And, like Constant Reader NightTwister, do you think that “Entertainment this good should cost money”?

Well, guess what: it does – because one major reason that Doctor No can do this sort of thing is because he can win cloture votes. And the reason why he can win cloture votes is because he has enough GOP Senators ready to back his play. If the Democrats get 60 Senators, they can thumb their nose freely at Senator Coburn – and they really, really want to be able to do that.

Don’t let them.

    That ingredient that has been missing from the Republican stew for the last 7 years….a back bone? 40 NO votes, but were all Republicans voting this way or were there a few “It’s just a little Pork” weak sisters?

    Finally, something that I would think R’s of all stripes can agree on, fiscal responsibility, well maybe not all.

    I donated to NRSC due to this diary. Of course, also discovering that the mortgage bailout bill includes money to get even more first-time homebuyers into more debt, contributed to my disgust with Congress as well.
