The “Did he REALLY say that?” Sunday Memorial Open Thread.

I mean, *I* agree, but I'm, like, a neocon and stuff.

So it’s weird to read something like this:

But Whispers confirms that Blackwater did handle the Democratic presidential candidate’s security in Afghanistan and helped out in Iraq. What’s more, Obama was overheard saying: “Blackwater is getting a bad rap.”

Sooo… are you going to disavow this quote, Senator? – given your previous comments on the firm, as per Protein Wisdom (H/T, btw), I think that it’s a pretty fair question. And if you aren’t, do you think that you could, you know, stick this flip-flop change of heart on your website, or something?

Why, yes, I am quite the comedian. Or at least I try.

Open thread.

I finally managed to break the top ten, but I had to plagiarize Ronaldus Magnus to do it.

Normally I pass, but they had a piece on NASA and the Mars program, which was really pretty good. It was especially fun watching Barney Frank look like a moron for opposing the program. Yeah, Congressman, since most Americans would rather concentrate on protecting the “scenic” Taunton river than go to MARS.

But the segment that just set my teeth on edge was the interview with Bruce Springsteen. I can’t tell you how depressing it is to watch the man in full moonbat mode, babbling about “how many people must die for a mistake?”

And I just loved “Born to Run” when I was in college. I can’t help look at him, wonder “what happened to make you insane?”, and be very sad.

Just to give those who are blessed enough to not have to live with the oppressive tax situation, the crime, immigration problem and liberal philosophy that pervades the state I offer this tidbit which should enlighten you as to the state of the educational system in California.

In a state where nearly 25% drop out of high school, where students in southern california have a hard time naming a minimum of three ex presidents not named Clinton or Bush comes this via the State Congress.

It seems that their idea of creating a better educational system, one that actually teaches instead of babysits, is to mandate that Climate Change be taught in the school system.

    http://www.mercurynews.com/politics/ci10010291?nclickcheck=1

The measure, which according to the article passed the Senate 26-13 and was sponsored by state Sen. Joe Simitian, D-Palo Alto, also would have required future science textbooks to include climate change as a subject.

So instead of making the ciriculum more demanding in order to increase anemic test scores, or finding a way to make children and their parents responsible for their actions and inaction in school, they instead thought it was better to require the states schools to teach something that has yet to be proven fact.

fortunately our Not really a Republican Republican vetoed the bill, not for the reasons we would have prefered (we being conservatives) but at least he did veto it.

It boggles the mind, but it is also a crystal ball into a prospective Obama adminstration. You can be assured that the Dept of Education will become more involved in cirriculums around the United States and liberal mantra and philosophies will become mandates federally.

Its scary folks and all the more reason to work to ensure that McCain will win the election in the Fall, as well as working for your local candidates.

Who, Stones, Zepplin. Not a huge fan of the rest (including the Beatles).

And yeah, Springsteen is over rated, but I did like the song. But my God that guy is off the reservation.

Procol Harum, now there was a good band.
