FRONT PAGE CONTRIBUTOR

And the Obama campaign comes through for me again!

Bless their petulant, easily-wounded little hearts.

I was just thinking about whether we could legitimately put this video:

…back on the front page. It’d would have been a little difficult to justify: there’s a half-life to any good ad, and this one is getting to be weeks old by now. Still a little juice left, but would it have really been worth it?

Apparently, the Obama campaign thought so, because they decided to finally reply to it – and not in the way that Allahpundit suggested, which would have been the smart way. Nope, it was bellowing like a stuck calf all the way:

You know, for a campaign that’s so supposedly about hope and change, these guys seem to be pretty awfully reactionary.

New song suggestion after the fold for Obama’s people.

Moe Lane

PS: Senator Obama, I understand that these days your natsec guys are drawing from A. A. Milne for their foreign policy positions. In light of that, have you considered getting one of your pet songwriters to work the ANXIOUS POOH SONG? It’s the last few lines that I think really hammer home the message:

3 Cheers for Bear!
(For where?)
For Bear—
3 Cheers for the wonderful Winnie-the-Pooh!
(Just tell me, Somebody—WHAT DID HE DO?)

Well, hammer home a message, at least.

And that song is way too peppy for an attack ad. Of course, it has sort of an old-timey swing quality to it, so maybe they’re trying to sublimely convay he’s an ollllld Washington celebrity?

I enjoy the “I know you are but what am I” quality of this ‘response’ from Barry being accused of being a celebrity. It’s not going to backfire so much as be utterly ineffective.

Any reporting on Obama’s July fundraising yet? Because I doubt this ad will get people jumping to donate to keep Obama “fighting back” and improve his August numbers.

Did he really just make fun of McCain for “that old Washington dance”?

    Hahahahahaha

Obama making fun of someone else changing positions….that’s rich!

Now excuse me while I go stretch out the cramp that I got from laughing so hard.

I don’t see people buying McCain as more of a celebrity than Obama, just like they won’t buy the lie that McCain is getting a gazillion dollars from big oil and big business lobbyists, while Obama is getting orders of magnitude more dough from little people’s bake sales and kids’ lemonade stands. Riiiiight.

The only thing Obama left out while doing nothing except talk about McCain because he has no real plan to offer is to claim that McCain does nothing except talk about Obama because he has no real plan to offer.

That’s the lingering sense one gets out of Team Obama dispatches.
They are just not having any fun and it shows–they can’t even pretend to be enjoying the campaign battle.

The Dharma and Greg Presidential campaign–hipster, metrosexual and chock full of canned laughter.

….not once did it state what Obama is for. Didn’t the Obama team, just last week, say that John McCain needs to tell us what he is for not what he is against. By noticing this I am probably racist…oh well…we all got our labels and Obama’s is incompetent…so I can settle for racist.

but it comes off more like the Star Wars Bar band. I see Letterman and Leno, but no Oprah. Hmmm…wonder why not?

The rebuttal to the Obama rebuttal of the McCain celebrity ad –

Voice over: Obama appears out of nowhere to the national stage blah blah blah — but no one comes from nowhere — not even Obama — Just where has Obama been these last “20 years”?

Chicago history of corruption — multiple quotes of corruption out of Chicago…. same old
chicago dirty politics now pushes their candidate onto national stage

    Rezko connection…

–I’ve only managed to read the first 4 chapters of The Case Against Barak Obama before I became physically ill that he is the DNC nominee.

Yet again, we are considered “racist” if we don’t bow down and vote for Obama. He’s been calling himself African American a lot, I’ve noticed lately. Actually, I don’t recall ever hearing him say that he’s bi-racial. What’s up with that? Okay, count me in as a racist again since I won’t be voting for him. I’m a Conservative. I can take it.

  • KellyB4GOP

Interesting that NOT voting for the “Annointed One” makes the Liberals call us racist. Well I am one person who would rather be called “racist” instead of “stupid” for voting for someone who has no clue how to lead. I’m a Conservative and I’ve been called worse by the little glazed eye Obamatons.

By making the same attack he made against you? Sorry, it doesn’t work. It’s the “I know you are, but what am I?” come-back defense. No zinger, just “Uh… your old man!”

    “I’m rubber and you’re glue…”

I swear, everytime the Obama camp responds to a McCain ad they hurt Obama more than if they ignored the ad.

That’s hilarious. It’s like getting 2 for the price of 1 for the McCain camp. Ya gotta love it…

  • blooch

The whole thing looks like it was hastily slapped together. They couldn’t find different video for his “lurch to the left”? Must’ve liked his facial expression too much to use it just once. And speaking of “lurch”, they’re either still smarting from their failed atempt to “swiftboat” McCain, or they are oblivious to the other meaning of “lurch”.

  • KellyB4GOP

I do love it! The real beauty of this is that it’s only August, folks. Many more ads from Obama to come considering the cash he’ll have to spend.

  • CincoSolas_del_Bronx

Some genius–who clearly missed the class on Association–could end up under the bus for that timely segment!

  • Joe_Schmo

    … and speeches!

Also, if we are real lucky, all 75,000 Obama fans that will fill Invesco Field later this month will all hold up the big zero sign. Maybe they can gently sway back and forth…

The http://www.BOP-O-RAMA.com site was really Bopping this weekend. While Obama briefly topped McCain for total Bops this Saturday, Obama web Boppers piled on to push McCain’s total count over 100,000.

With new celebrity ads being released like the ones above, both candidates are taking their gloves of and heading for the trenches.

Advice for the campaigns, mobilize your Web Boppers now in prep for the conventions.

I have question over the ad. When Obama shows McCain on SNL and The View didn’t the Obama campaign have to ask both SNL and The View (ABC) for permission to use their images?

McCain used photos of Obama on mags I don’t believe he needs permission for that but I believe Obama had to get permission from both to use the stuff on McCain in their ads.
