Maybe he should stay in Hawaii until November?

Just to be on the safe side, and everything.

It’s probably just statistical noise, but I can’t help but notice that Obama’s Rasmussen and Gallup tracking numbers both went up a couple of points once he started his vacation.

Makes you wonder whether this Pew Resarch Center poll was on to something.

PS: Well, the bump certainly isn’t over his position on the Georgian situation, now is it? Unless you think that the American people prefer the fellow that they judge less likely to handle it, which is a bit counter-intuitive.

I think it was Ambinder. Obama is getting a bump because politics is not the top story. The less people talk about Obama the better his poll numbers seem to be.

I expected as much to happen. The more the general public sees The One the less they like him. Obama has ducked from McCain on the town hall deals and generally avoided the press adulation because his campaign has picked up on the same thing as Pew. It will be fun to watch how much Obama’s handlers can transform him into the Incredible Disappearing Michelle.

    This new one is.

All I can say is that the internals of this poll are terrible news for Obama.

He keeps this up, and McCain may actually have the lead going into the Dem Convention.

P.S. I expect Obama’s Hawaii “bump” is about to dissipate in light of the Georgian invasion.

To paraphrase Don Henley: Events are conspiring against ol’ Barry Obama. Poor, poor Barry…
