Obama’s response was funny?

I dunno, Allahpundit. I mean, the Celebrity ad was pretty good. Not the best thing EVER, but pretty good:

…but this response was… well, to be honest, it kind of droned. I guess that I was expecting something a little more punchy, a little less press release-like, and a whole lot less whiny.

I know this is going to sound heretical and everything, but the Obama campaign doesn’t actually seem to be all that good at making campaign ads. It’s like George Lucas and Star Wars: all of the really cool stuff these days is fan-generated.

PS: Credit where credit is due, however: full points to Obama spokesman Bill Burton responding with “What does this mean?” when faced with some (presumably) pro-Obama lyrics by rapper Jay-Z. Of course, he was probably just as happy to change the subject after Ludacris…

Seems maybe having a guy who is willing to knife his own as our candidate may have some value–his experience using a knife sure shows.

This McCain guy, maybe he does want to win?

The “Pump” ad has hit Obama hard as reports are that he is forced to run counter ads in every state it ran. This one’s another solid blow. (And we can thank Hillary for showing just how easy it is to land haymakers over the leadership issue.)

I think I’m gonna donate a little more money to McCain–stuff like this deserves a reward.

I do not know why I did not see this before–slow I guess. But Obama’s biggest problem(aside from his ego)is that he has absolutely NO sense of humor.

  • jthomson

I think at this point that I don’t need humor from our candidates. I want someone who has a clear understanding of what is going on in the world. I think Obama is smart enough to hire the right people to start the ENORMOUS task of getting this country back on the right track. And believe me it will take many years. Thanks W!!
Your guy, on the other hand, can’t keep his ideas straight two days in a row. He’s LOST in some netherworld between fact and fiction.

As usual Repubs screw it up and Dems have to come in and fix it…. again!

Obama’s response (and a rapid one at that) hit all the right notes and drew the correct contrasts. With McCain we get more failed Republican leadership, more corrupt Republican backroom deals, more Republican immorality (i.e. Larry Craig and Ted Stevens), and more Republican incompetence in governing. They do not deserve a reward by being elected to office as they have failed and let down the hard working American people and brought dishonor to our nation. Obama is gonna rip McCain a new one in his colostomy bag and the trolls who work for him. The gloves are off and your gonna lose ‘big time.’

  • kyle8

funny how you speak about “trolls” more of that lefty projection I see.

  • kyle8

    talking about trolls….

Two days was about two too long for this dolt.

  • wsjreader

When MSM and Obamabots are squirming, whining how negative McCain is towards their annointed ONE, McCain must be doing something right. LOL. I say this as a former Clinton supporter.

    Nobama, No deal!

The one-hour wonders are out in force.

He must autofinance his celebrity bluff
Berlin,Paris,Jerusalem,Iraq,Afghanistan all above the current situation, following his personal charisma and without any technical competence?!

  • blooch

but Obama hasn’t created his Civilian National Security Force yet. Your work has been noticed, and your name’s on the short list. Strive on, comrade.

  • Praetorian

The number of doily sniffing Republican cowards on this board is amazing! Hopefully their false consciousness doesn’t get the best of them . . .

  • Moe_Lane

Apparently, it took him a day to come up with something that would met minimum standards for trolling.

  • Moe_Lane

Man, but do you guys twitch so when you get stung.

The show must go on,with Obama inflated and hyped by the media bias.

I’m starting to sound like a broken record, but it is true. The Messiah’s making many many rookie mistakes. He has never been tested in a real campaign, and doesn’t have enough professional staff in positions to make proper decisions to make up the difference. He is running a bad campaign, and as I have said at this point in time has only a 33% chance of winning.

He has only 4 things going for him:

    1) He is black
    2) He has an organization that can win caucuses
    3) He can read from a teleprompter well
    4) He can shakedown money from the nutroots

1 through 3 are pretty good for getting you the Democrat nomination, but they don’t help you win the general. And #4 was squandered by opting to put himself in a $90M hole by opting out of public financing.

His strategy was to win the primary on the backs of causus votes that favor activists. After that, he’s got nothing, other than every day giving us even more to make fun of. And I thought that no one could top John Kerry in that department.

Right now McCain’s campaign is starting to hit the right notes, and it is having an effect. He blunted the Obama world tour, and his follow up ads are hitting Obama where it hurts (as evidenced by the whining moonbats that are all over this thread). Even the media is starting to abandon him (although I was arguing in June that the WaPo wasn’t on the Obamabus).

If Obama wants to win this, he is going to need a campaign shakeup. Playing a prevent defense when you are at 45% in polls is a recipe for disaster. Best thing he could do is fire about 2/3rds of his staff and get down to a core with a single consistent message. Every time there is a screwup, we get 5 different conflicitng excuses.

He is also going to really regret cutting Hillary off at the knees. The best Democrat campaign strategists out there are loyal to the Clintons.

But ultimately, he is probably a fatally flawed candidate. He just doesn’t connect with the average Joe voter, and McCain does.
