How do you know that the Burning Down the House video was effective?

Because Time-Warner had it yanked, that's why.

Copyright violations, you understand. 1.2 million views first, though. And, thanks to Protein Wisdom here’s the backup version, complete with some introductory comments about how much money Time-Warner’s people have thrown at Obama, anyway.

Man, that video is a jackhammer

Dan McLaughlin (Diary) Tuesday, September 30th at 6:08PM EST (link)

Even I didn’t know some of the stuff in there.

I noticed that Sununu and Dole were the co-sponsors of the reform bill with McCain. I hope they are using that in their Senate races.

That's a wonderful video

That video makes the case so plainly that anyone who hasn’t studied this issue should be able to follow it directly from A to B to C.

I like the TMR hit in there too. Good plug for some Red Staters :-)

This video is powerful...

liberalrepublican (Diary) Tuesday, September 30th at 6:19PM EST (link)

This is a million times more powerful than attacking Obama based on what church he went to.

This reminds me of how Reagan went after Democrats – not calling them evil or unpatriotic, just wrong.

I don’t know how anyone could watch that and still believe in Government programs.

I had this posted the other day in a diary and the video link was pulled to the original one.

I could not find the new one, which I hope goes viral!

…all McCain needs to do is send one copy to every home in America… election would be his. This issue is what people care about and people are fed up with Government cuddling with Wall Street. I can’t wait to see what Republicans do with in two years.

I have been sharing this with everyone I know.

And now for a video that is pathetic...

liberalrepublican (Diary) Tuesday, September 30th at 6:39PM EST (link)

that video is pathetic. Comparing our fathers and mothers and cousins and brothers and co-workers and friends and soldiers and sailors and employees and teachers who are Democrats to Hitler.

To like this video, you have to hate American.

and you should remember that he might have had this election locked up months ago if not for the Rev. Wright stuff erupting in the primary. That caused him permanent damage, as well it should have, and set off a chain of further events that also damaged him.

I’m frantically emailing/IMing it to every single person I know. I just hope they get it before the powers that be at youtube take it down again. This is a powerhouse, and McCain ought to seriously consider buying adtime to show it regularly from here til the election.

Re: Copyright Violations

culthero Tuesday, September 30th at 7:10PM EST (link)

Next time try using a video with any music by prince in it, watch it get yanked down so fast your head will spin.

As far as that video(the Hitler youth) – If you think the kids should not be used as political tools – such as what could be perceived to be done with that “Obama” yes we can song; then I wouldn’t juxtapose their song with the Hitler Youth.

I think both are silly; and meant to appeal to emotion rather then intellect.

Then to comment at the OP; Youtube pulls stuff down for a whiff of copyright infringement. It’s their business. Maybe Time Warner was politically motivated;

I am at least relieved however that Time Warner is not in the center of the Mortgage Meltdown; such as so many of the companies in John McCain’s top 10 PAC donor list.

I’d say that “hate Americans” would be a bit rough with the previous comment; but I think you equate any current candidate / candidates supporters to hitler who hasn’t started or enacted policies to round people up, keep them in camps, and execute them; then I think you’re desperate for attention. Yeah I know, “Connect the dots culthero, first it’s the … black dude .. then he becomes president … then young people … do his … bidding .. then they … kill jews… ” Fact of the matter is the only good points in any of the videos aforementioned was that the Clinton Administration opened the door for Sub prime loans post NASDAQ bubble; and as much as the Republicans like to point out – Barack and the Clinton’s aren’t so much of the best of buddies.

Using little kids is what reeks of hittler

Aaron Weatherford (Diary) Tuesday, September 30th at 7:12PM EST (link)

Never mind that Obama uses the same talking points as Hitler.

“My friends, it is coming to my attention that a great number of you are fearful of an Obama win. I must stress that you have nothing to fear from Obama winning the election as I have the greatest confidence he would be a most benevolent dictator.” – Hopefully John McCain

A pair of aces

sconklin (Diary) Tuesday, September 30th at 7:12PM EST (link)

Why doesnt Mccain go all in with this? He draws the best hand and keeps folding on a bluff. The next debate Mccain has to call out Obama’s involvement with the mortgage crisis

I only count two videos in this post/thread, culthero.

Moe Lane (Diary) Tuesday, September 30th at 7:18PM EST (link)

The Naxi/Obama one… well, Godwin’s Law, and feel free to ignore it. But the other one was in the original post – and it’s a perfectly accurate narration about how the Democrats pretty much were instrumental in causing our current mortgage mess. So where’s the third video? The one that you were comparing to the Obama/Hitler one?

Next post, please. And don’t stuff all your responses together like that: it lacks couth.

