Via Protein Wisdom, we see this:
CHICAGO (AP) - Democrat Barack Obama said Tuesday that the New Yorker magazine’s satirical cover depicting him and his wife as flag-burning, fist-bumping radicals doesn’t bother him but that it was an insult to Muslim Americans.
“You know, there are wonderful Muslim Americans all across the country who are doing wonderful things,” the presidential candidate told CNN’s Larry King. “And for this to be used as sort of an insult, or to raise suspicions about me, I think is unfortunate. And it’s not what America’s all about.”
Obama blamed himself for not being forceful enough in challenging some of the rumors about him, including that he is Muslim. Obama is Christian.
Obama later goes on to say that “he’s developed ‘a pretty thick skin’ running for president.” Given the way that the fellow seems to run away, at full speed and genteelly screaming, from even the hint of a suggestion of a possibility of a whisper that he might be secretly a Muslim… well. I suppose that he thinks that he has, and that’s the important thing, right? At least now he’s saying nice things about Muslims, while he’s of course also making it crystal clear that he isn’t one at all, no how, no way.
Progress, right?

Xasteius Tuesday, July 15th at 11:54PM EDT (link)‘Thick skin’?! This guy can’t take any criticism or satire without denouncing them as racist? The left has mocked Condi Rice’s race and has compared GW Bush to a chimp. I thought the magazine cover was rather mild.
Don’t leave the party, hijack it back!
