FRONT PAGE CONTRIBUTOR

Defacing other people’s stuff for Obama watch: get used to it.

This was planned, organized, and utterly unsurprising.

This comes via Hot Air and Fraters Libertas: the offensive part is, of course, that the vandals probably are patting themselves on the back for not using permanent paint.

If you’re a Democrat reading this, let me explain something:

We don't do this to you.

We don’t do this to you.

We don't do this to you.

We don’t do this to you.

We don't do this to you.

We don’t do this to you.

We don't do this to you.

WE DON’T DO THIS TO YOU.

My sign was shot by a BB gun. The Mitch Daniels (R-IN) sign was stolen and given to a dog to eat. (We found it chewed up down the road.) And the Palin sign had a lipstick-wearing pig drawn across it.

Mine was not the only yard to suffer with this stuff.

In contrast, there is only one Obama sign in the ‘hood, and it stands with no damage.

What a good way to change my mind. Keep it up.

  • Jaded

Obama supporters are intellectually stunted and live in a fairytale land…they touch my SUV I will hunt them down and make them pay!

  • Obis_Sister

We’ve had several cars vandalized because of their McCain stickers in the parking lot where I work. Morons.

  • StephC

I went through an affluent Green Hills area a week or so ago. All down the road, there was these little signs for Obama/Biden then suddenly a McCain/Palin sign. The McCain/Palin sign was big enough to fit all those previous Obama/Biden signs inside it and then some.

The bullies who did this to those vehicles are going to find out what Americans can do when they’re bullied. They hurt rather than help Obama. Bemoan the defacement but celebrate the act because they are fine examples of Obama supporters and the best argument for rejecting him.

  • Maggie_in_Indiana

So I bought 12 more now when one is ripped up ir stolen, I put out another one.

I did see Obama spray painted oover a McCain billboard. Haven’t seen any McCain painted over Obama.

    strange.

Sounds really similar to the way Islamic extremists rule, doesn’t it?

    Ephesians 6:13

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

They don’t scare me. I know whose side I’m on.

    Crotch of Allegiance

Now we know where Obama’s heart really is! And you thought it was in Iran!

    Hey Sailor!

You know there are some guys in San Francisco whose hearts are going pitty-pat when they see this!

So where is the talk about Big Brobama’s example to young people? Where are the worries about HIS health?

  • LAWizard

That his excuse for this was it was the national anthem and he was always taught you don’t put your hand over your heart but you sing.

It doesn’t look like he’s singing either. Am I right?

  • Strelnikov

And again we will ask the McCain Campaign: WHY are these pictures, and others like them, NOT being used in your campaign against this crypto-socialist?

  • sestamibi

    Well, maybe we should!

  • ConservaGeek

Don’t sink to their level. Let them corner the market on idiocy.

  • kal

    This is called Passive-Aggressive Brownshirtism.

Start buying more ammo when these hair, unwashed fools start attacking people in person.

    Until then, set traps.

  • ConservaGeek

Get a video surveillance system. It’s a good bet the folks who did this are too stoopid (intentionally misspelled, thankyouverymuch) to hide their faces.

With video in hand, go to the cops, and let these twerps find out what a visit from the boys in blue is like.

  • Tarheel2001

No, of course you don’t. Typical conservative behavior.

  • wt259

wasted your registration to take this shot? Wow, you folks really are inadequate. Moe, were those pics from the People’s Republic of Minnesota?

  • merkurfan

I you can see the MN plates on the car, and the 612 number on the van is a Minneapolis number.

Judging by the colors of the lawn signs across the street, it looks like o-bay-me and franken signs.. I’d send the cops over there first.

  • Chris_B

They don’t do this to you, either. What a ridiculous, trite generalization.

As another poster pointed out, this happens on both sides. Nothing new there.

But to argue that the people out there, people that actively, openly, and independently pay attention to politics do stuff like this is just such a stupid emotional response to fringes of a subgroup that it shouldn’t merit discussion.

