related note, the site has been performing a little bit better this Sunday evening.

but the site has become all but useless. If I still smoked, it would be ok to click on a post, go out to the garage, have a smoke, and come back in and see if the page had loaded or if I got a 500. Ain’t worth it! For over two years I’ve kept it in the background, pulled it up when I felt like it, and posted something when I felt like it; can’t do that anymore. There is no way to have a “conversation” on the site anymore. Sure, I can write a diary on word and paste it in sometimes four or five times before it actually posts and then it posts three or four times so I look like an idiot who keeps hitting the post button.

You know, I didn’t put in much towards it, but if they’d asked for more, I’d have probably put in more. But, frankly what I help buy simply sucks. Now, probably nobody will read this because I’ll get a 500 and it will be lost in the ether.

We are fighters! Fight for the cause! Someday, it will be RS100!

This could be 3.0 traffic problems, or nefarious activity.

I would be happy to contribute to network security enhancements as well as expert analysis of the problem. This has gotten tiresome.

It’s relatively simple to do a traffic analysis and see if you can identify any culprits, isn’t it?

Bad scripts, site host a bust?