Re: Moe Lane

culthero Tuesday, September 30th at 7:43PM EST (link)

Ok; to be more “couthy”; the initial video points out negative things about Obama, but in-directly it points out the fact that McCain and any politician that has any serious bankroll (aka, has a shot at the big house). PACs’ from large corporations unfortunately play a HUGE role in fund raising for any major political candidate. Again, I’ll re-iterate; the only seriously damning connection I think that video makes is that the Clinton’s opened up the door for the subprime lending spree. However

Fannie and Freddie’s market share went down during the housing bubble because rising home values pushed more homes beyond eligibility requirements for CRA loans.

50% of subprime loans were made by companies who didn’t rely on Fannie or Freddie, outside the requirements of the CRA which required a higher level of creditworthiness, and they charged twice the interest of their CRA-bound counterparts. Another third of those loans fell under weaker CRA requirements enacted for small- to midsize banks by President Bush in 2005, when the bubble really took off.

Non-subprime loans are in trouble too because people lied about their income and banks weren’t verifying.

The problem was Government Regulations didn’t keep up; blame it on whoever you want.

If John McCain really had that ace in the hole in 2005- that is something that’s akin to Obama saying “I had the forsight to Oppose the Iraq war”, I would sure as hell hope he’d start playing it. I haven’t seen it but I look forward to it. McCain has stumbled several times in regards to the Economy; and most of it is coming out of his mouth. (Economy is strong, economy is in trouble, I’m suspending my campaign). Whether or not you agree they are gaffes the poll numbers seem to be reflecting that people believe the Dems are going to be better positioned to handle the economic crisis.

If you guys have the facts in your corner, pound the media with the facts they can’t refute; connect the dots for em;

Secretly I think the McCain warning of housing collapses in 2005 seems to be something his campaign wants to steer away from; for whatever reason or another. (otherwise this would be a campaign ad to responding to BO’s 2 minute economic ad)

Translation: you *did* mean the second video.

Moe Lane (Diary) Tuesday, September 30th at 7:51PM EST (link)

Thought so. Sorry, kid: but this particular line of BS doesn’t actually work on people with some familiarity with the real estate market.

Which, after you finish that 1,500 word essay on the details behind this video (which will include a discussion of every article referenced in it), you will be.

Have fun!

Moe Lane

PS: Be sure to not repeat your earlier mistake by not mentioning the names “Chris Dodd,” “Barney Frank,” “Jim Johnson,” or any other supporters that Fannie Mae and Barack Obama have in common.

Done. And THANKS MOE.

I would say Barry Obama is closer to Vladimir Putin, considering the KGB type practices that he and is surrogates are employing in Missouri to shut down any dissenting negative opinion of the almighty Messiah. Liberalism is the very reason we are in this financial mess. The video is right on the money; I think that’s why you don’t like it.

But do a little research and you will find out that these subprime lenders bundled these junk subprime loans and sold the securities to Fannie and Freddie, and government rules allowed the funds invested in these securities to count toward a bank’s Communitee

But do a little research and you will find out that these subprime lenders bundled these junk subprime loans and sold the securities to Fannie and Freddie, and government rules allowed the funds invested in these securities to count toward a bank’s Community Reinvestment Act lending requirements. This was particularly true for Fannie and Freddie who was under pressure from HUD to extend additional lending to economically disadvantaged groups.

Because I don’t hate 40% of our country’s people and soldiers and mothers and fathers.

Many of our military are going to vote for Obama – God Bless Them – which is a freedom they are fighting for.

This video compares those soldiers to Nazi’s.

Make me sick to my stomach.

After lurking here for almost a year, seeing this video actually prompted me to register just to say how incredibly awesome that video was.

I’ve sent the link to friends and family, and posted it on myspace (where I’m sure my liberal friend working for the Obama campaign in K.C. will see it and be absolutely infuriated).

I can only wish that the McCain campaign would get a hold of this, hone it down to about 2 minutes, professionalize it, and run that sucker the rest of the election. But as it stands, I’ll be happy just to see it go viral. Granted, it does move a bit quick and it is a little cheesy at the end, but the message is received loud and clear. Now if only McCain would lay it out like that at the next debate.

-z

I can accept that

Aaron Weatherford (Diary) Tuesday, September 30th at 11:15PM EST (link)

I would withdraw this but I do not have the authority to do so.

This video Godwins itself which I had to google the meaning of and am now somewhat relieved I have not become a total internet recluse.

I would have done better placing the audio over a Chavez youth rally.

So if the powers that be deem the above request worthy feel free to edit the video from my comment.

The title still stays as that is directed to the video in the post.

I enjoyed the video a lot, but I really wish there was a referenced (linked up), text version of it. Where each of those little screen-shots was a link, and was just a basic write-up of what the video said.

I think the video runs a bit long, but I don’t see a great way to cut off more than a couple of minutes.