There will always be fervent, ideological morons that deface property. But that’s what they really are interested in: defacing property. Not politics or religion.

So please: stop pretending this is a one-sided thing, and that it’s every Obama supporter out there doing this. Because, if it is, then it’s every McCain supporter doing it, too.

far left. To disavow that is to disagree with police reports, and even MSM reports which tend to NOT report these occurrences.

The right may be rowdy, but not doing that which is against the law…

That is a major difference and it is REAL!

  • dbecraft

Put an Obama sticker on your car for a week and see what happens. Then put a McCain sticker on your car and then check the results. Of course if you drive an SUV, it may change the results…heh.

Get back to us on what happens…

  • Moe_Lane

    Guess it stung.

  • Chris_B

Where are you getting your police report statistics from? I can’t find anything to support or refute that claim.

Searching on Google News for “McCain defaced” turned up slightly more stories of Obama signs being defaced.

As far as “not doing that which is against the law”, it seems like

    • defacing a mural,
    • setting a large sign in someone’s yard on fire,
    • keying a car, **
    • pulling a sign out of someone’s yard and smearing it with dog feces and then throwing it on their car,
    • and spray-painting a wooden sign in someone’s yard

    are clearly illegal, right?

  • Chris_B

I was literally run off the road in southern Indiana four years ago for having a Kerry-Edwards sticker. The same year, in Indianapolis, my brother’s car was defaced and the same bumper sticker was torn off.

Again, this is the fringe, and it exists on both sides, and I will assume it’s equally distributed, unless someone has some kind of non-anecdotal evidence to disprove it.

So can everyone stop whining about how their side is getting picked on and it’s not fair?

  • dbecraft

to include Republican cars keyed, Republican signs defaced, etc,… Just add Republican in front of most anything and you will be reading most of the night.

If you read most popular blogs, you will also find a significant increase in leftist (Democrat) idiocy. I’m sure you are not one of them though…

  • Chris_B

    just checking.

  • bobbymike

Maybe when small business people oppose the tax increases in a potential Obama administration they will start breaking shop windows like they learned from their fascist brothers.

  • wet_rat

I know a number of folks in southern New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts who are terrified to put up McCain signs or bumper stickers for fear of vandalism to their home or car.

I know someone in New Jersey who will not put either a McCain or a pro-life bumper sticker on her car because it will get her fired from her job at a pharmaceutical company.

I’ve also heard reports of assault and battery cases in northern Virginia where the victims had McCain bumper stickers.

You will be next. Vote Obama!

    ;)

  • kingman

We have a huge economic crisis on our hands, I honestly believe vandalism is the least of our problems. Has anyone taken a look at the DOW lately? I’m a registered republican and find this a waste of breath and time!!

  • kchand

you took the time to ‘reply’ by saying it is a waste of time.

  • thetylerhayes

This is lame. People defacing shit is pointless, and absolutely disrespectful. I am, of course, a liberal. But it pisses me off when people vandalize stuff. There’s always some idiot…

Either way, both sides do it. I live in a conservative neighborhood and go for a jog every day. And Obama signs have definitely been stolen/vandalized, sometimes even replaced with McCain signs.

I’m not here to bash, because I agree that liberals do this more than conservative. I guess it comes with the territory – as we all know the youth in our country tend to be more liberal (and I hardly think we can all imagine our middle-aged co-workers being the ones to do this!).

Security systems are definitely a good idea! There was an Obama follower in Alaska who set up a cam feed of her front lawn and caught people stealing the sign in the middle of the night – twice!

Keep up the good reporting! (But maybe try to be a little less harsh? Being offensive is a good idea IMO, as it wakes people up. But 100% lies like “We don’t do this to you” are better when replaced with “Oh and don’t forget – liberals do this more.” and include some sources, then you REALLY own on people!)

  • Moe_Lane

Second: your side has since upgraded to Molotov cocktails.
