FRONT PAGE CONTRIBUTOR

Well, Speaker Pelosi proved yesterday that telepathy DOES NOT WORK.

If they did, the combined psychic shout of "Shut UP, Nancy!" from ten million Democratic Party minds would have exploded her cranium.

As it stands, as far as I can tell they couldn’t even manage to pop one of her blood vessels. For that matter, if telepathy worked George Stephanopoulos probably would have succumbed to his barely-hidden urge to leap across the table and strangle the Speaker with his own tie before she completely wrecked the Democrats’ chances to win 30 seats this election*.

Get the transcript (via Hot Air) before you watch the video below: you’ll need it in order to follow along and happily confirm that, yes, she really is saying all of this. Said video is long (just under 9 minutes), but the concentrated stupid makes it a joy to behold:

Actually, looking at it again: I think that I saw George’s fingers twitch once. Maybe the Democrats should try again, but only this time they go ahead and use an external focus? I understand that crystals are popular among that sort.

PS: Gas was two bucks a gallon when the GOP controlled Congress. Just saying, that’s all.

*The Democrats are not going to win 30 seats this election. Particularly if the NRCC has the resources it needs to challenge some of those interlopers in our seats. Hint, hint.

I’d suggest that’s an awful generous assumption . . . few thousand, maybe.

  • Moe_Lane

I think that it’s reasonable to assume at this point that roughly 7% of the Democratic Party screams whenever she shows up on the screen.

  • jonreagan

Many centrists like myself left the Democratic Party because of people like Pelosi…essentially, we just gave up. When ideology trumps commons sense, there is no hope.

Pelosi will do anything she can to stop Free Trade Agreements, taking orders from organized labor. She opposes drill/drill/drill, as she will not do anything to upset the greenies.

In the process, she is looking unreasonable, and obstructionist, and that will be her downfall. As she looks more and more imperial, people will begin to dislike her more than they already do, and that’s saying something.

  • BigGator5

I thought “concentrated stupid” would be fun to watch, but I was proven wrong.

  • scotteiland

But ran out of patience with her stammering around the seven minute mark. Not only is this woman an unapologetic no-growth environut. And a socialist. And an obstructionist.

My favorite part was the look of disbelief on Stephanopolous’s face, as if to say “I can’t believe she’s Speaker either.”

THIS is the leader of a leading American political party? I wouldn’t trust her to lead a kindergarten class.

    What an idiot.

I am profoundly amazed that San Fran Nan found the time to appear on Stephie’s show to defend her moronic, indefensible position on drilling and show the entire nation what a buffoon she is, interrupting her five week paid vacation to do so.

    …but couldn’t allow an “up-down” vote.

Some things just make you go “Hmmmmm…”

  • bk

It’s so clear that they are trying to have everything both ways (as usual) that everyone is starting to notice. These Dem talking points are getting real old while they block all voting. the American people may get lost among all the talking points, but they do understand Congress taking a month off without allowing any voting.

…”the war dance of the handmaidens of the oil companies”?

    Sheesh…

  • jwebb

…was how she virtually stamped her little foot demanding that the oil in the SPR be released to help lower prices (which would last how many days? 5?) but that drilling is such a short-term solution.

Sheesh. What a complete moron. America needs to see much, much more of her!

  • bk

They demand releasing the SPR, but say more drilling isn’t a long-term solution. And they blame “speculators” for driving up prices, but claim that announcing more drilling will have zero impact, and lastly they claim it will take too long to wait for drilling so instead we need to wait even longer for alternatives.

Luckily most people aren’t stupid enough to be falling for this claptrap.

**Finally, she goes on national TV and shows her anti-americanism to the entire nation. What did she say? Oh yes, “we have a planet to protect”.

No Madame Speaker, we have a country to protect. And our oil/energy needs come first and foremost. And, from the professionals I’ve spoken with on Wall Street, if we announced the opening of ANWR, Offshore, and Shale Oil, within 72 hours the speculative price of oil would drop 65% on the market for futures contracts.

Therefore we need to continue to press, along with Newt Gingrich, “Drill Here. Drill Now. Pay Less”.

  • Right_Again

for anyone considering voting for a Democratic Congressional candidate in November.

How did this woman rise to a position two heartbeats away from the Presidency? It is astonishing that the MSM still attach the ‘stupid’ label to so many Republican politicians. Nancy, currently the most powerful Democrat, could be the poster-girl.

    1. She admits her policy’s goal is to force people to use oil less. The way you make people use oil less is to keep prices up. That’s her goal.

    2. She admits this is an ego issue. “I won’t give the gavel.” She’s putting her pride over the country’s needs.

  • EvanDrago

You think that Nancy controls the economy and that Congress controls the world-wide price of oil.

Now that’s hilarious. Paranoid and grasping at straws, but still hilarious.

  • NightTwister

This must really be bothering you.

  • EvanDrago

What bothers me is the shallow thinking that allows xenophobic and unbalanced reasoning to take hold. What bothers me is the trance that causes conservatives to avoid seeing the factors over the past 7 years that have increased the size of government, increased entitlement obligations, increased the deficit, increased the need for future reconciliation (more taxes), increased the dependence on foreign oil, decreased our standing in the world economy, decreased our ability to project the value of democracy, and decreased our moral authority.

Instead, conservatives grasp onto the latest story from FoxNews that tells them to be afraid. Fear is the greatest motivator. You need to ask yourself, “Who is doing the motivating and why am I afraid?”

Bothered? Yeah. Bothered that others are not.

  • janis

blessing to us all. Save your worry, EvanDrago, we got it covered.

…and then we can all have names reflective of the old Soviet Union…even if only to be beat down by Rocky wearing American Flag boxer shorts.

He has come to save us from our delusions of competency. Why should he be required to appear competent himself?

  • absentee

Yes, you’re certainly above such petty emotions as fear, and even more so above playing on fear. Except …

Xenophobic? Dear, china, how much is your tea? You’re using the lefties second favorite fear factor: agree or you’ll be branded a racist.

The first favorite fear factor for the left is, of course, global warming.

WE’RE ALL GONNA DIIIIEEEEEE!!!!!!!! Unless you do what Gore says.

Nothing, by the way, is more adorable than lefty bloggers absolute obsession with Fox news. Your absurd conspiracy theorizing is matched in ridiculousness only by your inept, clownish delivery.

  • EvanDrago

Again, the challenge is to think deeper.

Pelosi, Obama, and others in Congress causing the world oil prices to hit the ceiling?

…without considering the Cheney led ‘National Energy Policy’ that was crafted with Oil company execs in the spring of 2001…

…or Iran threatening to close the Straits of Hormuz and blocking 40% of the world’s oil output…

…or speaking to the governmental subsidies in emerging markets that maintain consumer oil consumption even as prices rise…

…or factoring in the increased cost of exploration, drilling, materials, and skilled labor in the oil industry…

…or the growth of oil and gas consumers in the developing world…

Now with considering all of these other aspects, of which there are many more, how should we move forward with a lasting solution?

  • janis

request to use “Reply to this”. Given that you can’t even participate in a threaded discussion, why on earth should ANY of us comply with your admonitions to “Think deeper…”

Here’s a suggestion for you–people have gotten themselves tossed for consistently ignoring the request to use “Reply….”. How’s about getting over yourself and do as you’re asked, hmmmm?

  • Moe_Lane

    Stop flunking it.

  • EvanDrago

My apologies for the “reply to this” oversight.

  • BooBooKitty

that is replying without a sense of situational awareness and regardless of the harm it does to her party and country.
